I saw a blurb on youtube from National Geographic about it. I was pleasantly surprised as NatGeo mostly got it right. I've seen books on the subject from friends who showed them to me and wondered about it.

The general consensus I've seen from the intelligentsia is that he was in India learning the ways of the the Gurus and Sudhi. That's why he came back with much wisdom and the ability to do miracles etc. At least thats what we are told. That there are 18 missing years from 12-30.

As I'm sure everyone here is aware the bible tells us where he was for those "missing" 18 yrs. HIs friends and neighbors were offended because he was only the village carpenter. They knew his mum and dad and family. Not off in India learning the wisdom of the ancients.

A missing 18 yrs? I think it would be more correct to say that between a toddler and stepping into his ministry there was only one notable incident. That being his first visit to the temple. All those other years he was simply the village craftsman.

Well, one thing is certain, when His public ministry emerged, He was fully prepared. By this we know those years were years of preparation!

Blessings,
William

When I was in construction for 17 years I always thought about just how absolutely perfect a chair or table made by Jesus would have been. Talking about collectible value, can you imagine how high the bidding would go at Christie's Auction House on a piece of furniture proven to be made by Jesus? I also wonder if the first piece He made looked like it was made by an a inexperienced carpenter. I can hear Joseph saying, son you need to work on that a bit more.
