Hello,

I don't really know where this should go.

Would like your thoughts on the following.

Is this a Biblical principle?

"If you take something God has not given you, you will forfeit or lose something you do have or He has given you."

I am going away for a few days so may not log on for a while.

Hello Sincerely,
This was a very thought provoking question. I have been pondering it since you shared it with us.
I am not sure I have the correct answer, but will take a stab at it.

I certainly believe there is the principle of sowing and reaping that Gal. 6:7-8 says:
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."
Now if a person takes something that is not his the principle would be that he will reap that also. The question is though, would it happen in this life or the next. Nothing we do escapes the Lord, and we will give an account for all our actions and words, but I don't think it will all necesarily be seen in this life. It may be we will end up losing rewards.

Could it happen that we lose or have something else taken away in this life?
Yes, and I am sure that does happen, but I also believe God is merciful and longsuffering.
It also may be that we don't have something physical taken away, but rather our peace and relationship with God is hindered, which could be worse than having something taken away.

But I also think many of the false prophets who are taking the name of Jesus and giving false words, and stealing peoples money will be judged, and we have seen that where some of these have been exposed to the world to be liars, thieves, drunkards, homosexuals, false prophets, and smooth talkers. Some have ended up in prison for tax evasion and lost everything, others have had their families destroyed. Unfortunately there are many christians who are deceived by some of these. After a brief time of being away from the spotlight some of these deceivers come back and continue to draw people back to them.

In Revelation 22:18-19 the Lord warns us:

"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

So I would say yes, you could lose or forfeit something, but God is also merciful and gives us time to repent and make things right.
