What seek ye?

In Johns gospel that is the first words of Jesus that John recorded. Jn 1:38 It was addressed to the disciples that were following Him. He asks us the same thing today. What are you seeking? We should have an answer in our heart since He did ask the question.

When Jesus preached His longest sermon Matt 6:32 He spoke of what worldly people eagerly seek for.
The modern day TV preachers stress that we are to seek new homes cars clothes. In other words they tell us to seek all the same things that worldly people seek. Jesus says seek first the kingdom and He(the Father) will give us what we need not necessarily what we want.Yet He says the Father will give you all the things the gentiles seek if you seek me first. He knows we need these things but we are not to seek them. The worldly people have to seek these things because they have no heavenly Father. Again the Lord asks, What are you seeking. Are you seeking the benefits or are we seeking Him. Jn6:26 Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled.

David had it right in Ps 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord. Spoken like a true bride. Jesus is preparing us to be His Bride. Are we going to be a bride that desires Him and Him only or are we going to be the type of bride that wants what we can get from the husband. I guess in todays vernacular gold digging brides.

Ps 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep. He wants us to have a deep relationship with Him.

He doesn't need us..WE need Him.

I would agree that God doesn't "need" us. He is sufficient within Himself. However, He chose us for a

Purpose. He redeemed us with His blood. It`s not what we can offer Christ but what He offers us. He is

Looking for the servant , bride if you will, willing to be used of Him. Our responsibility is to be faithful

Obedient, prayerfully sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We are important to God.He called us His

Children. Our duty is to find out what His plan and purpose is for our life.

What seek ye? Is it the pupose of Christ in oue lives or the blessings only?
