More lies taught and endorsed by the church...

The lie of Christmas is perpetrated by the religious system of today known as the institutional denominational church. Yet just a couple of hundred years ago christ-mass was banned, outlawed, and shunned by God fearing Christians. In the 1500's only the Roman Catholic church celebrated this man-made holy day(a mass they started from a blend of various pagan practices mixed with their own spin on it. After the Reformation the Angilican/Church of England continued with the tradition as they had before leaving the RCC.

The Calvinist taught against it and exposed the idolatry. Once people started coming to America the early church here didn't have anything to do with the pagan practices of christmas. The Puritans, Quakers, Anabaptist, and even early Baptist and Methodist were against this practice. In 1659 Christmas was banned in Boston, Mass. and other towns and colonies soon followed. Christmas was frowned upon by most all 'religions' in the 'new world' and wasn't widely accepted until the 1800's.

In 1836 ALABAMA was the first state to make Christmas a legal holiday, and Oklahoma was the last in 1907. The commercialization didn't really start until the 1900's and just look at it now. It is so ingrained in the fabric of peoples lives that now the overwhelming majority of the America's, Canada, England, Australia, and Europe celebrate it, both heathen and 'christian' alike. Many retail stores make up to 75% of their years business during the 'holiday season' shopping craze.

It sure strikes me as a bit out of kilter when a very tanned person with a red dot between their eyes, wrapped in colorful scarfs, speaking with very broken english, wishes me a Merry Christmas as they load a perfectly shaped Fir tree onto their SUV. Rolling Eyes

I'm reminded of Jeremiah 10, but I'm sure if I were to ask someone within the institutional system who was in authority(such as a pastor/teacher, or even a confessing bible believer) what God meant when He said not to learn the way of the heathen and to question the origins of Pagamas and the history of the church concerning it, I'd be told 'LIES' once more.

As an addition to this post, I want to quote from Charisma Magazine an article written by J. Lee Grady giving 'his' take on christ-mas.

"But I unashamely love Christmas, I love the trees, the ornaments, the lights, the smells, the food, music, the gifts..."
So here's another opportunity for this man to stand up for truth and righteousness(and just like what he did with Lakeland and Todd Bentley, he follows along with the crowd...) Instead of using the platform he has to preach truth and warn the charismatic movement who reads his magazine, he just scratches the ears saying what people want to hear. Why? Because no one wants to surrender their traditions and deny their flesh what it wants.
