Hi guys.

I thought I had better stick my head in the door and say hi. About 5 weeks ago I got laid off from my job.(thank the Lord) Immediately following that my father became ill. Nothing particularly serious but it meant I could spend a lot of time with him. Picture here two strongly opinionated men on opposite sides of the faith message as well as much else living in the same family for many years. We got along but there was always lots of disagreement. By the end of this month of much time together a plain simple friendship had developed. He lived in a retirement home and I got a call from the home that he had fallen and as a precaution they sent him to the emergency ward. "Cue long story here" The doc there noticed problems and admitted him. Three days later we got the word that he wasn't coming home. He went to be with the lord last Sat night. Thats why I haven't been around much.

Oddly it was a time of much laughing and talk with us kids and as a family we came very close together. Even my wayward youngest sister who flew in from afar. There had always been tension between her and us but that is now well on the way to restoration.

As far as my job is concerned getting laid off was a surprise but not an unwelcome one. I didn't like anything I was doing. So I'm gong to take the summer off.

In any case I'm sure I will be back here shortly shooting my mouth off and generally making a nusince of myself. Smile

I find I always have to write something on a steamed mirror....

Sounds like the Lord has everything under control!

I will sure keep you and your family in my prayers. What a blessing that you and your family had the opportunity to laugh and talk and have your family come together.
