"Well if I made any sense here and you're not just throwing your hands up in the air over such a one as I Confused then feel free to comment."

Hey Mark,

You write very well, easy to understand(I wish you'd share more, you have much to offer). Again like I said in my post, 'while you and I can probably read through and gleen meat from the bones...' So obviously you've been blessed by some of the things they've written. I can't(and don't want to) argue with you because I haven't done that much reading of christian literature outside of Bro. Freeman.

My point in mentioning that I had a problem in recommending them was what I had just recently experienced with the young seminary students and their friends at the 'Christianity Explored' class and the material they were using for a Bible study. Along with their constant quoting of Packer as a proof text that The Baptism and the Gifts aren't for today. I don't know if you've ever been to Presbyterian or Episcopalian assemblies, but to me(imo) their services and worship are like heavily starched jeans, stiff. And when I tried sharing the truths of the NT concerning what the church should function like, all I got back was J.I.Packer and John Stott says...verses The Bible says.

Maybe that scripture from II Tim.3:5 applies to these men(for me I think it does) but at the same time I see your point of view that you've been blessed and helped by things they've said. btw: Just because I have The Baptism of The Holy Spirit doesn't mean that I side with the 'charismatic movement' of today. I believe, for the most part, that (and I've expressed this opinion before here) the charismatic church today is an embarrassment; ungrounded, seeking after signs and wonders, placing experiences over Biblical truths, being tossed to and fro with EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE.

That's interesting about every christian getting The Baptism in the end times whether they like it or not...I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that...hope it's true, it does seem that without It christians would have a hard time discerning the direction of The Lord.

Also what happened to you happened to me, our body closed down in 1989 and I too was left to make it own my own. I just didn't venture out into the church world that much(after several bad experiences), trying to feed myself with what I had (tapes, books, music). So my 'walls' still exist to some extent, I know I'm very guarded as to what I will read or believe. I'm not afraid of what non-charismatics write or say(or charismatics, for that matter) because I believe I have enough discernment and grounding in The Word to be able to recognize unscriptural statements or teachings.

Anyway, it's hard to say everything in a post, I just endevor to guard the faith I've been given, and don't want anything in my head that would undermine The Truths I have received. Have I missed out of anything by having this mindset? I don't know, I guess time will tell.

Thanks for sharing, God bless,

james

OK I see where you're coming from. I would agree with you on that. I haven't gotten involved in stuff like that. I mostly did my own studies and went to church when something interesting was on.

Incidently I very much regret not having involved my kids in a church of some kind way back. There are some here that are orthodox charismatic and fairly solid. They may not have stayed with the faith message but they would probably have been walking with the Lord. As it is I'm standing believing.

Okay, you really want to hear some music? How about one of the best
songs ever? Just listen to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4KiGH31Mkk

I heard her sing this live with my kids years ago. She sang this song
in a local park... I've never heard anything that comes close to beating
this!

Now don't go and mess the experience up by delving into things you
shouldn't... just enjoy the song!

Blessings,
William

OK, I enjoyed it...... Now let me guess, she was wearing pants when she sang...Oh My! Shocked

I've never heard of her, but that means very little, I've heard of very few contemporary christian musicians.

And this will probably date me for sure...Sandi Patty, Amy Grant, and Debbie Boone.

Back to signs and indicators that reflect that we're in the 'last days'. Here is the link to a survey done in 2007 by Pew Forum of over 35,000 people in the U.S. concerning 13 different moral issues facing those of 'faith'. Among those questioned were Buddhist, Muslim, Mainline church members, Evangelicals, Catholic, Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Hindu, Jewish, and those in between. And the questions range from influence of Hollywood, to homosexuality, to politics, to answered prayers, to belief in heaven and hell.

I found the survey interesting and wasn't surprised by the results; and while I don't make decisions based on USA Today/Pew Forum surveys I do think they often reflect the direction society is headed.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the politically correct position a 'believer' should have in regards to other 'faiths'. We live in a world where true believers are viewed as bigots, hatemongers, religious fruitcakes, uncaring, and a general thorn in the side of society for not embracing their 'humanistic religions', and daring to say that it's through Jesus and Him only that a man can come unto God.

Recently Brit Hume, a TV news media icon was interviewed and in it he was asked about Tiger Woods(in case you live in a cave, he's probably the best golfer in the world) and the huge mess he got himself into through infidelity. Brit said that what Tiger, who professes to be a Buddhist(at least on most of their beliefs, his mother is Buddhist), needed was the Christian faith where forgiveness and redemption are offered. He said he, Tiger, needed Jesus Christ in his life. It's good to hear someone in the media tell the truth, even if the masses won't listen. He's certainly an exception...wouldn't suprise me if they fired him for that remark, someone will probably charge him with 'hate crime'.

Now everyone and his brother are coming out of the woodwork blasting Hume and his religious bigotry, saying how insensitive he was to think that only Christianity offered forgiveness and hope for Tiger. Professors from universities are pointing out the error of Hume's theology, reminding all who will listen that there are many paths to the same 'god', or divine being, or is it a state of obtaining a higher consciousness?

When has God's Word been more applicable to the times than now? 'Last Days'...II Tim.3:1-7 V7 "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN cometh unto the Father, but by ME." ~ John 14:6

I was listening to a christian radio show who said they had been chosen as the #1 talk show of the year.

The entire show was about the movie Avatar. This person said that christians could learn very much from this movie and that every christian should see it.

I really thought I was missing something for him to say this. I have seen trailers and I knew it would be wierd and not of God.
I googled Avatar and occult. It is occult from beginning to end with EVERY WIND OF DOCTRINE.

The truth is being watered down more and more. The church of today has not been taught, but entertained....lulled to sleep. Not only that, while in their sleep, they are jerked awake long enough to get their wallets out for the preacher's $38,000 marble toilet.

Praise Him for a book called Every Wind of Doctrine and the teachings that go with it.

Dad burn William, I thought I deleted that post before anyone could read it. I read that about Ann Coulter online and checked it out on several web sites and it looked legit. But after posting it I got a check in my spirit so I started researching the info to see if it was true. I couldn't substantiate the story about Playboy so I deleted the post.

That taught me a valuable lesson concerning believing what is written on the internet. I determine to be more diligent about what I post in the future. Hopefully not too many people read it, but to those who did, I do not think Ann Coulter ever posed for Playboy, I think it was a internet attack against her due to her political viewpoints. Nah, surely no liberal would do that... Rolling Eyes

I was watching a press conference this morning where Nick Saban, coach of the University of Alabama(who won the National Championship in college football last night) , was being interviewed by the national sports media. He was asked how he turned around the football program in just three seasons and he responded by explaining how he had to change the mentality of the players already there. He said he had to teach and show them how to not only play football at a higher level, but that he had to instruct them on how to live their lives. How to walk down the street, how to deal with others, who to associate with, how to dress, how to carry themselves, what to wear, who to trust, ect.

I thought to myself while listening to him, how that people regard him as a 'god' here in Alabama and heap praises upon him for molding these young men into a championship caliber team. I couldn't help but think of Bro. Hobart Freeman's distractors and critics, who daily blast him and what he taught as legalistic. He tried to mold the lives of (many times young people) folks into the image of Jesus. For it, he is still to this day labeled as a cult leader, the source of many disgruntled X-FA's problems.

So let me get this straight, when one guy tells people how to dress, talk, walk, who to associate with...he's a national hero, compared with the legendary Paul 'Bear' Bryant as the savior of Alabama football. All for the fleeting glory and praise of man, with no eternal value. But when the other man does this, using Biblical principles and examples of how people should dress, talk, walk, who to associate with...for the expressed purpose of molding people into the image of Jesus Christ, he's called a legalist, made mockery of, and ridiculed. He becomes the scapegoat for all their failures and now 25 years after his death, they're still speaking negatively of him.

I find this mind boggling, professing Christians putting a football coach on a pedestal, and bringing railing accusations against a man of God...for basicly the trying to do the same thing, mold people's character into the desired image...one, successful football players; and the other, godly, holy, Christlike disciples.

If you don't 'get' the gist of the comparison, don't worry about it, I just found it ironic...and sad.

I certainly "get it" James.

Those speaking against Dr. Freeman, and what was taught, usually need to look inside themselves and take responsibility for their own failures and shortcomings. Looking at one's reflection, through the light of the Word, is tough. It is even worse when the world sees you as a hypocrite and calls a person out for it. Worse yet, is when we don't listen to our brothers and sisters in the Lord and harden our hearts and go on about our business as if everything is OK.

It is not OK to be this way. Personally, I don't want anymore surprises in this area. I want to remain as pliable as possible and let Him do that good work in me. Spankings hurt, and thorough He is!

It has been hard for me to admit my mistakes and shortcomings, at times.

It was, and still is, a very hard boat to row, the message we have been given. I find that the water becomes more and more clear as He gives me the grace and mercy to change.

I saw a show the other night called, "I Was Dead." I think that was the title. People were sharing about their experiences of being allowed to see heaven when they were close to death. One man said that he had a very hard heart and was very judgmental before his experience. He said, "It is a shame when the good Lord has to almost strike you dead to get your attention."

May He not have to go that far with any of us. Personally, I know He will go very far out of His way to go get even one sheep. I am so glad He found me.

Blessings,

GWB

A short follow up to the 'Brit Hume/Tiger Woods, you need Jesus' politically correct controversy.

An anonymous person wrote this comment in response to a discussion concerning should believers attempt to proelytize those of other faiths...

"You can lead a fool to water...

but you can't make him think.

Or repent."

An interesting play of words on the old saying that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Discipleship is an essential practice and needs to continue. Some of the peripherals that go with the now 25 years past framework of cannot be discounted. It wasn't all good. Depending on who you were, it was not good at all.

James 3:1

For the record, I'm no Saban fan. I think he's an arrogant oportunist - which does tend to be a recipe for worldly success.

For some of us it was a life changing experience in the best of ways. I learned to trust God for myself, have learned to overcome and forgive, have been healed, and have family salvation(some manifested and some I am still believing for.)
There are also many other things, but don't have time to go into them now, except to say the worship was outstanding. I will be eternally grateful for the message that came out of FA, as will my family.

I know it was not a good experience for some people. I have had to sort through a lot myself.

It is on my heart to address these issues; those who have been hurt, especially the children of FA. I am waiting on Him as to what to share.

Back to signs of the 'last days', today's CNN's headlines read, "China Threatens Sanctions Over US Arms Deal".

"China has threatened to slap sanctions on American companies that sell arms to it's rival Taiwan as part of a range of punitive actions Beijing is taking to protest the deal."

Anyone see a shift in power and control, how many times have we heard and read of America imposing sanctions and boycotting nations to influence policy or get them to 'see' things our way? Now that we owe China more that we'll ever repay, they seem to have taken a page out of the American playbook, flexing their muscles with threats of sanctions. Now that we rely on them for much of what we consume, their threats carry weight... Hey, no more cheap plastic trinkets, poisoned food, toys manufactured with toxic lead in them, ect. Plus they might threaten to call in the loan collateral, which would be a vast majority of our National Park and govenment owned land.

I do believe we're in the last days, and I do believe the power has shifted, America is declining(both spiritually, morally, and as a world power).

But to the majority of American Christians it's 'Hey, enough already about these dreadful subjects, we just build a new wing on the church and attendance and offerings are up...Did ya hear? Shirley and Billy Bob are getting married...God bless America, wonder who'll win the Super Bowl?'

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be..." Matt.24:37

Signs of the last days...

Jesus said...

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many."~Matt.24:11

Read these passages of scripture from Isaiah and see if they aren't being fulfilled today by those prophesying of the greatness of America and that the best days lie ahead. I just heard a TV 'prophet' say that 2010 was going to bring the biggest and best FINANCIAL blessings ever, to those who obeyed (he said, God; but God had nothing to do with the false prophecy...except to allow those with discernment to recognize it as what it was and what it represented...fulfillment of true prophecy.) and sent in the amount of 'seed'/offering he said in order to receive the 'abundant' blessings.

" His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.~Isaiah 56:10-12

How can the sheep be warned and protected from the wolves, when the watchmen are blind and ignorant; focused only of the size of 'their' ministry and the allurement of financial gain for themselves?

Feeding Sheep

or Amusing Goats?

by Charles Haddon Spurgeon

1834-1892 (but it could as well be today)

Preparing for Victory

An evil is in the professed camp of the Lord, so gross in its impudence, that the most shortsighted can hardly fail to notice it during the past few years. It has developed at an abnormal rate, even for evil. It has worked like leaven until the whole lump ferments. The devil has seldom done a cleverer thing than hinting to the church that part of their mission is to provide entertainment for the people, with a view to winning them.

From speaking out as the Puritans did, the church has gradually toned down her testimony, then winked at and excused the frivolities of the day. Then she tolerated them in her borders. Now she has adopted them under the plea of reaching the masses.

My first contention is that providing amusement for the people is nowhere spoken of in the Scriptures as a function of the church. If it is a Christian work, why did not Christ speak of it? "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). That is clear enough So it would have been if He had added, "and provide amusement for those who do not relish the gospel." No such words, however, are to be found. It did not seem to occur to him.

Then again, "He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers .., for the work of the ministry" (Eph. 4:11-12). Where do entertainers come in? The Holy Spirit is silent concerning them. Were the prophets persecuted because they amused the people or because they refused? The concert has no martyr roll.

Again, providing amusement is in direct antagonism to the teaching and life of Christ and all his apostles. What was the attitude of the church to the world? Ye are the salt" (Matt. 5:13), not the sugar candy---something the world will spit out not swallow. Short and sharp was the utterance, "Let the dead bury their dead" (Matt. 8:22) He was in awful earnestness.

Had Christ introduced more of the bright and pleasant elements into his mission, he would have been more popular when they went back, because of the searching nature of His teaching. I do not hear him say, "Run after these people Peter and tell them we will have a different style of service tomorrow, something short and attractive with little preaching. We will have a pleasant evening for the people. Tell them they will be sure to enjoy it. Be quick Peter, we must get the people somehow." Jesus pitied sinners, sighed and wept over them, but never sought to amuse them.

In vain will the Epistles be searched to find any trace of this gospel of amusement! Their message is, "Come out, keep out, keep clean out!" Anything approaching fooling is conspicuous by its absence. They had boundless confidence in the gospel and employed no other weapon.

After Peter and John were locked up for preaching, the church had a prayer meeting but they did not pray, "Lord grant unto thy servants that by a wise and discriminating use of innocent recreation we may show these people how happy we are." If they ceased not from preaching Christ, they had not time for arranging entertainments. Scattered by persecution, they went everywhere preaching the gospel. They turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). That is the only difference! Lord, clear the church of all the rot and rubbish the devil has imposed on her, and bring us back to apostolic methods.

Lastly, the mission of amusement fails to effect the end desired. It works havoc among young converts. Let the careless and scoffers, who thank God because the church met them halfway, speak and testify. Let the heavy laden who found peace through the concert not keep silent! Let the drunkard to whom the dramatic entertainment has been God's link in the chain of the conversion, stand up! There are none to answer. The mission of amusement produces no converts. The need of the hour for today's ministry is believing scholarship joined with earnest spirituality, the one springing from the other as fruit from the root. The need is biblical doctrine, so understood and felt, that it sets men on fire.

-by 'Bubsie' - South Africa - 18th Feb 2010.

[Bubsie] dreamt or had an open vision that she was in her bedroom when she heard the voice of God call her and ask her to wake up.
... He asked her to go to a church as there was a man there that
needed her help. No directions were given but as she drove in her car she seemed to know where to go and she arrived at a very large church building: it was magnificently constructed and was a dome-shaped hexagonal building that stretched for a great distance:
there were smaller dome-shaped buildings that were in the back-
ground: she approached the gates without hesitation and entered
a massive parking lot: there were a few cars but very little movement and no people.

As she entered the building she saw the church and many corridors with many offices leading off them and a few people walking around who appeared busy with administration work: they didn't talk or acknowledge her or each other and appeared emotionless with very little movement as they walked as well:

She continued to walk a distance before she saw the door to the
administrative block : it was closed. She opened it and entered
and saw an office, the door was open and as she entered she saw
a man behind a huge desk made of cherry wood: he appeared to
be the minister: he was very well groomed, not Indian, White or
Black, more Middle Eastern looking: he was very well attired in
a smart suit and he had expensive rings on each finger including the thumbs and a watch and chain on each hand respectively:

on the right hand wall of the office she saw a display of knives: they were Eastern, looked Chinese/Japanese.

On the desk itself she saw on the right hand side stacks of playing cards: they were jumbo-sized, next to them were credit cards also jumbo-sized and different brands of credit cards, some known to her like Mastercard and Visa, and some unknown: there was more than one pile of playing cards and credit cards and they were piled on the table.

To the left on the table she saw comic books: like Superman,
Batman and Spiderman: they were also in stacks and piled : In
the middle of the desk she saw a huge appointment book: To the
right of the desk on the floor she saw crates filled with bottled mineral water.

The minister indicated to her to be seated and proceeded to tell her about how busy he was, showing her his appointment book with filled calender booking him for speaking engagements and explaining to her how much he had acquired in terms of book and tape ministry: he spoke with an arrogant, boastful tone, and used his hands to gesticulate to indicate how much wealth was in his possession: his right hand kept touching the credit cards and playing cards as he spoke and his left hand kept touching the comics as he spoke.

He then asked her what she was doing there and she told him, God sent me because you need my help: He then began to boastfully say how no help was needed : she then looked to the left of the office and in the corner stood a statue of Christ: almost like how a painting of Christ is depicted but in statue form: she felt rather than stone or marble this resembled
more a life-like statue like you get in Madame Tussard's.

As she continued to look at the statue while the man continued to expound on why no help was needed, she had a sense that there was life in the statue - especially in the eyes looking at her.

At this point she got up and walked out of the office and began
walking to her car: as she reached the outside of the building, she heard the voice of God again, talking to her in a tongue, saying to her, I asked you to come here because this man needs your help.

As she protested that the man had stated that he didnt need her
help, she heard again the voice of God speaking to her in a tongue telling her to go back and help the man. She made her way back to the office and as she entered to sit down, the man said to her,
What are you doing here, I told you I don't need your help: as he spoke to her he was lifting his right hand and sweeping it across as if to say, see what I have: this was when she noticed that his left arm was missing: it had been cleanly severed at the shoulder joint between the bone and the sleeve of the jacket and shirt had been neatly severed as well: she noticed that it has been surgically removed because of the cleanness of the cut and that the scar was completely healed: she then looked at the statue and at the feet, she saw the man's left arm: it was still covered in the suit
and shirt and in the hand of the severed left arm was clutched a knife.

The man then started to ask her what she was doing there and as
she said, God told me that you need my help, he stopped her and
said, I don't need your help: I can use my right hand to do whatever I want and a few people entered the room and one of them handed him a bottle of mineral water which he lifted with his right hand to his mouth to drink, demonstrating to her that her help was not needed. He then said, I have 2300 (not sure of the exact number he mentioned but it was around this number) of people who work for me who can get me what I want: I don't need your help.

At this point, Bubsie got up and left the room and the building: as she was driving away in her car, again the voice of God remonstrated with her in a tongue that He had told her to come here to help the man and asked her to turn the car back, which she did. This time when she reached the office, she saw immediately that the right hand was missing and as she looked at the feet of the statue, there was the right hand clutching the cards in the hand. The man began to say confidently that she was not needed as he still had his legs and he could walk to get to what he needed.

She left the office again and this time she reached the carpark
when the voice of God again in a tongue told her to go back to
help the man. When she got to the office, she immediately looked at the statue and at the feet lay the left leg of the man, with the shoe and sock taken off: again the neat severing, the surgical healed scar: no jagged edges, no blood: she was not shocked or even upset, merely observant, and each time she entered the office she sat in the chair opposite the man and looked at him and said, God told me to come here as there is a man here that needs my help: The man said to her I don't need your help, see,I can still stand on one leg. He was not as confident and arrogant and she sensed an uncertainty and anxiety in him but she got up and left.

She made it to the door of the building before the voice of God
spoke again telling her, I told you to come here : this man needs your help. She turned back and when she got to the office, she didn't see him and she thought, oh good, he's gone. And then as she looked at the statue, the eyes of the statue were looking down to where the man's chair was, directing her attention to the chair:

she went around the desk and saw the man slumped in the chair:
the right leg had been neatly severed. At this point the people
that had offered him water from before came into the room and
lifted the man in the chair and strapped him into the chair with what looked like a seat-belt: the man asked her, What are youdoing here? and she said, God told me to come here, you need my help.

The man looked at her without arms and without legs and he said, I still have my intellect and my connections and I can be carried around by my people to where I need to go so I don't need your help.

She noticed though that there was no longer confidence and
some degree of fear in him as he spoke. She got up and left the
office and reached the end of the adminsitration building when the voice of God spoke to her again and said, Come now, I told you to come here because the man needs your help.

As she turned around to make her way back to the office, she
realized for the very first time she actually wanted to go in to help the man. Until now she was more obedient than willing. She also noticed that every time she had come back the daylight slowly faded indicating the passing of time and now it was almost dusk.

As she neared the door, the voice of God told her, I want you to be prepared for what you are going to see before you go in. As she entered the office, again she did not see the man and she immediately walked around the large desk to the chair: the man had been decapitated: again a neat surgical scar which had
healed: she did not feel any horror as she looked at this scene:

She then saw the statue come alive and Jesus walked to her and
said, I want you to carry him and revive his heart:... She swept with one hand all the stuff off the table and laid the torso on the table, wondering how it was she was supposed to revive the man's heart: She opened the shirt and then looked towards the knives on the wall as if to see whether she should use a knife to get to the heart and Jesus said to her, No, just touch him. As she touched the chest, the entire sternum split in half: this time it was a fresh cut and she saw the blood line at the point of severing and the two parts of the chest lifted up: both she and Jesus peered in at the same time into the chest cavity: as Bubsie looked where the heart should be, she saw *a stone*:

Jesus did not look surprised by what He saw, but Babsie was: it
was not in the shape of a heart, rather it was just a stone that you see at the side of the road: and as she thought, Now what am supposed to do, am I supposed to revive the stone? She felt the hand of Jesus touch her outstretched hand moving it away: and He said, *No, don't touch it, It's too late.* And she woke up.

When she woke up she asked the Father what she saw: She felt
that *the knives* represented the church's dependence on its own weaponry and other sources instead of the the Sword of truth, *the comics* with fantasy superheroes its powerless ineffective ego-founded demonstration of signs and wonders that have no real power, *the playing cards* and *credit cards* it's gambling in the world of mammon with the prosperity gospel. The statue was theSpirit of Christ, paralysed and confined to an image for identity's sake, more than anything, only allowed to come to life when the head was severed; the bottled mineral water, being its reliance on its own water supply, not the fresh living water that comes from the Father. The absence of genitalia she saw as its inability to be carriers of seed, or reproduce the life of God or bear fruit. The arrogance and refusal to acknowledge its plight until it was too late, despite the many times the Father had sent His prophets in
to offer help, had both of us weeping.

The most chilling aspect was that Jesus as Advocate and Redeemer and Bridegroom was the one who said to the prophet 'don't touch it, it's too late' when the true heart of this system was revealed to be stone.

She had one question - Why did you send me there to help, when
you knew it was too late? And she felt that the Father had sent
His prophets time and time again - and with each Sword of Truth
had exposed and severed first, the false sword octrine/deception)
in the church system (the knife in the cut-off left hand), next to be exposed by the Sword of Truth was the prosperity gospel (cards in the cut-off right hand), next the lie of the false gospel being preached was exposed (the cut-off leg with the foot exposed), then the false leadership structure exposed (the head): all of these were done and sealed (healed scars) the fresh cut to expose the true heart required the prophetic witness and is the final aspect.

A good report from the Revival List

NOTE: For centuries, Haiti has been one of the darkest nations
in the world - full of voodoo and witchcraft - even at the highest levels of government. But now - look at this!!

ARTICLE and YOUTUBE VIDEO BELOW-

AMAZING MIRACLE in HAITI

Jerry Miel is a good friend and radio engineer who served as a
missionary in Haiti with World Team mission when we lived there.
He worked with the Christian station, Radio Lumiere (Radio Light).
He has gone back to Haiti to help in the aftermath of the earthquake and makes these important observations. -- Boxley

AN INCREDIBLE DAY in the HISTORY OF HAITI
-by Jerry Miel (Feb 17).

I think that I will remember this day as one of the most significant in my life, not because of what I did, but for it's meaning...

Today was the one month anniversary of the great Haitian earthquake.

About 3 days ago the Haitian President announced that there
would be 3 days of holiday from work for the purpose of fasting
and prayer. This is absolutely historic. If you have ever been in Haiti as a visitor or missionary, could you ever have imagined such a pronouncement? Could you image such an announcement from the U.S. President? This morning I saw a young Haitian-American woman, the leader of a work team, crying because the Americans could not understand the incredible importance of this day and wanted to go about business as usual. Remember, it was only about 6 years ago that a former Haitian president called the nation to come together to rededicate the nation to Satan.

This was not "a minute of silence for the deceased" or something as equally insignificant. Whatever the President might have originally intended, this became a real commitment for the Haitian people. As I sit here this evening, I can hear the preaching coming from a nearby church. Services have been going on all day...

Let me tell you what I saw and felt today.

Peniel and I had planned an inspection trip up to the Artibonite Valley today. Right or wrong, I don't really know, but since it was the only opportunity, we went ahead with the trip. As we left the guest house about 7:30 am, we were met by throngs of well dressed people headed to various churches. The sounds of Christian music and worship filled the air everywhere. The next observation was that there was NO traffic. Port-au-Prince streets are always clogged and overflowing with bumper to bumper traffic.
This morning there were only a few vehicles on the roads, a few
small buses (tap taps), some UN and military vehicles, and a few private cars. We had clear sailing through town. The same was true of foot traffic. Usually the streets are clogged also with people walking. Today there were only a few and many of them dressed for church. The only place that there were traffic blocks was in front of several churches where the congregations had overflowed the buildings and the yards and had moved out into the streets as well.

The next observation was that EVERYTHING was closed! We
could not find even one business or gas station open. There were no intercity buses running. Whereas the sidewalks are usually overflowing with millions of street venders, we only saw a few here and there. The huge outdoor market near the wharf where thousands work each day and is spread out to cover most of the street, was EMPTY.

Where were all the people? They were in churches and makeshift
meeting sites. Every church (except a JW church) had services
going on, almost always overflowing into the streets. Beside
broken down churches, services were taking place outside. In
homeless camps, there were services. Everywhere the nation was
gathered to worship and pray. No, I did not see any voodoo,
Islamic, or Buddhist services. This scene was repeated in every town and hamlet that we passed during the day.

Tonight, Pastor Ignace, who is sharing the room with me, asked
this question: "Can people still say that Haiti is a voodoo country?"
What has been happening and is continuing to happen in Haiti did not happen because of the earthquake. It has been happening
because the Haitian people know how to pray. This is a tremendous outpouring of God's power as the result of prayer. Twenty years ago I started praying for the Gospel to change the Haitian culture.
I think that I am seeing God do that work.

The only sadness that I feel today is for our nation. While a nation that has long been under Satan's domination is turning to God with total commitment, our nation, founded on Godly values has rejected God and is rapidly trying to forget that his name even exists. Let us pray for revival.

Wow, that was an awesome video sincerely. It looked like this phenomenon
was more people driven than leader driven. Even though it was President
Prval that initially called the people to pray and fast it appeared to
escalate quickly to a scale that was beyond man's capability to control!

Awesome, really awesome!

Blessings,
William

Hey William,

I really believe that when our leaders call the nation to prayer, God answers in a big way.

I remember when Jo Bjelke Petersen called Queensland to prayer for rain, it broke the drought, or rather, the Lord answered.

It seems to be a spiritual principle. I believe that, anyway.

God bless

Yes, you are right... especially when that leader has humbled himself, or
been humbled by God. The very act of prayer in these situations is an act
of humility.

God may end up using a nation of Haitians in this end-time to really
confound the wisdom of this world (both religious and secular).

We already have an example of Him doing just that through that unlikely
group of Galileans. (Can anything good come out of Galilee?)

Apparently all of the apostles were Galileans except Judas. There is a
reason for that.

Why Galileans? Why Haitians?

Why us? (Do we fit the Galilean pattern? ... I wonder sometimes.)

Blessings,
William

Didn't this happen in Georgia or somewhere around there a couple yrs ago. Too much rain or drought I can't remember. The Governor and some of his aides along with a group of religious leaders prayed on the steps of the capital building for God to send help and he did.

Hello Sincerely,
Really enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing. I hadn't heard this was to happen, but a friend of mine heard something about this, so she was very blessed to hear how it went. Have you ever read the book about Rees Howell's the intercessor? That is a very good book of how God can use people who will stand in the gap for situations. The Lord used Rees and some others to change history during World War II, if I remember the story right. I will have to get the book out again and read it, as it is a very good book.

Can anyone help me remember the name of the man who trusted God to supply for an orphanage he was lead to start? Never asked a man for anything, only went to Lord in prayer and believed that God would supply their every need. And God did.

Hope all is going well with you. As it is going to turn to Spring here it must be turning to fall there. Do you have falls like us in the Midwestern United States with the leaves turning colors and falling off the trees? I know you had said it doesn't snow where you live. I live in Michigan and we have beautiful seasons here. The snow we get is very pretty, I hope you get to see it someday. Lord bless and keep sharing!

That was George Muller. He lived in Bristol England.
It is estimated he received over $2million in his lifetime not to mention the food etc.

Yes, in Nov. 2007 Gov. Sonny Perdue and about 250 members of the state congress had a prayer meeting for rain to break the drought that covered most of Georgia and southern Alabama. It did rain and the conditions improved.(there is a lot of farming in the area most effected)

Alabama and Georgia have been at odds over the useage rights of the natural water supplies from the river that serves as the border between the states for years.

G'day Sage & all,

Hope I am not leading off topic here.

I posted those sites above as they both deal with last day issues. I take what helps me to keep up with the hour in which we are living.

Re Rees Howells, I have read that book a few times over the years. I am amazed how the Lord raises up intercessors for Israel at crucial times.

"Appointment in Jerusalem" about Lydia Prince is possibly my favourite book. She was another the Lord commissioned for that time. I also read a book by Hannah Hurnard where she, too, spent the war years interceding for the Jews. Corrie ten Boom & family had the same heart. It is books like these that have encouraged me to want God's best for my life.

Through these books & other ways, the Lord has given me a real love for this people. We are the people of the Book. I am not writing to cause "discussions", just commenting because we are in the last days.

God bless

Thanks Grandom,
I'll have to look for my George Muller book and Rees Howell's and get edified and encouraged when I see what God will do with just one willing vessel.

" for filthy lucre's sake..."

"For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake." Titus 1:10-11

'Whose mouths must be stopped'... I watch these TV beggars promising whatever people want to hear,(which is usually how God is going to give them a 'big' return, 100 fold, on their seed offering) and perverting God's Word by using scriptures to entice people to give them money. This week the two biggest 'Christian' networks, TBN and Inspiration Network, are having their 'beg-a-thons'. TBN calls theirs the 'Spring-Praise-A-Thon' and Inspirational calls theirs 'Campmeeting', and they bring in the 'biggest guns'(hired big name ministers) they can muster to raise money.

Last night I watched a well know 'prophetic minister' in the Charismatic camp, 'prophesy' that God told him that He was going to place a special anointing upon everyone who sent in X amount of money, and that it would give them a special financial harvest and blessing for the next 360 days...On the other network they were saying basicly the same thing, just using a different twist on scripture and a different money amount with a little different promise for financial 'harvest'.

Why am I 'harping' on this? This has grown, with the aid of satellites and technology, to where they are reaching into homes worldwide and "subverting whole houses, teaching things which they ought not". Instead of utilizing it for The Gospel,(as they claim is their purpose) they are teaching false doctrines and leading many astray(Yes, I'm sure people are saved by the Word spoken, and that is wonderful, but what happens next? They're taught all these false teachings and doctrines of greed and give to get...and more)

What should Christians be doing, sitting back and saying, 'judge not...'?

Or warning and exposing,...'whose mouths must be stopped...'

Is this a twisting of scripture, or is this true? Comments?

We know that God is sovereign and that His will will be done in this nation as well as the world. But we're told to pray for our leaders, from the Supreme Court judges, to the Congress, as well as the President(whether we agree with their political positions or not)

President Obama has surrounded himself with a group of 'spiritual advisors' from all different 'religions' and denominations. Here is the story and a list of who the advisors are and what they represent.( can you imagine how God would have dealt with Israel if one of the kings had surrounded himself with these type 'prophets and spiritual advisors'?)

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/religion/index

Scroll down to the 3rd story titled, "Obama relies on a spiritual cabinet for prayer, inspiration'. Actually the first two stories also reflect the state of where American society is in these last days.

G'day,

Hope you don't mind me posting from emails that are sent to me. If it is of no interest to you, no worries.

http://www.resistnet.com/profiles/blogs/george-soros-obamas- puppet

I don't read these articles except for finding out what others think is going on in the world. It is more about being watchful, knowing that time is short.

Makes it more important to see our loved ones rescued & that we work while it is still day. Just living each day is enough to make us stand out like a sore toe. Our light shines because we are different. We don't have to try & be different.

I am just amazed at how quickly our way of life, values, mindsets can change. What was once unspeakable is now accepted as normal living.

We are still reeling from some disastrous decisions made in our family. Hard to believe these things could have ever happened after years of prayer.

Thing is there is nothing I can do to fix anything. The Rock is the only Answer. I have been shaken to my bootlaces ( if I had any).

God bless,

God bless,

My heart goes out to you and your family. Many are the afflictions of the righteous., but the Lord delivereth

Them out of them all Ps 34:19. This last year has been a severe time of testing for me and my family as well.
One of my Grandson`s tried to take his own life, but God was faithful to allow our prayers to be answered that he would live.

My youngest sister passed away Dec 25th. My wife`s sister passed away as well. I have a deep and abiding faith in the sovereignty of God. I know that nothing happens to us that has not passed through His hands first. Do I understand all things?
No. I know they are not allowed to destroy my faith but to strengthen it.

Satan is stepping up his efforts to get us to give up. The time truly is short.

I encourage you in The name of the Lord. He has not abandoned you.

As I was reading in the book of Acts something about the last days discription raised a question in my mind, and I thought I'd ask what you guys thoughts were about it.

In Joel it speaks of the last days and how God will pour out His Spirit upon "ALL" flesh, and in Acts 2 verses 17-21 Peter explains that what they were experiencing was the fulfillment of that prophecy. So did Peter believe that they were in the last days, just as we believe we're in the last days, two thousand years later? And if we are in the last days; and I personally believe we are, (but I think Christians throughout history have had the same belief) shouldn't we be looking for and expecting God to pour out His Spirit on 'ALL' flesh?

I also see how the new converted Christians were living a life of expectancy, not only were they totally given unto God in prayer and fellowship and breaking of bread according to the apostles' doctrine, they sold everything they had and shared amongest themselves according to what was needed. They were (I'm convienced), of the belief that Jesus was returning at any time because of the explaination given by Peter concerning the out pouring of The Holy Spirit, and didn't think they had need of houses or having material goods stored up, they were focused on The Kingdom of God as they knew it to be...living with singleness of heart, eating their meat with gladness, and praising God.

What does it mean, 'all flesh'? And are we in 'the last days' now, or are we still waiting for the 'ALL' flesh out pouring of The Spirit?
