Good afternoon, all.

Anybody out there use any type of Bible software in their studies? In the past, I have used the internet-based Blue Letter Bible. It has served me well for several years, but I felt I needed more fire power as my studies got deeper. After a lot of research, I just bought BibleWorks 7. I haven't had a chance to load it up on my laptop yet, but I have read that it has a lot of bang for the buck.

I have also heard that the Logos software is good, but I have also heard that it is so massive that you need a high-end computer to run it efficiently. Logos is also a great deal more expensive than BibleWorks 7 ($1400 vs $350).

Just curious.

Thanks, and have a great day!

For years I've used the Online Bible (you actually install it on your computer) which has 100's of downloadable modules ranging from original languages to modern translations, and a whole lot of extra-biblical material. I've always found it quite suitable for my needs. Oh, and it is free! Get it here:
http://www.onlinebible.net/ There are many other sites that offer modules for the Online Bible that users have created... truly awesome!

A couple of months ago, I found something I like just as well, it has a ton of translations, all of the original languages, and a growing library of commentators. It is great for word studies and I really like the Bible reading and devotional stuff. (I do keep my good ole leather bound Bullinger's Companion Bible close by, just in case the power goes out!) Anyway, this one is free as well, you can download it at: http://www.e-sword.net/

I've never used one of those expensive models, so I can't compare these two with anything else, but I can't imagine how they could improve on these bibles.

Blessings,
William

Ahh, the dichotomy of a Mac user. Maintaining the snobbery of their cult, they pine away lusting after the fruit that lies just beyond the gates.

We be sure it was an apple that spoiled the first man, will you dear hombre, throw off the chains and join us in our abundance? The grass is pure and green just over the fence, it is good for food.

Thou shalt not surely die. Come on, try it just once and you'll see that these leeks and garlics are much better than those wormy apples.

Leave off that pride of life and humble yourself... ye can be as one of us. Remember, the trials of thorns and thistles (hackers and viruses) help to make us strong!
