Frankly, I'm surprised when I encounter a Christian who believes in, and practices, nonresistance. Andrew takes a lot of grief and harsh words from people here in this country who claim to be christian. The fruit produced is always the true way to identify a tree. Satan has decieved SO many in this nation with a blend of patriotism(the flag, military,constitution/'rights'); false doctrines in the institutional religious system (the belief that America is God's chosen nation and that we are a 'christian' nation, that christians should be involved politics, ect.); and a deeply rooted fear that results in the fact that so many can't seem to get enough guns and ammo to protect themselves.

I saw a clip on telivision today advertising a movie about guns and violence where a guy makes this statement:
"Gun control.....is using two hands."
I think that would pretty accurately depict the mindset of lots of people in this country, including many professing Christians.
Nothing like those "god given rights" of American citizens....sleep with who you want; marry who you want; kill the babies you don't want; worship and obey who you want; and shoot anyone treading upon those 'rights'.
I'm sure if Paul was writing instructions to the church of today in our 'modern culture' he would include a Glock 9 mm in the armour of God...after all he was talking about warfare and Peter did use a sword to defend Jesus.
"Things sure have changed since the first three centuries of Christianity!" Yes, they have!
