Isn't it AMAZING how The Lord reveals things to His children, using different things with each other, yet tying them all together when everyone shares? Last night and this morning He was putting on my heart about His Grace in my life, and I have been reflecting today on the journey. So tonight Gillyann posts this link to a video by Bono challenging the church and revealing his faith. It brought to mind something he had said in an interview years ago.

"You see, at the center of all religion is the idea of Karma. You know, what you put out comes back to you: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth; or in physics -in physical laws- every action is met by an equal or opposite one. It's clear to me that Karma is at the very heart of the universe. I'm absolutely sure of it. And yet, along come this idea called GRACE to upend all that, as you reap, so you will sow, stuff. Grace defies reason and logic. LOVE interrupts, if you like, the consequences of your actions, which in my case is very good news indeed, because I've done a lot of stupid stuff." ~Paul David Hewson, better known as Bono, of U2.

GRACE, His unmerited favor upon man...and He's not a respector of persons, for ALL have sinned and fallen short.

Amazing Grace, how sweet indeed!

Bono. Interesting fellow. Christianity Today did a blurb on him several yrs ago. He is very socially minded. Has a real heart for the poor. He (and his band mates) attended a charismatic church in Ireland but they all left.

I "think" this is the reason why. .45 sec in

I'm going to go way out on a limb here and perhaps I shouldn't but I have believed for some time that when the antichrist hits the scene one of the reason he is going to take over is because of people like Bono pointing at him and saying listen to him

I should add that if anyone has better info than me then feel free to share it. But my reading of Bono is that he and his band didn't find what they were looking for in Christianity and are still looking for the answer.

I don't know if Bono professes to be a Christian or not, I do know he has a religious upbringing and several of their (U2) songs make reference to Jesus or God. He says some 'good' things and speaks of God's grace, I hope he's received it.

He has brought awareness to many of the world's problems into focus and helped raise money for aids and poverty relief. He seems to care about the social problems...so I could see how, if he's not grounded in Jesus and God's Word, that the antichrist would seem to be just the solution to all the worlds woes. His opinions do carry weight in the world, especially among the younger generations.

It's one thing to speak of God's mercy and grace, and even to believe; it's another thing altogether to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, repent and follow Him.
