"But they that wait upon The LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."Is.40:31

If you enjoy nature you can click on the link below or Google "Decorah Eagles" (located in Decorah, IA) and watch live ustream tv feeds of a pair of eagles that have been nesting in the same area for 7 years.(in a large cottonwood tree by a salmon hatchery in rural northern Iowa) I've watched them for several years(not nonstop lol), they always fledge out three eaglets. Right now they look like they're sitting on a mound of snow but there are 3 eggs beneath them. The eggs will hatch in about 35 days. You can read beneath the live broadcast for info about them, I really enjoy watching them, especially when the babies hatch and mom and dad start feeding them, they grow so fast.

First egg hatched this morning, I was concerned due to the extreme cold they had in Decorah this winter but the parents did a good job protecting the eggs. The mother and dad were so excited, I wonder if they were concerned about the weather? The fun begins now in watching the babies grow over the next couple months. I don't know who, if anyone, has watched but a couple weeks ago I had it on and the ground was covered with snow and the camera picked up several deer down below digging around in the snow searching for some grass, so neat.

Interesting!

We always kept up on the nest in Florida. They have a lot of ads now.

I was surprised about this article. Everyone was in a uproar because the authorities let the baby eagles die on their webcam:

The viewers were horrified! LOL

I hadn't kept up this year as I have in past years (I checked on them about 10 days ago). At first I thought your article was about the Decorah eagles but it was a nest in Maine. But it appears that they're having some problems in Decorah also this year, as the eagles prepared to fly and strike out on their own one has broken a wing and another was found seemingly weak and hungry. But the good news is they are being taken care of and appear to be on their way to a successful life in the wild.

First egg of season...

The mother eagle has laid her first egg and is sitting on it, she should lay two more over the next few days. It looks cold there with the snow.

It was 18 here this morning with wind chill making it into single digit temps.

I hear the weather channel guy this morning making jokes about how cold it is in the New England area...
