The Feasts of Israel are relevant for today:

http://www.gnfi.org/prophecy_articles_feasts_of_israel.php

http://lamblion.com/articles/articles_jews3.php

PS They are not our Salvation. Celebrating the Feasts is not operating under the Law or works. They were not done away with after the OT or NT.

I think that He may be using them to fulfill prophecy. We will see.

They may be relevant for the Jews,, but the gentiles are not required to celebrate past Jewish feasts.

There is a movement now called the "Hebrew Roots", which is trying to bring gentiles under certain Jewish practices. Paul taught against this in the scriptures.

Luke 20:46
“Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts,

Its not about feasts its about Jesus.

I think I know what you mean.

I enjoy going to a feast on occasion. It is not my salvation, though.

I believe they are prophetic for the New Testament, too.

I respect varying opinions about them. It can be an easy way to fall into legalism. Smile

I'm glad somebody does. Very Happy

I don't know if I know sometimes myself.

Hi Gillyann,

Yes I believe as Gentiles we have not understood the significance of God`s appointed feasts to Israel. They teach us so much concerning Christ. They also are the overview in a nutshell of God`s appointed times - Just looking at

the 3 main Feasts -

Passover - we know is Christ`s sacrifice for us.
Pentecost - Christ sending His Holy Spirit.
Tabernacles - Christ dwelling with His people. (in time & eternity)

The Feast of Tabernacles as you would know has the lead up of -

The Feast of Trumpets - the call to repentance in the tribulation. (Joel 2: 15 - 17 Malachi 3: 1 - 3)

The Day of Atonement - When Christ comes to deliver Israel from its final enemies at Armageddon. (Joel 3: 1 & 2 Isaiah 31: 4 & 5 Rev. 19: 11 - 19 etc)

I`m sure you would probably know these Gillyann but wrote them for others who may not.

How wonderful that the Almighty God would tell us ahead of time the whole outline of His plan.

It seems that every time I do celebrate a feast, I learn something new.

The depth of prophecy layered throughout the OT and NT shown by the feasts is a mighty faith builder. They show His plan of redemption from Genesis to Revelation.

Looking forward to your take, as well.

When looking over this link I noticed these people say:

Quote:

Richard Booker observes in a book concerning spiritual meanings of the feasts for the Christian life that for 1,500 years, the Jewish people learned about God through "visual aids" like the feasts. As he puts it, "Their religious laws and rituals taught them how to know God and walk with Him on a daily basis.

But Booker stresses that these were only aids. The time came when the Jews were to put away these physical symbols and enter into the spiritual reality which they portrayed. The transition from the physical to the spiritual was provided for them through the person and work of Jesus, their Messiah and Savior of the world.

As Booker puts it, "Jesus was God's ultimate visual aid." Jesus Himself emphasized this when He said, "Anyone who has seen Me, has seen the Father" (John 14:9).

The Jewish rituals were only temporary visual aids. God used them as object lessons to teach the Jewish people about their coming Messiah. We no longer need these rituals to show us the way to God.

I have to agree with what he is stating.

This man is stating in the link you "shared", he said that: We no longer need these rituals to show us the way of God.

We as Christians no longer need to practice religious feasts that were given to the Jews because now we have Jesus Christ who is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies.

The link you provided is only telling what the feasts were about its not stating we should continue practicing them. Rolling Eyes

It was very good!

Creation Museum has it archived, along with follow up discussion at debatelive.org.

The Creation Museum is close to Cincinnati, Ohio. It is an hour from me. I have been and it is really awesome! They have their rendition of Noah's Ark that you can walk through. They have a planetarium with different shows. They have science displays, etc. you could stay there all day.

When entering and leaving, they have guard dogs that sniff for bombs due to attempts by people to destroy the museum.

Ken Ham founded The Creation Museum. He debated Bill Nye of The Science Guy fame on TV.

Of course, each side is saying they won. Ken Ham was able to share a lot of the Word. To me, Bill Nye was very condescending and arrogant which is the general consensus.

Hundreds of news channels were represented. They said 170 countries watched with more than 5 million viewers as a conservative number. That was how many clicked to view, but many churches and auditoriums were packed behind one click.

I had no idea how many PhDs were pro creation. In the follow up, it was explained that a tree can have more than one ring per year and that there are many layers to one year in geology and in ice. These were important points for the evolutionist, saying that one ring or layer was just a year. He clearly did not know what he was talking about.

Ken Ham also stressed how the word science has been hijacked when explaining both sides. It is true. There is much science to prove intelligent design.

All in all, it was interesting and a good show for creationists.

Thanks for asking. I am enjoying your info on the other threads. Good stuff!

Hi Gilly,

Thanks for the overview. How wonderful that there were so many viewers from all over the world. PTL. Trevor & I have supported our Australian Creation Ministries for many years & receive a lot of info from them. The Lord, the Head of the Body through out the world is enabling His ministries to get the word out.

Blessings, Marilyn.
