This won't come as news for anyone keeping up with the culture but I thought it was well written and I'd pass it on. Someone sent this to me as I don't subscribe to her substack.

It's about young Jews moving to Israel because of the hate they're experiencing. My opinion is that God is calling his ancient people home in preparation to saving them.

When I get to Israel three weeks from tomorrow, I'm putting my luggage away. I'll be done wandering, and I'll be done asking other people to accept my Jewishness and my Zionism. I'll be home.

Hey Mark,

That was an interesting article. Right away though, the principle elements were set forth when it said:

Quote:
He had just read my book, How to Fight Antisemitism, and he wanted to tell me more about the atmosphere he was facing as a pro-Israel, gay, progressive on campus.

Taking it backwards from "campus" (where you'd expect that whatever follows is going to be tolerant to any and all leftest causes) you've got "progressive" as the next element. With just these two points--campus & progressive--one expects near-paradisiacal conditions for any ill that might follow.

Next you add in "gay", another non-sequitur if you're wanting to introduce an element of "trouble" in paradise.

But wait, the following two propositions, "pro-Israel" and the initial "antisemitism"--these two form the basis for conflict! It's not the element of homosexuality or higher education that provides extra fodder here (unless, of course, you've haven't bought into the idea of college campus idealism that seems to be the standard apex of perfection these days) it's the pro-Israel aspect that brings the antisemitism to the forefront. I guess what I'm saying is that adding in the "gay" element didn't put another element of conflict (cause progressive college campuses wouldn't blink an eye at gayness!) into the mix, it only served to muddle the main issue which was pro-Israelism and by extension this is what allowed the antisemitic sentiments to flourish.

Blessings,
William
