Today, the office of a Prophet is a business...

It is widely accepted today by the apostate church and it's leaders that the office of a prophet can be had by attending prophet schools and conferences and paying a fee.(and often the 'impartation/laying on of hands' by other false prophets) There are MANY today who are prophesying that America's best days lie ahead and that world peace will come. They adore themselves with the title of 'prophet' and seek the praise of men and promise that which people want to hear (as well as solicit their money).

Here is what God's Word has to say about self appointed prophets who fleece the sheep. I think these 'prophetic' scriptures are applicable today.

Micah chapter 3...

v5 "Thus saith The Lord concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against Him."

v6 "Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them."

v7 "Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God."

v8 "But truly I am full of power by the spirit of The Lord, and judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin."

v9 "Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity."

v10 "They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity."

v11 "The heads therefore judge for reward, and the priest thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon The Lord, and say, Is not The Lord among us? none evil can come upon us."

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”
