Levels of Biblical Authority [message #11015] |

I was just reading someone's ideas about levels of biblical authority. I've always thought that repetition of a biblical concept is an important factor. For example there are 3 verses that say that water baptism is in Jesus name, and a number of other NT verses that further support that doctrine about baptism in a name, etc. All those makes that a solid biblical doctrine. I've often used it to see if professing believers are actually willing to APPLY the clear will of God. If they won't follow clear scripture that is simple and plain, how will they commit their live to the death?? Faith without works is dead. Thank you. True believers in the will of God - respect His scriptures.

Many of the former Faith Assembly people don't really seem to place importance on that doctrine anymore (even omitted from some statements of faith). Also most churches don't practice it and most pastors and members won't deal with the scriptures on it. I have seen it as important in sharing over the years and still a timely and current issue. I really wouldn't trust a person that wouldn't come around to it. It tells a lot about people's love for God.

This may be the first place I've been in a long time where people may actually be seeking to see restoration of NT Christianity. A lot of other people have seemed to follow with the end time apostasy and lukewarm end time church. Thanks again.

The fact that you claim to be an apostle, does that mean that you came here to set yourself over us and to hold us accountable to your authority ?
We are submissive one to another, tho none of us claim to be anything other than Saved by Grace thru Faith in Jesus Christ.
If you are truly an apostle, we will know you by your Fruit !
Time will tell !

PS - I received my call to Apostleship when Jesus appeared to me similar to Paul in Acts 9.
Can you tell us about that? I realize some of it may be private but people in the bible shared a lot.
I realize this may sound like a stupid question but ... what did he look like? Can you share anything of what he showed you?
I saw the Lord once. Taken into the spiritual realm in a dream. He never said anything to me just walked by and smiled to me. It happened when I had been through a number of serious trials and he wanted to encourage me.
Apostleship is not something to be high minded about.
I agree. I have long been of the opinion that anyone with a true call will have gotten rid of the pride long before stepping into that office
