Any form of worship is acceptable unto The Lord...

More and more we see these 'rock concerts' for Jesus. Mostly youth jumping around listening to a blend of heavy metal/rock/eastern chants music? It's infiltrated most all the denominations in their attempt to win the youth for Jesus. We have here in Birmingham one of the largest movements where young people are flocking to called 'The Basement'. Kids are coming from all over the world to 'jam' in a mosh-pit type environment with light shows, smoke, fire, and deafening music.

I just discovered today that IHOP is now in Birmingham.(that's International House of Prayer started in Kansas City by Mike Bickle ) Here it's called the 'Birmingham Prayer Furnace' and located about a mile from me, but they acknowledge on their website that IHOP is their pattern and template.(funny, I can take a right from my place and go a mile and eat pancakes at IHOP, or I can take a left and go a mile and jam for jesus at an IHOP.)

I went to their website and they are a non-profit corp. 501(c)fed tax exempt organization seeking donations and 'like-minded' people to start additional 'prayer houses' throughout the city. One qualification is you must embrace the music style and promote it...one must, "Particularly encourage the worship styles of the youth culture of today." They have some clips on YouTube and on their website, in one I saw a young girl comes up to the camera an sticks her tongue out and hisses, as the music is pulsating and they jump around. There's a lot of 'chanting' words or phrases over and over, and the jumping up and down goes on and on.

So what the harm in that, what's the lie being taught? one might ask. They're worshiping another Jesus, there's NO reverence or holiness being encouraged. It's just a rock concert under the guise of christianity.( I should know, I spent my youth at one rock concert after another) They're being taught and deceived into believing that this is what Christianity is all about and this form of 'worship' is pleasing to Jesus. There's more to it than just the music, like submission to the group leaders and the 'prayer soaking' 24/7.

btw: I'm not condemning these kids, they haven't been taught any better...it's the leadership that promotes and encourages it that is at fault. Anything to draw a crowd, make money, and present the illusion of spiritual success.
