Dave,
I just finished reading an account of your testimony from an article back in 1983. My mother just found this series of articles written by a former student of HEF at Grace. He did a couple of one on one interviews with HEF after church and at his home.

Needless to say, it is an eye-opening article, and I was deeply moved by your experience. It's easy to gloss over stories when there are no names attached. However, your story hit me like a brick wall. Even though I was just 6 yrs old at the time, I feel sorrow and regret for what happened. I pray that the Lord will bless you and your family in the future.

Hi Duncan,

I just read the article/s you mentioned (I assume it was the same series written in 83).

Do you know the name of the evangelist guy that owned the tent that was set up in Warsaw and then Goshen?

I did a double take when I saw the picture of HEF's house and first thought that it wasn't the right one until I realized it was taken from the lakeside!

The article mentioned that Dave was a pastor... Dave, if you are reading this, are you still the pastor of that Church?

Blessings,
William

William,
His name was Gary Gregory. My sister and her husband left FA and followed him to Ohio. According to my sister, he kind of went nuts. I don't think he is preaching anymore. She thought he literally went nuts and started talking crazy. That's about all I know.

Right, I had forgotten his name. I do remember that he was very loud in his delivery!

I didn't know that about your sister.

I worked at a trailer factory (Skyline) with her husband (wasn't his name Chris?) early in our FA experience.

Blessings,
William

Yes, his name was Chris. He was an excellent singer. He played guitar and would sing a lot with Ray Boltz. I never really got to know him, but my mom says that he was really on fire for the Lord and felt called to evangelize. He never really got much of a chance to preach, but he ministered through his music.

Sadly, he died in 1984 at the age of 28 of Leukemia, leaving my sister with three small children. She later remarried and moved back to Alabama. She became a nurse after the loss of her husband and is now a pediatric nurse.

Wow, I didn't know that he had passed away either. I do remember his zeal for the Lord, he definitely had the makings of an evangelist... he always seemed to be consumed with a fury of activity!

Blessings,
William

I worked at Skyline back in the late 70's, in the cabinet shop in the Travel Trailer side. What area did you work in? I just ran into some execs from Skyline, on a plane flight a few weeks ago. I mentioned that I'd worked there in the 70's, and they knew Bud Reeves, Jerry Malcolm, and mentioned some other names I didn't know. I have a lot of good memories about that job. It was just factory work, but we had fun, and worked hard.

I remember Gary Gregory. He was rather loud. I had heard that he went nuts, too. Don't know any more about it though.
