Hello All!

I thought I would share with you that I just got back from the "promised land" last night. By "promised land" I mean Indiana. My best friend since I was in 1st grade at FA (Scott Reed) turned 40 on Saturday, so I surprised him with a visit. I also had the opportunity to visit Warsaw Community Church, where numerous ex-FA folks attend.

I took an extra day to drive around my old stomping ground. We lived about 3 miles from the FA building, so I drove around and took some pictures. The entire parking lot, except right in front, is grown up with weeds. The old Faith Ministries building is about to collapse. They stripped the metal off the building, and it is covered in rotting plywood.

Besides visiting with my friend, one of the main highlights of my trip was that I spent the evening and had dinner with Jerry and Cathy Ervin and Edna Hill. It was a great time of fellowship and discussion of the former FA and how God has worked in our lives since then.

Jerry and Cathy really don't look any different from the FA days, except Jerry's beard is almost totally gray. Edna Hill is in her 90s, but she is sharp as a tack and has a wonderful memory. She is a wealth of knowledge about the whereabouts of old FA folks.

I told Jerry about our website and asked him to post. I told him that he would be given celebrity status if he were to post. Smile

He said that he would definitely check us out, and he gave me permission to post about our visit together. They are doing well and have moved on in their walk with God since FA. However, I could tell there were still some deep scars from when he was asked to leave FA in the late 80s, because he began preaching against legalism and for liberty in Jesus.

Finally, for those who used to live in Indiana, it smelled great. The corn was turning golden brown and the smell of the fields and the air brought back a flood of childhood memories.

Have a blessed day!
