Someone over on another board I post on posted this question
[What I don't get is the instant knee-jerk reaction by America to protect Israeli interests. Why do we "care" so much? It isn't just the number of Jews in the US, because how many of those people have been to Israel, plan to go to Israel or even have immediate family in Israel? And it isn't just that it's the homeland of the Jews, because it's also important in the Muslim and Christian faiths.

Anyone want to enlighten me?

To which I replied this answer

Because there is very strong public support for it. It cuts accross all income political and demographic classes. I read a well researched article about it on the internet a while ago. I probably couldn't find it now

I misunderstood her question. She was asking "why" is there broad public support for Israel. I ended up scatching my head. I don't know. It isn't just that our political leaders are reading the political tea leaves either. There is strong support for Israel in Congress as well. Lots of people call that the Jewish lobby and there is some truth to that. According to the article I read though it is a deep belief for Israel both in the political class and among the great unwashed. I thought it was an interesting question. The only answer I can come up with is that most middle aged americans grew up in sunday school hearing about Israel. The problem with that though is that the younger generation did not grow up in sunday school and there is strong support for Israel there too. Any comments?

I think most of it stems from the saturation of Christian teaching in
America since the founding of the nation. Then with Israel becoming a
state in 1948 there was a reinforcement of that teaching with a visible
manifestation concerning the truths of Scripture. This may have been the
impetus for many of the revivals since that momentous event. Even those
who were not steeped in Christian doctrine concerning Israel were no doubt
moved with compassion after the Holocaust. Throw in the fact that
America loves an underdog and viola! a predominately pro-Israeli sentiment!

Blessings,
William

I think a lot of the pro Israel thinking in America is a post-Christian response partly based on American premillenialism. But it also has a huge basis in the fact that many postmill thinkers have taught the restoration of national Israel as well.

Sympathy for the Jewish remnant and a belief in the ultimate restoration of the nation as a whole people is a part of our Christian heritage down thru 2000 years! Even amillenialists are often willing to admit that God will restore the Jews enmass to the Kingdom before the Lord returns. Romans 11 and the OT prophets are the foundation. The particulars belong to God.

I received an email from one of my Messianic friends. He is a Rabbi who got saved (they call it being a completed Jew). He is in touch with family and friends in Jerusalem.

He said that more and more troops are being called up in Israel everyday. He also said there is a "foreboding" across the land. Uh Oh

I thought I would tell you guys in case you were led to press in and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Also, I pray that God give our President a heart for Israel and that he make Godly decisions...serious times.

Blessings,

GWB

It may be that Israel will take action against Iran. There was a time
when the US would stand behind such an action, but given the current
political climate, I'm not sure this would be automatic. It seems as if
the whole world is uniting against any who would unilaterally take
military action even when it seems justifiable. So if Israel takes
measures to protect themselves without consultation with the UN, the
result could be a worldwide condemnation. If this happens, it might be
the trigger for the beginning of the end.

William

Hey Moulder,

Doesn't the Word say something like, "In the end, Israel will be alone?"

Our current president is leaning towards sympathizing with the Muslim world. If war breaks out between Israel and Iran, isn't this the first war of the Tribulation where the the Kings of Persia (Iran) and the Kings of the North (Russia) invade Israel?

Russia has been supplying everything Iran needs and are "friendly."

Bush wanted a two state settlement as does Obama. The only difference is that Obama sympathizes with the Muslim world.

If this is so, God have mercy on America for supporting division of the land.

I am at peace, regardless. Nothing can harm us unless it is filterd through His hands. He has everything under perfect control and timing.

Praise His Holy Name for sound teaching in times like these. It is coming in handy more and more all of the time!

Blessings,

GWB

I have been led to share this on Facebook with The Children of FA and my personal wall. I believe it is an important to share the gospel of Jesus and to explain why prophecy confirms the Word of God.

Israel: A Journey Through Time
(Past, Present, and Prophetic)

This is why Christians should support Israel. It is a journey through time. It is history, present day news, and our future.
And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Abraham was, “A man chosen by God to be a father of many nations whose children would be like the stars of the sky.” Abraham would go on to be considered the father of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Does Israel have a right to exist? If so, why should followers of Jesus care? Why should the entire world care?

The nation of Israel can trace its roots back to the patriarch, Abraham who first appears as Abram in Genesis 11:26. Before God told him to move to Haran (Cannon), he was born and lived in Ur of the Chaldeans, which is now called Iraq. The coastal plain was rich in agriculture and strategic in transit coordination’s between Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Mediterranean Sea. It connected the world of its day; from one civilization to another. Whoever controlled this area had the advantage; even to this day. God entered into a covenant with Abraham to be the father of this area. Genesis 17:10. In Genesis 17:8, God promised Abraham that this land would be theirs as an everlasting possession. Also, He would bless those who blessed them, and curse those who cursed them.

While there, Abraham had the choice to be clean and worship the One True God, or to do evil: worship idols, practice immorality, and kill their children for sacrifice to In short: Abominations. God was giving it to Abraham and Sarah, as well as, their children.

Sarah could not conceive a child. God promised it. But, she jumped the gun and persuaded Hagar, her Egyptian handmaiden, to be with Abraham. Hagar had a son named Ishmael. Sarah’s and Abraham’s impatience for a son would come back to haunt him, and us. It is the source of conflict in Israel today; headlines.
In the meantime, finally Abraham and Sarah have a son named Isaac. God tested Abraham and asked him to sacrifice this special son. After all, the pagans all around were doing it! Before Abraham went through with it, God provided a ram as a sacrifice. This sight is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem today. It is sacred ground to Muslims and to Jews. It is also sacred to Christians because we are grafted into the vine of Abraham through Messiah, Jesus.

Being grafted into the vine mean that we, as Christians, receive the promises God gave to Abraham. We get God’s blessings upon us, and our families. We receive salvation and we are redeemed from the fall of man. When people curse or hurt the Jew (Israelite, Hebrew) it is the same as hurting anyone who loves, what Christians believe to be their Messiah, Jesus. Both sons want The Holy Mount and the city of Jerusalem. God said in the Bible, “Do not divide my land or I will divide yours.” Jerusalem and Israel is NOT to be divided. God is not compromising. He promised to Abraham and Sarah’s line. We have two sons, one is the promised son by God, and the other is the stepson. Both sons are battling for it today. Both sons will battle it out in Revelation.

Two major faiths now lay claim to the sacred grounds of the Temple Mount: Islam and Judaism. (Islam = Ishmael, the stepson, and Judaism = Isaac or Abraham’s promised son. God called Abraham to be father of the Jews (Isaac) some 4,000 years ago. It was around 2,000 B.C. Islam (Muslims) emerged less than 1,400 years ago following the birth and the influence of a man named Mohamed. Both lay claim to Abraham as their ancestral father. The effects of this dysfunctional family continue to be felt today. The Holy Mount and the city of Jerusalem are SO important to this dysfunctional family that New York is missing two towers and Iran is going nuclear ASAP.

The Bible teaches that His promise to Abraham would be passed down through Isaac to his son Jacob. Jacobs name was changed by God to Israel due to certain things that happened in his life. The name of Jacob’s twelve sons would be given the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. They are the heirs of the promise made to Abraham by God; “He remembers His covenant forever…”
“He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.” Psalm 105:7-11.

Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, was sold into slavery by his brothers. However, God used it for the good and this placed Joseph in Egypt. God took care of Joseph and rose from the depths of prison and became ruler under Pharaoh. Famine came upon all the lands and forced Jacob, and his sons to move to Egypt. They were hungry! The tribes of Israel are now placed in Egypt (Hebrews.) They were slaves for 400 years. It was a total bummer.

The pharaoh who was ruling got paranoid because they were getting to be a crowd, these Jews. He ordered all baby boys to be killed. Moses mom would not have it. She put him in a basket on the Nile and sent his sister to watch over him. The pharaoh’s sister saw Moses in the basket. She secretly saved Moses. Whew! This kid grew up in the Egyptian palace. Moses was educated and knew their religion like the back of his hand. But, there was a problem. His heart was Hebrew. His mom’s prayers worked. Moses finds himself a full blown, royal Egyptian. His brain is discombobulated. He sees someone kill a Hebrew. He kills the murderer. Moses gets scared and runs like the dickens to the desert where he lives for 40 years. Now, that is enough time to think!

After this time, God calls Moses out to deliver the Jews (Hebrews, Israel) from Egypt. The movie of the 10 commandments happens. “….I will deliver them from the Egyptians and bring them into a spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey-the home of the Canaanites, ALL of the …..ites, Exodus 3:4-8.
Israel is delivered from bondage. But, the Hebrews were stubborn and wondered for 40 years. That gave them time to think, as well! This nation (the Israelites) was taught by God Who was boss and how to worship Him (The Tabernacle). The Tabernacle later became permanent in Jerusalem as the Holy Temple Mount.

After they learned their lesson, it was time to get this special land promised to Abraham years ago, the land with milk and honey. But, wait….problems arise. The twelve chosen spies, from each tribe, were sent out by Moses. They came back and told Moses that Cannon rocked! It also has giants, as in Goliath, Philistine, giants. Moses chose Joshua to go in and conquer the land.

The tribes were becoming wimps. They were griping and whining. Giants and fortified cities stood before them. God was disgusted and sent them back to the desert.
Joshua was awesome and eventually conquered all of the land of Cannon for the Israelites (Hebrews, Jews) Christians are grafted into the promises of Abraham. That is New Testament.
The times of the Judges (leaders) and prophets (wild and crazy people who predict the future and it all happens) was in place. They acted and talked for God. They talked about Jesus, the New Testament, and the end of times.
Now, Boaz enters, who takes a liking to Ruth. David, their gg-grandson ruled Israel. See Samuel and the Psalms. Even though David did horrible things, David was one of God’s favorites because he was REAL with God.

A lot happened, but eventually, Jesus was born through this very line. It was just like those crazy men predicted. He was a Jew (Hebrew, Israelite). God landed them in their land that was promised; Cannon which is now called Israel.

Move forward to modern times. People are living together. Both sons and all of their kids and grandkids, remember? They are living in the same land and it is a living nightmare; headlines. Ishmael’s kids determined to name the land Palestine, after their ancestor’s, the Philistines, as in Goliath.

In 1948, a prophecy is fulfilled that Israel will be born in one day. It was and it happened. The Bible says that THIS generation shall not pass away until we see the return of Jesus. Revelations is beginning to happen and many more prophecies of the end time are as well.

The church did NOT replace Israel. That is heretical teaching. God still very much loves Israel and has a plan for her and the church.

We have a president who raised Muslim. He has given millions of more dollars to the Palestinians than to Israel. He met with the Palestinians and bowed to them. He has given Israel a cool nod. As a matter of fact, he “skipped Israel” on his “I’m sorry” tour of the Mid-East. Please pray for the president who is in office at any time. Pray that that president will have a heart to protect Israel and be their ally.

Please pray so that our country and our families can remain safe and live a peaceful life. Please pray so that we can obtain a period of Grace so that the Word can be shared even more so. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

I have had many responses to this simple explanation of the important path Israel has traveled and why. It confirms the Word more than anything.

Please pray for me so that I may hear His voice clearly in sharing Ezkiel 38 and 39. It is headlines in our local paper. It is a valuable door in sharing the Gospel and the Word of God to many.Smile

There is no question as to whether Obama is Muslim/Islam.

http://1389blog.com/2010/08/26/even-more-evidence-that-obama -is-muslim/

The question is; will we be given more grace if the candidate who is elected is Pro-Israel? Or, will the End-Times be excelerated with a leader who is sympathetic to terrorists, Islam, and Iran who want to blow up America and Israel?

"In the end, Israel will be alone." America will not have back bone to support her sooner or later. I pray it is later so that we can lead peaceful lives in order to share His Word.

GWB,

Very good video. This shows the true nature of Islam, a religion of hate.

Its hard to believe that the Arabs are all concerned about this one little nation when they have vast areas of land that no one lives in. You would think they would help out the Palestinians and give then a place or area of land if they are so concerned about them.

Of course we know that the Antichrist will be there with a solution someday soon.

Israel definitely needs our prayers in this hour.

In Him,
Gary
