Christmas Meetings

Tom Hamilton and Mike Guthrie (from Virgina) have meetings every year in Knoxville Tenn. Is anyone else going? Another bro and I from Canada here are going this year. If anyone is going it would be nice to meet and put a face to a handle. Smile

By the way I guess I should put a note on about Tom Hamilton. There have been all kinds of rumors go on about him for years.I have had sincere bro's tell me I shouldn't fellowship with him.
Another minister told me Tom believes Bro Freeman was "deceived" on the issue.
Well I can't speak for him but I was on his automatics for years so I do know what he said. What he said was he did not agree with Bro Freeman on the greater works ministry. He believes we will go in the first fruits rapture and be with the Lord. The greater works ministry was an addition from bro Freeman and those of us who are closer to the end now can see things more clearly.
That's all he said. I have that on his tapes. I don't agree with him and neither does bro Guthrie but that shouldn't stop us from fellowshipping with him.
Other than that as far as I am aware he is in basic agreement with the same faith message most of us hold to.
If you have heard something else it is probably rumour or "worse" gossip. Lets have a little christian love toward our bro in Christ especially teachers!
If you have heard something else and it bothers you put a note on here (it's the perfect place to do it)

I've been offline for a few days and just saw this. It might be a possibility for me. It isn't that far to travel, about 6 hours, I believe.

Blessings,
William

Hello everybody.

New to this site. Still learning how to get around.

Just saw the info about the meeting this weekend. Would like to be there, plans are already made though.
Does Tom Hamilton still have the church in Louisville? I have been in the area a number of times. Just couldn’t find any information on it.

Welcome brother, glad to have you aboard!

Like Ron said, feel free to share a little about yourself. We've been around for almost two years here and you can probably figure out whether or not you want to keep company with us by reading our posts!

Thanks for the welcome.

A little about me.. Ok here goes.

I wasn’t a member of Faith Assembly though I did have a chance to visit a number of times and meet Bro Freeman. I was a member of little church in Poultney, Vermont. I still hold to a lot (most) of the teaching of the Faith message. Kind of feel like I’ve been going through the wilderness and God still remains Faithful and continues to confirm the path I’m on. I do miss the fellowship and teachings. I have a burden for others that allowed bitterness to take over.
Boy it’s been along time, 17 years, I have had some opportunities to fellowship and worship with other brothers and sisters from Poultney. So much has changed, and no matter how much things and people change – I still have the same Rock to lean on. To put it plainly – Between the worship songs and meditating on the Word has been what has kept me going. I can say there has been a number times over the years one feels like giving up. It’s really hard to put into words what I’ve experienced through the years. I can say this – That no matter what setting I’m in, it just doesn’t feel quite right. Unless it is with other believers.
I have had a chance to read a number of the posts – That all takes time, and look forward to future posts. I know a number of them have helped me.

I ran across this site about 6 months ago and at the time the Lord had other things in mind for me, so no time was left for searching.

Grace and Peace in the name of Jesus,

Jim

My brothers and I stopped in and has a chance to meet Tom Hamilton a couple of years after Bro Freemen died. We didn't make to the service (got lost) but made it right at the end. He might remember us? Maybe not - long time ago. Thanks for the info on his service. I visit there a couple of times a year and look forward to stopping in.

Hi, brother. I am a recent member (today!). I've been surfing the site and came across this, so that's why such a late reply.

Right after I received Jesus, I started going to meetings taught by Tom Hamilton. Got a lot of good grounding there. Glad to see this thread and to know he is well.

Also, I know about "wilderness." I left FA (not critically) in 1985, and it has seemed like wilderness since. I am not looking to go "back to the good old days" (in part because trying to hold on to the past is idolatry--while by grace holding on to the truth of the past and pressing on is what God wants), but I'm grateful for what I received and long to see these life-giving truths restored and disseminated to a greater degree. Call me strange, but I think God's message usually comes out more than once...I'm seeing small signs of it today as God stirs in some unexpected places with a new generation... .

I take hope that God is going to bring us out of wilderness, with a clearer view of and more intimate relationship with Him and will yet redeem that which needs redemption in my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters who love and are looking to Him.

God bless your day, brother.
