BOY! This thread set dormant for so long when I saw you had posted I thought it was a new thread, but while I was logging in I thought to myself 'that title sounds familiar'. Smile

The next revelation I observed was that Sue has changed her 'online name' to sparkles...and I didn't even notice until today.

As I reread the thread I am reminded of something I've been thinking about concerning Solomon and how his life was at the end of his days. My daily Bible reading has me almost through Psalms and I'll be in Proverbs in about a week. But what has been on my mind is how Solomon was given such wisdom from God and yet as he became a 'senior citizen' he allowed the influence of his many wives to draw him into idolatry. It reminds me to be diligent in that just because we've been given wisdom and instruction (from The Word by The Spirit) if we don't continue in it then we could fall into the same trap.(not having a thousand wives, but Satan has plenty of snares designed for people today that lead to idolatry...truth is it only takes one)

Without sounding judgmental, I think from reading the text concerning Solomon one could conclude that even though he was known as the wisest man ever, it appears that he made some very 'dumb' decisions. Honestly, it sounds like what many Christians wind up doing. I know I've made choices that sure didn't reflect the wisdom I've been given. Another reason followers of The Lord should be diligent to study both the OT as well as NT, these things were written for our examples...to learn from and avoid the pitfalls.

Yep! It's an everyday walk, applying what we're given is the key...again it's back to the crux of Jesus' teachings...be ye doers and not hears only....deceiving yourselves...wisdom is given so that we won't do that, deceive ourselves.

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”
