Storing up goods...
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink:
nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body more than raiment.? "
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself..."
Matthew 6:25&34
More and more 'christian' websites are advocating the storing up of goods against the 'coming doom'(tribulations) as spoken of in Revelation. Even if the Post-Trib believers are right and they're going through tribulations (3 1/2 yr. or 7 yr. based on who one believes) what does Jesus say about this? I believe the instructions given above found in Matthew 6 tell us what His will for believers is. Yet how many will say that The Holy Spirit has instructed them to do this(store up supplies/food/water/survival gear) and to tell the body of Christ to do it as well. Aren't prophecies supposed to line up with God's Word?
And I don't think this means don't put up in the normal manner that people living off the land does yearly. We understand the principles of sowing and reaping and seasons and harvest in regards to raising veggies and livestock. I'm speaking of the purposeful storing away specifically in order to survive the times of tribulation.
When He returns, Will He find FAITH?
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”
