In 2 Chron. 24: We have a time of the people who knew to walk in God's word. they had been in the past very dedicated to God and it was a very good time under the priesthood. Jehoiada was great. Joash followed him and later turned against God.
In 2 Chron. 24:2o-21 shows how professing God and then leaving him turns to disaster. Zechariah tells the truth that the people must repent and obey God's word.
Yes though he was a Prophet.and was filled with the Holy Spirit,it is the same for those who are filled with the Holy Spirit today. They are called to tell a dark world, especially those who say they are Christians. ( The truth).
For many years the messages of Baptism in the Spirit , tongues, healing ,faith , deliverance, etc, are persecuted more than messages of denominational ideas. Warfare is a spiritual battle that cannot be won with speeches. It is the power of the Holy Spirit to win the elect.
The battle includes the nations but even more the preserving of the kingdom and it's citizens. The world loves it's own, how much more the love for Jesus and his people. Do those who care about the lost people who are persecuted and speak against evil and the battle of evil live total lives for truth. We live in a time where believism does not include righteous ethical lives.
The whole world will rejoice one day over 2 dead Prophets. Revelation ch.11.
In Matt. 23:35 Jesus speaks about Zech. stoned between the porch and the alter. If you go into many churches today if they are not tolerable but reject the Holy Spirit, they will carry you out. I have experienced some of that. praise God I'm still alive.
Many years ago until now my speech has been cut off. Many circumstances have been difficult. most of them were by those who say they are Christians. Free speech has been under trouble for years. When I am alone I quote the word of God freely and it is a blessing because God understands that speaking good words are the greatest privilege mankind has.
I leave you with this joy. Zechariah speaks about Jesus in all 14 Chapters. Only the Lord can help you see most of them as they are spiritual.
faith-- forsake all I trust him. Baal-- believe apostacy all lost. bible-- believe in bible life eternal.
