I'm not sure if I ever posted this before or not but in any case here it is. This has got to be one of my two favorite vs in all the bible.

Psalm 50/2

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined.

Talk about conundrums!!!

Absolute perfection. Nothing could be anymore beautiful. Absolute perfection. And out of that perfection something even more beautiful has shined. Something even more perfect.

Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer.”

I've always given pause when I read verse 21 of Ps. 50, it's hard to describe exactly how it makes me feel, yet it always reminds me that my Father is much more wise than mere mortal men will ever know.

"...thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself:..." Psalms 50:21

HE IS SO MUCH MORE, and because He is, in His Amazing Grace, we can go to Him for forgiveness as David did in the very next chapter(51, one of my favorite prayers of repentance... that I've prayed more times than I can remember.) Yet I see also that He is warning against taking the additude of continuing in sin...He is HOLY and He has made it clear that we're to be holy as He is Holy. I believe many take Romans 8:1 and the 'no condemnation' part as a 'get out of jail free' scripture and deceive themselves concerning allowing sin (walking after the flesh, and not seeking repentence from the sin but continually asking forgiveness, rather than overcoming the sin) I also have came to the conviction lately that this is the reason that there is such a lack of POWER(dunamis, anointing, Holy Ghost/Spirit...) today in those of us professing to be 'spirit filled'.

Speaking of "Sayings"...Jesus, in Matthew 7:24 lays it out to us in clear black and white(or should I say 'red'); after teaching the people concerning how a follower of Him is to live (Sermon on the Mount, chapters 5,6&7) saying..."Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, AND DOETH THEM..."

Is a wise man!

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”

Amen!

A summary of those sayings:

Let's see... Jesus speaks of letting our light shine (good works), doing and teaching the commandments, not being angry with our brothers (ouch!), seeking peace with our adversaries, not looking upon a woman (with lust), not divorcing our wives, no oaths (simple yes or no should be sufficient for the Christian,) resist not evil (turn the other cheek, don't resist lawsuits, be they just or unjust,) help others when asked (go the second mile, give to those who ask or borrow,) love our enemies (bless those who curse us, do good to them that hate us, and pray for those who persecute us... in short --be perfect as our Heavenly Father is Perfect!)

Chapter Six continues by instructing us on how we are to give (secretly,) how we are to pray (secretly and without vain repetitions,) pray by glorifying our Father, pray for each of our daily needs, forgive our debtors, pray for deliverance from evil.

Our fasting shouldn't be for show, our treasure shouldn't be of the temporal kind but of a heavenly nature. Our lives shouldn't be consumed with acquiring material things but we should be seeking Him. We ought not be judging others or casting our holy things before swine. We should ask, seek, knock, -- in short we should be totally dependent upon Him.

Do unto others as we would have done unto us, enter at the strait gate and beware of false prophets...

Wise men will "do" these things and thus fulfill the 'commands' of Jesus!

Blessings,
William

Here is my second favorite vs in the Bible. Not sure if I ever shared this or not.

Ps.48/2 . . . the joy of the whole earth . . .

This vs has captivated me since I got the Holy spirit way back in 1974. I don't quite know how to describe it. Just a deep longing in my heart to see this happen. The whole earth filled with joy and praise. Nothing to be sad about. Just peace and happiness throughout the whole earth.

Slightly off topic but I believe our universe was created this way. That all of heaven was praising and rejoicing and it got to the point to where it moved God (Jesus) to action and creation

Job 38/6-7

We had a girl (20) living with us for awhile, she was upset and called someone an oxymoron! C:
