Jesus. Don't you care?

Can you imagine anyone asking Jesus that question. Yet that`s precisely what the disciples
Did when they were in the ship and a storm came up. Mark 4:38.

Can you imagine? They walked, ate, slept with Jesus daily, seen miracles and yet asked Jesus don't you care?
Jesus asked, "why are you so fearful? Why is it you have so little faith?" He must have been terribly disappointed in them.

Thankfully we have never asked Jesus that, Right? Or have we. Has there not been times in each of our lives when we have asked, Jesus don't you care?
Don't you care that I`m treated unfairly at work?
Don't you care my wife, or husband has left me?
Don't you care I`ve prayed for healing and nothing has happened?

I believe Jesus would ask us the same thing. Why are you so fearful? Why is it you have so little faith? Is He not equally disappointed in us? Heb 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please Him.

What about Martha in Luke 10:40. Jesus don't you care that my sister isn't helping me. Then she proceeds to tell Jesus, "bid her therefore to help me."
Jesus reply's to Martha. You are anxious and worried about many things. One thing is needful and Mary has chosen that and it will not be taken from her.

What was it about Martha that was different then Mary? Martha was busy, busy, busy doing what she thought was important to Jesus. Actually what was important to her. Surely if I prepare this great meal for Jesus He will be pleased.

Can anyone see a parallel here with many Christians? If I`m busy here at church, or if I do this that or the other thing Jesus will be pleased with me?
Jesus said no, Mary has chosen the right thing. She chose to set at the feet of Jesus and learn.Jesus wants us to "Be" before we go and "do".

All through the whole Bible are examples of the question, Jesus don't you care. The Israelites questioned Moses, Gods representative. Have you brought us here to die?
My friends, Jesus cares deeply for us. He loves us with an eternal love that we can never understand. He gave His life for us. We should never ask, Jesus don't you care?

There is a saying that I think were all familiar with.
Familiarity breeds contempt. I suppose the most accurate meaning is
This means that the more you know something or someone, the more you start to find faults and dislike things about it or them.

Probably the best analogy I can think of is when a couple gets married. The excitement, the honeymoon, the starting of a new life and building a home. What can possibly go wrong?
Ah then familiarity sets in. Finding of faults takes place. She gets upset because he constantly leaves the lid up in the bathroom.
He gets upset because she squeezes the tooth paste tube at the top and he prefers the bottom of the tube. They vowed to love each other till death does them part and yet how many divorces takes place because of we become familiar.

This couldn't happen in the spiritual realm could it? How about when we first got saved. We witnessed to every one we knew. We testified of even little blessings. We couldn't wait to get to meetings. The joy of the Lord filled our hearts.

Oh Oh. Then familiarity sets in. That brother that always gets up in the meetings and testifies of the dumbest stuff. Cant he just take one Sunday off. Why does the song leader keep singing the same songs every week. He never sings ------- what ever you name it.
Maybe we went to hear brother so and so and then another brother is preaching. Man if I had know that I would have stayed home. Familiarity.
Can we become to familiar with our Lord?
We experience great blessings and we are not like the old covenant people. We can enter the Holy of Holies at any time. We bop in and it`s "Hey Lord here is my list of things I want you to do today, and oh yeah thanks for yesterdays blessings. Well I gotta run. Same time tomorrow?" Maybe the Lord wanted to talk to us but were to busy. To familiar.
What happens when a trial comes to test our faith?
We don't get relief right away and then it`s, "Jesus don't you care?"
We became to familiar. We forgot who the Lord is.
To far fetched?
Jesus said in Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Why did we leave our first love? Did we become to familiar? Did things not happen the way we wanted and then maybe not contempt for the Lord but discontentedness set in?

Paul said in Phil 4:11 I have learned to be content in all things.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation
