I don't know what to think presently concerning all the storm clouds gathering over Andrew Stroms Ministry. Google Andrew Strom.

There's a number of articles being written saying he is heading up a "new cult" of New Zealand followers. I did notice he has two web sites that he no longer allows people to post on and has opened a third web site that is a closed door member only club. You have to be signed on and go through a screening process to participate.

I thought this was maybe to weed out so many false doctrines that was constantly being posted on his site. I seen everything from people who believed in aliens to mormonism being promoted by his many visitors, So I thought personally it was better not to let just anyone post was the reason for the new site.

For the most part I always felt this man's ministry was valid but I did not believe he was a prophet as some claimed.

Why? He gave a major prophecy concerning a deadline that was to take place by the end of 2012, which never came to pass. He told his supporters that if this prophecy never came to pass he would have to apologize to the body of Christ.

"There was never an apology and the article with prophecy was removed from the site."

Anyway, I do not understand all the riff raff with the articles and the concern at this time. For the most part I believe this Brother has a heart for the Lord. It will be interesting how this unfolds, any minister who tries to make a difference always seems to be under tremendous scrutiny. After all what is everybody looking for, there will never be a perfect ministry that everyone can agree with?

Wasn't there a prophecy with a group of ministers and a giant snake that was trying to destroy them?

In Him,
Gary

I remember a number of times in our meetings people were told that eating what you wanted was an act of faith. It is?

I don't personally believe a person can live on junk foods, sugary drinks, and candy and expect to live a life of total health.

I do not know if we have ever had a generation of people that have the choices we do when it comes to food.

I know of a man who had diabetes, he quit taking insulin and would eat candy bars as an act of faith. They did not affect him in the beginning but eventually he died of diabetes.

Years ago as a young person I would drink four or five coca colas at work, it was hot and miserable out. About ten years ago or more I totally quit drinking soda, sweetened or diet. Now pop, and sugary drinks has no appeal to me whatsoever.

I just think we can make the message on divine healing to no effect when we try to abuse a situation saying, it is an act of faith.

Faith does not need to prove itself to make it true. Faith is the substance if we have actions afterwards that can be called an act of faith its because we are healed. The actions is you know its taken care of.

What I am trying to say is that some people had the mindset that if they did "something" that this proved it was faith. Not necessarily!

Faith is a knowing in your heart that God has dealt with it and nothing on this earth will stop it.

I hope this makes sense.

Gary

Here's something that I found to be interesting about how truths are 'Spun' to meet the agenda of those doing the 'spinning'.

I think most of us are aware of most of this, Bro. Freeman pointed a lot of it out years ago.

But there's a lot of info as to how the media manipulates the general public and influnces peoples opinions.

The god of this world is very clever and deceptive and so many are blinded by his tactics.

It's kind of lengthy and sounds a bit like it's written by one with conspiracy fears, yet there's much truth in it.

Perfect example, Swine Flu......"worldwide Epidemic", they (pharmaceutical companies) used fear to make hundreds of millions of dollars...how? The media.

I received this email yesterday from a girl my wife works with. It was given to her cousin and It blessed me so I thought I would share it with the forum. by the way the girl is 23 years old. I thought us young men were supposed to get the dreams but the Lord apparently thought different...

.

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------

I had a dream recently that I feel that the Lord wanted me to share with some of you. I hope I portrayed it well enough for you all to fully get the picture of what I experienced… it’s changed me, and my hope is for it to do the same for you…

In my dream I was in a room, by myself, scared. Scared isn’t even really the correct word, I was petrified. I was sitting on the floor in a cold, damp cement room. I remember feeling cold, and eeriness of the air…I couldn’t figure out where I was or how I got there, but I could hear that there was a crowd chanting, cheering and screaming.

I noticed a crack in the wall and I crawled over to look. As I looked out, all I could see was thousands and thousands of people in side of what looked like a coliseum. As I look on, I saw that these people were actually crucifying innocent men and women. I could see the anguish, the horror, I could see the bright red blood that was being pored out of their bodies…

I fell to the ground weeping for them and trembling with fear…I felt so helpless, so unable to help those people, not to mention knowing that I was next. It was such a strong, horrible, REAL feeling. I wish I could find the words to describe it. Its something I have never EVER felt before… Then… I knew they were coming for me. With every step “they” took toward me, it was like an ecoh that echoed through my entire being… boom. Boom. Boom. I could hear my heartbeat, echoing though my head…faster and faster…beating faster and faster as they got closer and closer…

Then, all of the sudden, as they came and opened the door, a white light pierced through the darkness and there was a man in the room with a me. He had a presence, and authority I have never known before. Everything else stopped… He just gazed at me and smiled… He was so peaceful, graceful, and incredibly… breathtaking. I couldn’t see his face, but I knew exactly who he was…He gently walked over to me and bent over, picked me up, and held me. Just held me… Then he whispered in my ear… “I’ll go for you”

I woke up after that, and just broke. I realized that we have a responsibility as Christians to be praying, and interceding for the lost. What we see in the surface may not be as horrible as what I saw in my dream… but spiritually, people are being CRUCIFIED!! WHAT ARE WE DOING? It seems like such an impossible battle but we have been promised that we CAN do all things through Christ who IS our strength… Jesus is always right there… ready and willing to pick us up and take our load from us! No matter what it is, no matter the circumstance…Always just in time…always perfect. If we can only let down our walls, our prides, and our ugly selfish flesh and just let HIM take our burdens…let HIM take complete control of our lives… We will never be dissatisfied…ever!

Bless you all!
Ashley Norris

Here is where all of the bitter rants will end up so it would probably be a good idea to just start them here! I felt that we needed a section for this type of stuff just so we won't fall into that old hide-your-head-in-the-sand routine!

But the more delicate should probably stay out of this section!

I used to own a boat and one day the battery went dead. All of a sudden went drifting towards the edge of a waterfall. After praying the waters I was on began drifting me away from the falls and used oars to get back safely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpBB05VEIBM

PSALM 149

(Praise to God for His Salvation and Judgment)

Praise the Lord!

Sing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise in the assembly of saints. (or on OO Smile )

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Let them praise His name with the dance;
Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the humble with salvation.
(The Lord takes pleasure in His people and saves them. The people praised Him for military victories.)

Let the saints be joyful in glory;
Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand,
To execute vengeance on the nations;
And punishments on the peoples;
To bind their kings with chains,
And their nobles with fetters of iron;
To execute on them the written judgment—
This honor have all His saints.

Praise the Lord!

A sister and I have been working on a huge project of transferring all of the FA music I have on tape to CD form. It has been very hard and time consuming, but I feel it will be worth it in the end. We will be sharing the music on OO as soon as we get it all finished.

I believe this music will be used to defeat the enemy by praising Him. Praise does not come naturally to me, especially when I am in the midst of trial, temptation, sorrow, and discouragement. However, praise is a mighty weapon that the enemy hates. I believe it is a miracle that I still have all of this music. God kept the music safe with all of moves I have had. With one house in particular, Rolling Eyes I am thankful the tapes were not destroyed. Huge mistake on the enemy's part....big. Because the enemy was not thinking ahead, now this music will be available world wide. Smile

Don't move that dial, we will have it here very soon!

"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth."

Blessings,

Shalom,

GWB

Just listened to a four tape series by Derek Prince. 1. spirit of witchcraft, 2. spirit of anti-christ, 3. Islam, religion of hate and deception, and 4. the church's victory.

Was surprised at how well this man taught the Bible.

I could not remember why we thought he was off, then I googled a clip and found he was into shepherdship teaching. Then I read where he said later on in life:

In 1969, he teamed with Bible teachers Bob Mumford, Charles Simpson and Don Basham, and later Ern Baxter, to lead what became known as the "discipling" or "shepherding movement." The movement became highly controversial as reports circulated of manipulation and control by leaders. Prince withdrew in 1983, saying, "I believe we were guilty of the Galatian error: having begun in the Spirit, we quickly degenerated into the flesh."

"In the light of this," he said, "I repented of my involvement and renounced the error. I deeply regret the damage that was done to the body of Christ and in the lives of many promising young men and women. "

This brother was a Bible scholar with an interesting background.

Prince was born in Bangalore, India, into a British military family. He was educated as a scholar of Greek and Latin at Eton College and Cambridge University, England, where he held a Fellowship in Ancient and Modern Philosophy at King's College.

According to his biography, as a student he was a philosopher and self-proclaimed atheist. His conversion came during service in the British Medical Corps during World War II, "through a powerful encounter with Christ," after he began to study the Bible as a philosophical work.

When Prince married his first wife Lydia in 1946, she had eight adopted daughters, six Jewish, one Arab and one English. Lydia, who died in 1975, went to Jerusalem in 1928 from her native Denmark to run a children's home.

He married Ruth Baker in 1978. She died in 1998 in Jerusalem where they had lived since 1981.

Its amazing how divided we were over doctrine in the body of Christ and no one ever considered praying for others that God would make a way of escape from any deception.

Anyway was blessed by this brothers messages.

I don't know if you have heard about the new documentary that is coming to theaters in your area. It is called: No Safe Spaces

Its about these groups of people going around america and telling us what we can say and can't say and they are working on taking away our freedom of speech.

I know someone who sat in a required government meeting and someone from one of these groups was telling them were not allowed to say "Sir" or "Ma'am", because this is offensive to people of various genders. It was a two hour long meeting telling them what was offensive and hateful speech. No longer can you refer to a boy as "he" or a girl as "she". The person was totally shocked by what they heard. This stuff is being taught in grade schools.

Any Rate this movie is exposing the removal of free speech in America. I got an email tonight saying that the movie would be in out area soon, and I noticed Alabama was on the list of states. I saw some clips of the movie, it seemed very informative. A lot of this New age thinking is being promoted on Campus's and they have courses on the subject of offensive speech. A lot of gay groups are trying to teach a new language and put fear on people who won't listen, they have the colleges working with them to supposedly stop all the hate speech.

You might want to check this one out when when it comes to theaters near you. I think you can google the movie trailer.

In Him,
Gary

This is a sermon by David Platt, pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, AL. I have made comments over the years about the shallowness of the 'denominational system' and so quick to lump them all together. Here is an example of a sound, Biblical call to repentance and a turning unto God....in a Southern Baptist Church.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFgMfEPjeAw

If the link doesn't work every time, just go to YouTube and type in "repenting of sin and returning to God" David Platt and it will bring it up.

The angel Gabriel told Mary………

37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.
Luke 1:37-38 (KJV)

Behold your handmaid (your servant)

Tho I don't understand or comprehend this........

Be it unto Me according to thy word !

I pray as we read and study Gods Word that our attitude should be as
Mary’s was:

Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.

Another weekend of violence, sexual inuendos, reveling, lust, and greed has finally past.

I read an article that said they expected 100 million people would watch the superbowl. One third of this country and the number is more likely higher.

We can all see what is important to the American people.

And that is Sin and the pursuit of sin. I can see why so many in other countries keep saying judgement is coming to America.

Those Aussies...

This is a real exchange I witnessed today between an American, an Austrailian, and a New Zealander (on a Christian forum).

So the American (Yankee) guy is challenging a statement by the Kiwi and says to the effect, "saying that that is true doesn't make it true any more than saying I'm your Huckleberry."

So the Kiwi(New Zealand) says, "Sorry pal, but your colloquialism goes right over my head."

An Aussie chimes in with, "Sorry mate, but for us down under, isn't everything over our heads?"

Speaking of Aussies, a Sincere shoutout to our fellow Christians 'down under'...

btw: being someones 'Huckleberry' means 'your man for the job', or 'your guy'...saying made popular by Doc Holliday in the western movie 'Tombstone'.

Anybody heard of or seen the ad campaign that's sweeping the country? It's called 'I Am Not Ashamed'. Here's the link to their website, I found the comments viewers made down below interesting and some were a blessing.

I've removed the test area and the maillist associated with it and since
nobody liked my innovative initiative I've removed it as a public option.
I of course will still be able to leap over tall buildings using
the software (designed for superheros) while the masses will still need
to use the subway system. Never fear, I will only use my power for good.

I should have realized that most were not ready for change, but I must
press on... new challenges call for new solutions... and that my friends
is change we all can believe in!

George Mller - instructions
Taken from “Answers to Prayer” by George Mller

HOW TO ASCERTAIN THE WILL OF GOD

I seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that it has no will of its own in regard to a given matter. Nine-tenths of the trouble with people generally is just here. Nine-tenths of the difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the Lord's will, whatever it may be. When one is truly in this state, it is usually but a little way to the knowledge of what His will is.

2. Having done this, I do not leave the result to feeling or simple impression. If so, I make myself liable to great delusions.

3. I seek the Will of the Spirit of God through, or in connection with, the Word of God. The Spirit and the Word must be combined. If I look to the Spirit alone without the Word, I lay myself open to great delusions also. If the Holy Ghost guides us at all, He will do it according to the Scriptures and never contrary to them.

4. Next I take into account providential circumstances. These often plainly indicate God's Will in connection with His Word and Spirit.

5. Ask God in prayer to reveal His Will to me aright.

6. Thus, through prayer to God, the study of the Word, and reflection, I come to a deliberate judgment according to the best of my ability and knowledge, and if my mind is thus at peace, and continues so after two or three more petitions, I proceed accordingly. In trivial matters, and in transactions involving most important issues, I have found this method always effective.

From the title page of the same book:

"I never remember, in all my Christian course, a period now (in March, 1895) of sixty-nine years and four months, that I ever SINCERELY and PATIENTLY sought to know the will of God by the teaching of the Holy Ghost, through the instrumentality of the Word of God, but I have been ALWAYS directed rightly. But if honesty of heart and uprightness before God were lacking, or if I did not patiently wait upon God for instruction, or if I preferred the counsel of my fellow men to the declarations of the Word of the living God, I made great mistakes."
GEORGE MLLER.

Here is a good ebook that I found that highlights the period between the apostles and Constantine. It is useful for anyone wanting to examine how the early church put the teachings of Jesus and the apostles into practice. Disclaimer: I know nothing about the person/organization that put this together. Blessings, William

Supplemental Material showing a pre-19th century teaching of a pre-trib rapture

On the Last Times, the Anti-Christ, and the End of the World A Sermon by Pseudo-Ephraem

Section 1

Dearly beloved brothers, believe the Holy Spirit who speaks in us. We have already told you that the end of the world is near, the consummation remains. Has not faith withered away among mankind? How many foolish things are seen among youths, how many crimes among prelates, how many lies among priests, how many perjuries among deacons! There are evil deeds among the ministers, adulteries in the aged, wantonness in the youths--in mature women false faces, in virgins dangerous traces! In the midst of all this there are the wars with the Persians, and we see struggles with diverse nations threatening and "kingdom rising against kingdom'' (Matt. 24:7). When the Roman empire begins to be consumed by the sword, the coming of the Evil One is at hand. It is necessary that the world come to an end at the completion of the Roman empire.

In those days two brothers will come to the Roman empire who will rule with one mind; but because one will surpass the other, there will be a schism between them. And so the Adversary will be loosed and will stir up hatred between the Persian and Roman empires. In those days many will rise up against Rome; the Jewish people will be her adversaries. There will be stirrings of nations and evil reports, pestilences, famines, and earth quakes in various places. All nations will receive captives; there will be wars and rumors of wars. From the rising to the setting of the sun the sword will devour much. The times will be so dangerous that in fear and trembling they will not permit thought of better things, because many will be the oppressions and desolations of regions that are to come.

Section 2

We ought to understand thoroughly therefore, my brothers, what is imminent or overhanging. Already there have been hunger and plagues, violent movements of nations and signs, which have been predicted by the Lord, they have already been fulfilled (consummated), and there is not other which remains, except the advent of the wicked one in the completion of the Roman kingdom. Why therefore are we occupied with worldly business, and why is our mind held fixed on the lusts of the world or on the anxieties of the ages? Why therefore do we not reject every care of worldly business, and why is our mind held fixed on the lusts of the world or on the anxieties of the ages? Why therefore do we not reject every care of earthly actions and prepare ourselves for the meeting of the Lord Christ, so that he may draw us from the confusion, which overwhelms all the world? Believe you me, dearest brother, because the coming (advent) of the Lord is nigh, believe you me, because the end of the world is at hand, believe me, because it is the very last time. Or do you not believe unless you see with your eyes? See to it that this sentence be not fulfilled among you of the prophet who declares: "Woe to those who desire to see the day of the Lord!" For all the saints and elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins. And so, brothers most dear to me, it is the eleventh hour, and the end of the world comes to the harvest, and angels, armed and prepared, hold sickles in their hands, awaiting the empire of the Lord. And we think that the earth exists with blind infidelity, arriving at its downfall early. Commotions are brought forth, wars of diverse peoples and battles and incursions of the barbarians threaten, and our regions shall be desolated, and we neither become very much afraid of the report nor of the appearance, in order that we may at least do penance; because they hurl fear at us, and we do not wish to be changed, although we at least stand in need of penance for our actions!

Section 3

When therefore the end of the world comes, there arise diverse wars, commotions on all sides, horrible earthquakes, perturbations of nations, tempests throughout the lands, plagues, famine, drought throughout the thoroughfares, great danger throughout the sea and dry land, constant persecutions, slaughters and massacres everywhere, fear in the homes, panic in the cities, quaking in the thoroughfares, suspicions in the male, anxiety in the streets. In the desert people become senseless, spirits melt in the cities. A friend will not be grieved over a friend, neither a brother for a brother, nor parents for their children, nor a faithful servant for his master, but one inevitability shall overwhelm them all; neither is anyone able to be recovered in that time, who has not been made completely aware of the coming danger, but all people, who have been constricted by fear, are consumed because of the overhanging evils.

Section 4

Whenever therefore the earth is agitated by the nations, people will hide themselves from the wars in the mountains and rocks, by caves and caverns of the earth, by graves and memorials of the dead, and there, as they waste away gradually by fear, they draw breath, because there is not any place at all to flee, but there will be concession and intolerable pressure. And those who are in the east will flee to the west, and moreover, those who are in the west shall flee to the east, and there is not a safer place anywhere, because the world shall be overwhelmed by worthless nations, whose aspect appears to be of wild animals more than that of men. Because those very much horrible nations, most profane and most defiled, who do not spare lives, and shall destroy the living from the dead, shall consume the dead, they eat dead flesh, they drink the blood of beasts, they pollute the world, contaminate all things, and the one who is able to resist them is not there. In those days people shall not be buried, neither Christian, nor heretic, neither Jew, nor pagan, because of fear and dread there is not one who buries them; because all people, while they are fleeing, ignore them.

Section 5

Whenever the days of the times of those nations have been fulfilled, after they have destroyed the earth, it shall rest; and now the kingdom of the Romans is removed from everyday life, and the empire of the Christians is handed down by God and Peter; and then the consummation comes, when the kingdom of the Romans begins to be fulfilled, and all dominions and powers have been fulfilled. Then that worthless and abominable dragon shall appear, he, whom Moses named in Deuteronomy, saying:-Dan is a young lion, reclining and leaping from Basan. Because he reclines in order that he may seize and destroy and slay. Indeed (he is) a young whelp of a lion not as the lion of the tribe of Judah, but roaring because of his wrath, that he may devour. "And he leaps out from Basan." "Basan" certainly is interpreted "confusion." He shall rise up from the confusion of his iniquity. The one who gathers together to himself a partridge the children of confusion, also shall call them, whom he has not brought forth, just as Jeremiah the prophet says. Also in the last day they shall relinquish him just as confused.

Section 6

When therefore the end of the world comes, that abominable, lying and murderous one is born from the tribe of Dan. He is conceived from the seed of a man and from an unclean or most vile virgin, mixed with an evil or worthless spirit. But that abominable corrupter, more of spirits than of bodies, while a youth, the crafty dragon appears under the appearance of righteousness, before he takes the kingdom. Because he will be craftily gentle to all people, not receiving gifts, not placed before another person, loving to all people, quiet to everyone, not desiring gifts, appearing friendly among close friends, so that men may bless him, saying;-he is a just man, not knowing that a wolf lies concealed under the appearance of a lamb, and that a greedy man is inside under the skin of a sheep.

Section 7

But when the time of the abomination of his desolation begins to approach, having been made legal, he takes the empire, and, just as it is said in the Psalm:-They have been made for the undertaking for the sons of Loth, the Moabites and the Ammanites shall meet him first as their king. Therefore, when he receives the kingdom, he orders the temple of God to be rebuilt for himself, which is in Jerusalem; who, after coming into it, he shall sit as God and order that he be adored by all nations, since he is carnal and filthy and mixed with worthless spirit and flesh. Then that eloquence shall be fulfilled of Daniel the prophet:-And he shall not know the God of their fathers, and he shall not know the desires of women. Because the very wicked serpent shall direct every worship to himself. Because he shall put forth an edict so that people may be circumcised according to the rite of the old law. Then the Jews shall congratulate him, because he gave them again the practice of the first covenant; then all people from everywhere shall flock together to him at the city of Jerusalem, and the holy city shall be trampled on by the nations for forty-two months, just as the holy apostle says in the Apocalypse, which become three and a half years, 1,260 days.

Section 8

In these three years and a half the heaven shall suspend its dew; because there will be no rain upon the earth, and the clouds shall cease to pass through the air, and the stars shall be seen with difficulty in the sky because of the excessive dryness, which happens in the time of the very fierce dragon. Because all great rivers and very powerful fountains that overflow with themselves shall be dried up, torrents shall dry up their water-courses because of the intolerable age, and there will be a great tribulation, as there has not been, since people began to be upon the earth, and there will be famine and an insufferable thirst. And children shall waste away in the bosom of their mothers, and wives upon the knees of their husbands, by not having victuals to eat. Because there will be in those days lack of bread and water, and no one is able to sell or to buy of the grain of the fall harvest, unless he is one who has the serpentine sign on the forehead or on the hand. Then gold and silver and precious clothing or precious stones shall lie along the streets, and also even every type of pearls along the thoroughfares and streets of the cities, but there is not one who may extend the hand and take or desire them, but they consider all things as good as nothing because of the extreme lack and famine of bread, because the earth is not protected by the rains of heaven, and there will be neither dew nor moisture of the air upon the earth. But those who wander through the deserts, fleeing from the face of the serpent, bend their knees to God, just as lambs to the adders of their mothers, being sustained by the salvation of the Lord, and while wandering in states of desertion, they eat herbs.

Section 9

Then, when this inevitability has overwhelmed all people, just and unjust, the just, so that they may be found good by their Lord; and indeed the unjust, so that they may be damned forever with their author the Devil, and, as God beholds the human race in danger and being tossed about by the breath of the horrible dragon, he sends to them consolatory proclamation by his attendants, the prophets Enoch and Elijah, who, while not yet tasting death, are the servants for the heralding of the second coming of Christ, and in order to accuse the enemy. And when those just ones have appeared, they confuse indeed the antagonistic serpent with his cleverness and they call back the faithful witnesses to God, in order to (free them) from his seduction . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Section 10

And when the three and a half years have been completed, the time of the Antichrist, through which he will have seduced the world, after the resurrection of the two prophets, in the hour which the world does not know, and on the day which the enemy of son of perdition does not know, will come the sign of the Son of Man, and coming forward the Lord shall appear with great power and much majesty, with the sign of the wood of salvation going before him, and also even with all the powers of the heavens with the whole chorus of the saints, with those who bear the sign of the holy cross upon their shoulders, as the angelic trumpet precedes him, which shall sound and declare: Arise, O sleeping ones, arise, meet Christ, because his hour of judgment has come! Then Christ shall come and the enemy shall be thrown into confusion, and the Lord shall destroy him by the spirit of his mouth. And he shall be bound and shall be plunged into the abyss of everlasting fire alive with his father Satan; and all people, who do his wishes, shall perish with him forever; but the righteous ones shall inherit everlasting life with the Lord forever and ever..

As a watchman my purpose is to show how a hidden mistake by Benny Hinn reveals he has a false power. He said in his video that he is no longer going to use gimmicks like give a 1,000 $ a sowing that will bring the same. He has apologized for many errors through his ministry at different times. One was in Dec. 1991 when he said the Jesus died a sinner heresy. He apologized. He taught God is 9 and not three. Trinity that is. He also revealed he got his power from Cullman's grave which is a familiar spirit.

In his video he also says that God hates what he does in false prosperity but he focus on others as well saying that.

The thing is that he never quit laying hands on people and they still fall under the power. No one seems to be saying anything about it. The bigger point is not just the man, but what Hin-du. The Kundalini spirit is being poured out on many instead of the Holy Spirit.

It has been said that yogi is a serpent who climbs up the spine to give knowledge. Sounds like more rebellion from the garden The serpent in the tree in the garden to give knowledge of good and evil--to me. The wisdom of the Holy Spirit is far above rubies.

Not sure if this would be better in the book section or here, I guess I can move it later if someone starts an in-depth study of Mark or at least use it to introduce Mark. I hope others will upload their notes... remember, they don't need to be perfect, exhaustive or even complete...(if we wait for that this area will never take off.) Maybe as we go along everything will be fleshed out, especially if you aren't shy in sharing. Almost all of my stuff has been done on the fly; I haven't prepared it like I would prepare a book. My purpose in this note is to motivate!

************************************************************

I think there are many different ways that people learn so we shouldn't automatically think that what works well for one will work for others.

Personally, I like to get the big picture first and then focus closer on the details; this keeps me (hopefully) from taking things out of context. For example, I'm studying the Gospel of Mark. I started a while back and have read it through three or four times. To me, when I re-read the book I'm studying, I never fail to see things that I've missed in past readings. If you can it is best to read the whole book at one sitting.

After the first reading or so, I like to read an overview of the book to get some of the background. I've got a ton of stuff I use, things like Unger's Bible Handbook (Halley has a good one), J. Sidlow Baxter's Explore the Book (one of my favorites!)etc.. In addition, all of my commentaries have a brief overview of each book before they get into individual verses. I like the old timers -- Matthew Henry, Clarke's, etc.. I then read the book again with the background information and insight about the author, date, purpose, in mind.

It is a good idea to find logical divisions in the book by attempting an outline, or use one provided by the overview material you've read.

Mark has a distinct dividing line in chapter 8:31. The tone of the book changes dramatically at this point.

Studying a book is like looking at the book with a camera that has telescopic lens. First get the big picture, and then focus the camera a little closer by looking at the major divisions. Focus a little closer and you'll see more detail. The beauty of doing a study this way is you are at all times letting the text speak.

Expository preachers do this all of the time. We often think that expository preaching focuses on the details of a particular verse, or maybe even a particular word in the verse, but expository preaching/teaching can be done on whole chunks of Scripture at a time... what makes it "expository" is when you let the verse/chapter/book, speak its message.

If I were preaching on the book of Mark, the first thing I would attempt to convey is the character of the book-- and the character is one of "ACTION!" I would title the book "MARK!" and explain the exclamatory nature of the book! Just read the first chapter and you will be overwhelmed with the speed of the action line! One can barely take a breath between verses! The book doesn't focus much on what Jesus taught but on what He DID! If you lose count of the telephone poles that are blurring past like a picket fence--DON'T WORRY!--you can CATCH IT ON THE NEXT READING!

Then abruptly, a change takes place in 8:31 and the discerning reader becomes aware of another, seemingly contradictory, thread that is destined to derail the progress of what seems to be coronation of the King and restoration of His Kingdom. One can almost feel the denseness of the disciples as Jesus attempts to reveal the true purpose of His mission--the fact that He must first fulfill the prophecy of the suffering servant of Isaiah 53 before He can be crowned as King of Israel.

But if they were slow in understanding, it didn't take them long to embrace the ultimate purpose of their training found at the end of the book:

Mar 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mar 16:19-20 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Anyway, I've got a long way to go, but those are some of the results of my overview study.

Studying the Bible can be exciting but it can also be laborious… don’t give up if it seems to be a dry exercise for a period of time, keep going and you will eventually be rewarded with blessing!

William
