As I was reading today in Matthew 1:18-25 I was blessed and encouraged to see the faith of Joseph. Joseph was just a man who was mightily used by God and who knew the scriptures, so when the Lord spoke to him in a dream Joseph was obedient to the word of the Lord. He did just as he was told: he took Mary as his wife and named his son Jesus. Then later after Herod sent the wise men to seek out Jesus and report back to him where the child was, but the Lord warned the wise men to not return to Herod but they went back to their country another way.
Then the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Jesus and Mary to Egypt and stay there until the angel told him he could return.
After Herod died the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take his family and go to land of Israel.

Joseph knew the voice of the Lord and the scriptures. The wise men knew it was God warning them in a dream. We have been given the Word of God to lead and guide us into all truth. We have been given the Holy Spirit, we have been given the authority to use the name of Jesus to cast out demons, see people healed and saved. We are such a blessed people to have our eyes opened to the truth of Jesus Christ being our Lord and Savior. It is a privilidge to be able to know and pray to, and trust our very lives to the God who created all that we see and hear, and that spiritual realm that we don't see.

God has promised to preserve us, lead us, guide us, save us, heal us, deliver us, speak to us and comfort us, and many other things. He is perfect truth and will do all that He has promised us. Trust and obey for there is no other way.

God spoke to Joseph in dreams, and He does that today also, but He also speaks to us through His Word and by that still small voice of the Holy Spirit, and He also uses our brethren in the Lord. We must be careful to not follow every wind of doctrine, or just because someone says they are a prophet or have "a word" for us, but rather line everything up to God's Word.

We are living in the last days and Satan is going about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. We need to be ever diligent to follow our Savior, Jesus, as He will lead us in the paths of righteousness and holiness, and we will make it as we follow the Shepherd of the Sheep.

"Lu 2:25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
Lu 2:26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
Lu 2:27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
Lu 2:28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
Lu 2:29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
Lu 2:30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Lu 2:31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; Lu 2:32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."

Simeon had been given a promise by God that he would not see death until he had seen the promise of the one who would bring salvation. God was faithful to Simeon to fulfil His word.

God is also faithful to us to fulfil His word in our lives. Simeon was a just and devout man, one who served God and knew the voice of the Holy Spirit. One who had communion with God. Simeon knew the child was what was to come because he had a relationship with God and knew that which was promised to him would be fulfilled. We too need a relationship and fellowship with the Lord, and to walk in faith and holiness. We also will see the promises of God fulfilled in our lives.

Genesis 6:11-8:20

God saw the wickedness of man that was in the earth, but Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. God told Noah that He was going to make an end of all flesh; for the earth was filled with violence. The Lord told Noah to make an ark of gopher wood, and gave him the instructions of how this was to be built. God told Noah that there would be a flood on the earth, to destroy all flesh, everything on the earth would die. But God would establish a covenant with Noah and preserved Noah and his family. Noah was instructed what to bring in the ark, how much food, and when to shut the doors. The Lord lead Noah, and Noah obeyed the words of the Lord. By his obedience Noah and his family were saved from drowning and being destroyed with all the rest.

Noah knew the voice of the Lord, and walked in obedience. We too can walk in obedience and know the voice of our Lord to preserve us and keep us with what is ahead for the christian.

Just to add my thoughts to this, not only did Noah know God's voice and walk in obedience, Noah WALKED WITH GOD.

Genesis 6:8-9

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord."

"...Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God."

Is it possible to walk with God today? Not just be obedient and hear His voice, but to walk WITH Him. I think it is, but in order to do so we must put off the carnal, fleshly, religious ways and embrace the 'cross', dying to the self life.

Just a question that was asked of me and I'll let everyone examine their own hearts...Are we sold out to Jesus to the point of obeying Him even as Noah did? Or are we too caught up in the cares of this life as was foretold by Jesus in Matthew 25 and verses 37-39.

"But as the days of No'e were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that No'e entered into the ark.

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
"

To go around professing and confessing to have FAITH is one thing, having faith (the faith of Noah) is reflected by our relationship with God...and others...it can't be faked or 'confessed' into existence, it will be revealed in times of testing. My prayer for the Body of Christ(as well as myself) is that if we don't really have FAITH, then may The Lord reveal it now, that we may repent and seek the true 'Faith of Noah', to actually WALK with God.

Just a little secular saying that has much truth in it..."There's no elevator to success...You have to take the stairs."

Many will say in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not........?

“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”
