There was a movie about that yrs back. I never watched it but remembered it as I was thinking about this.
The main actor in the animated film is a German Shepherd named Charlie. Here is a blurb from Wiki on the plot.

Charlie is sent to Heaven by default despite not having done any good deeds in his life; a whippet angel explains to him that because dogs are inherently good and loyal, all dogs go to Heaven and are entitled to paradise.

So my question is: Do all dogs go to heaven? Or more generally do animals (any/all) go to heaven? My answer would be no of course not. Think of the uncountable numbers of birds and fish.
Eccl. 3/20-21 The spirit of man goes up the spirit of the beast goes downward into the earth.
In other words at death unlike man an animal simply ceases to exist. But there is more to say on the subject. There are apparently animals in heaven. Rev. 19/11-14 White horses for sure. I don't think it would a big stretch to believe there are other animals as well.

I had an experience a few yrs back. We had a cocker spaniel that was dearly loved and part of the family. If you have never had a pet you won't understand how much a part of the family they are. Or how you grieve when you lose them.

This was yrs back when our kids were still home and the only one looking for divine healing was me. She got very sick and the family consensus was she needed to be put to sleep to alleviate further suffering. I of course was the one nominated to actually take her in. I told the vet I wanted to be there while he did it as I didn't want to see her go without someone she loved closeby.

As she died something happened I was not expecting. I saw her spirit come out of her body at an upward angle and the angel of the Lord appeared in front of her and caught her in his arms and took her away.

As I have said before I believe heaven is a generic term simply referring to the spiritual realm. Which I believe is filled with dominions realms universes. We think that our very elderly dog is there in one of those realms where she is young again and very happy. She knows who the creator is and who we are and is waiting for the day when our family enters eternity.

I want to emphasize this was not anything I was praying for expecting or looking for in any way. I don't believe all animals go to heaven nor do they get saved as we do. I do think that on some level every animal has a conscious awareness of the creator.

I don't want to make a bigger deal out of this than it is but there are apparently animals in heaven and I don't see any reason why beloved members of our families can't join us there.

I realize someone somewhere is thinking OK Marks really gone off the deep end this time. But can't be helped. If you've never had a family pet you won't realize how much a part of the family they are.

Paul said God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or even think and I think that applies even to simple little issues like this.

Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer.”

Lots to ponder there, Mark!

Makes you wonder just how big that "cloud of witnesses" really is!

[Heb 12:1 KJV] 1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

There's also that piece of the puzzle called "resurrection" to consider... I suppose that every thing that has ever lived could, in theory, exist forever in that spiritual realm but to exist in a "body" on this "restored" earth is truly a gift!

Blessings,
William
