The Perversion of Prosperity and Blessings...

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 2

If there's ever been a verse of scripture quoted more than this one to prove or justify a doctrine (Prosperity Gospel) in today's institutional, money hunger, enterprise called 'CHURCH ' ; I don't which it would be...unless maybe Malachi 3:8-11. I'm certainly not speaking against this verse (and other similar ones), I'd be most foolish to do that, I'm speaking of the perversion of these scriptures to justify the fleshly desire for seeking and hoarding of earthly riches.

It is taught in the pulpits across this nation every Sunday, broadcast on every 'christian' TV network...God wants you to live the 'good life', prosperity means financial blessings...MONEY. It's taught that money and goods are a reflection of God's favor upon His children...anything short of that means there's sin or lack of faith on the one not measuring up.

I believe in prosperity; I believe in being blessed by God...I believe they should be a by-product of faithful obedience unto God, with the focus on our relationship with Jesus Christ rather than on what we can get from Him. I believe that in America (and a few other nations) the message of prosperity and blessings has been twisted to cause believers to get caught up in 'this life'. Chasing after the 'American dream'(rather than The Kingdom of God), and through this lust for money and possessions, reinforced and fostered by 'the harlot church system', people are deceived and rendered ineffective for true service unto God by Satan.

The prosperity gospel as taught by most today is a perversion and a lie, and it's results (wealth, possessions) are actually a curse rather than a blessing. American professing Christians have bought into this lie, hook, line, and sinker, and don't have a clue what Jesus meant by taking up The Cross, denying oneself, and following Him. Crucifying the flesh is just words for far too many people professing to be His disciples. They are blinded by the deception/lie of the 'good life' promised along with all the other cotton candy/minister to my flesh, doctrines taught and embraced today.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”
