Thank you William & GWB for your friendly welcome. I`ve downloaded the book & working my way through it with all your interesting comments.
Q. Is there a category on end-times? Might have missed it. If not can a new category be made?
Obviously an interest of mine.
Marilyn.

Hello Sage, Thank you for your warm welcome & interest. Sorry I didn`t get back to you sooner but I was out yesterday. Perhaps I should have done a quick line to let you know I heard you. I will next time. it`s the time lag between `down under,` & USA.
Yes I will be looking forward to sharing & listening too, on end-times.
Now to answer your questions -
We live in Victoria (the bottom part of Australia) near the great river Murray. I am a river girl & love to swim, fish, canoe & camp near it with an open fire & friends around sharing our hearts. We also find this a great way to build relationships with unbelievers as they open up in such a relaxed environment.
My husband, Trevor & myself married in our `30`s & never had any children but we are blessed with many spiritual children & spiritual grandchildren as the Lord has led us to develop a relational network of people. Many are now peers & we labour together to build relationships & see what the Lord would have for that person.
We used to have a farm raising cattle for market but now we are on a few acres near Trevor`s brothers & he helps them with cattle, cows & calves & hay making. A good life. I love to be able to just walk up the tracks & have time with the Lord.
I taught primary school children but now I am blessed to teach people `discipling,` the `eternal purposes,` & the `end times.` This we find is a great discussion point with unbelievers as it shows how the bible is so accurate & clear with what is happening in the world today.
So Sage, what about you. I would love to hear of your journey in the Lord, your interests of gardening & children?

Hello Marilyn,
I too love to swim, fish, canoe, camp and have camp fires. My mother and father use to have a cottage
on a lake, so as kids we spent our summers there. Do you also water ski? We did as kids, but I haven’t done that for years. How about golf? I looked online about the Murray River you spoke about and found it very nice looking for all kinds of fun outdoor things. The site spoke of hearing cockatoo’s while camping. Here in the United States people buy cockatoo’s for pets and keep them in cages. I am sure it is a beautiful sight and sound to see and hear them in nature. The last few years I have been taking care of my elderly mother so I haven’t been able to go camping, but a little under a month ago she died. On a Friday she asked Jesus into her heart and she died Saturday morning about 10:40. It is such a blessing to know she is now with Jesus, never again to experience any pain or sorrow. In October a friend and I are going camping someplace in northern Indiana and go visit this place called Jasper Paluski Wildlife Area. Sand Hill Cranes stop by a big field and swamp area on their way down to Florida and Texas. There can be thousand’s and thousand’s of cranes there at one time. It is so fun to watch them. They stand about 5 feet tall. I am also planning a trip to Texas to visit a couple cousins and aunt and uncle I haven’t seen for decades. It will be a fun trip as one of my cousins is a Christian, so the fellowship should be wonderful.
Your farm sounds really interesting being around the cattle and cows. Are some of the cows milking cows? (Hope that sounds right.) Also, there is nothing like a good steak by a camp fire. I had a very small garden as there are some tall trees around my home so I don’t get enough sunlight for a big garden. I do go to a farmers market and buy tomatoes to can and also make salsa to can. Next year I hope to freeze corn, but didn’t have enough time this year. I am not married, and do not have any children, but the Lord blessed me with a niece who I am close to. She has a little 6 year old daughter who I took care of all summer. My little niece and I have a great time together. She is learning Spanish so she tries to tell me all these Spanish words and sentences. I think I better start learning or she will be talking to me and I won’t know what she is saying. She told me the other day she asked one of her little friends at school if he was going to heaven, and he said he didn't know. So she told him he needed to ask Jesus into his heart. She said she has done this, so I just need to pray for her and trust the Lord that she did ask Jesus into her heart. Take care and looking forward to more insights the Lord has given you and your husband.

Yes, The LORD is calling His people out of false religion and dead works...unto His Work.
This morning I received an e-mail from our friend and brother, Dick, linking to an article in which the pope had made the statement in a newspaper interview that one didn't have to believe in God to go to heaven. He is quoted as saying, "The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience."
My daily devotional reading had me reading John 17 and Jesus' prayer to The Father on our behalf. He asks that we not be taken out of the world, but that we be kept from evil(John 17:15), Later in the prayer He asks that we be santified through The Truth, "Thy" TRUTH. We know that to be santified means to be set apart unto God; people can't be set apart unto God if what they're given as truth is in fact false doctrine and unbiblical.
It could easily be us deceived by these false doctrines except for the Grace and Mercy of God...I pray for those who have been deceived by this false religion and follow the teachings of a man who they believe to be God's voice on earth...may they 'come out of her' and be not partakers of her sins.
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”

Hi Sage,
Thank you for your interest. And yes the Murray River is a great place with lots of river towns along the way. Compared to the USA I think our towns are tiny villages & be quite quaint to you. Cockatoo`s, kangaroos, & all manner of wild life are around the camping sites. Very natural.
I so felt for you regarding your mother, probably as I have recently gone through the same with my dear mother. How wonderful & special that you were able to care for her & that she received the Lord. I was there at my mother`s last breath & know that she was `promoted to Glory, ` as we say.
So glad you have friends & family that you can visit & camp with. Hope all goes well. And that would be fun trying to speak Spanish with your little niece. I think `amigo,` is my limit from the movies. So good to hear she has talked to her friends about the Lord. I see that with my friends grandchildren, their trust in simplicity in the Lord & sharing with friends. This is how we see the Lord operating through us out in the everyday & helping & encouraging each other in that.
Now the farm. Yes some are milking cows from a neighbour which are being agisted (!)- run on our brother`s land, eating the grass for feed. Neighbours here share which is good.
How did you learn of this site?

Hi Marilyn,
I took my little niece to the zoo a few weeks back and saw the Wallaby, which I think is a lot like the kangaroo. There was a baby Wallaby along with two adults, and they were so cute. Once in a while when camping we'll hear different kinds of owls, but it would be so fun to see the Cockatoo and Kangaroo' in their natural habitat.
Sorry to hear about your mother. It is such a blessing to know we will see our relatives again. There is a song where some of the words are: "What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promise land, what a day glorious day that will be." I would always put my mother in the place where it would say "I or me or my" and just thank the Lord for the promise of family salvation: Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, an thy house." I am still trusting the Lord to do the work in my brother and niece to bring them also to a saving faith in Jesus.
I learned of this site a few years back doing a search for a church I use to go to. The Lord lead me here and I have been so blessed by what people share. I couldn't tell you how many times someone shared something that was just what I needed to hear at that particular time. There are some wise and Godly people who share. One plants, one water, but God gives the increase. So, when you share what God has shown you, it might be as a planter or as someone who waters, but the blessing is:
God will give the increase. Well, I better move on. My dog found a baby squirrel in the back yard and he wants to go check on it. I sure hope it's mother comes to get it, as it is suppose to have frost out tonight. I covered it with straw, but don't really know what else to do. Hope it's gone with it's mother by morning.

Thank you Sage, it was interesting to hear of your trip to the zoo. And yes Wallabies are like kangaroos but smaller. here is a kangaroo true story.
Recently my friend, her husband & granddaughter (about 7 years) were up at our favourite camp spot. Their dog got into a stand off with a very large kangaroo which was leaning back on its tail & using its paws to try & draw the little dog in. Well the little dog pranced & yapped around the kangaroo & as they sparred they moved closer to the river. My friend Kay & her daughter, Tahlia were very frightened for the family dog which the kangaroo could slice open if he got too near. So Kay prayed with Tahlia asking for God`s help, & the next thing they saw was the kangaroo toppling into the Murray river & the dog safe on the bank. He didn`t like water. And the kangaroo just swam away.
They all thanked the Lord.
I`m also thankful to the Lord for leading me here to this site & am looking forward over time to get to know different ones & learn together.
Hope the squirrel is safe.

Morning Gary,
Yes that is what Victoria looks like. A very scenic place. If you look on the map at the beginning you will see in the middle a place called Shepparton. (Shepherd`s town) We live near there. The division between the states Victoria & NSW (New South Wales) is the mighty river Murray.
And yes Tasmania is part of Australia. You might have a laugh (chuckle) to know that Kiwi`s (NZ) call us (Aussie`s) the `little island` off the coast of New Zealand. lol.
I am getting into the book & appreciating it. Will have some comments on it soon.

I probably don't agree 100% with anything 'anybody' says except Jesus.
How pious does that sound?
Since it's been over two years since I've read it, I guess the things I remember most and was convicted of was the chapters of idolatry/self and how that hit home with me. I agree there are Christians within the denominational system, I even believe there are born-again pastors/teachers within the system of man. God has a time for revealing things to His chosen people(remember that HEF and most of us were at one time convinced it was of God, along with the holidays and what-not 'stuff') I have softened my views after spending the last 5 months visiting various denominational churches...There are Christians within that system...and sound Biblical teachers/pastors, they're just teaching based on what they have been taught by their denominational creeds and seminaries.imo
In chapter five Newbold says, "If church is not the real thing, then it is a counterfeit. The problem with counterfeits is that they look deceptively like the real thing. Church, as a counterfeit, is presented and perceived as the real thing. Strangely enough, though, it does not even remotely look like the real thing. Nevertheless, we have been beguiled into believing that it is." As I think about this (and agree that it's often true) I think one could substitute the word "Christian" for "Church", and that statement would also often be true.
Rather than measure the church today against The Standard, God's Word, with the pattern found in Acts and the NT, people use a false standard (success, size of blg/membership, income, missions, popularity of preacher, traditions, ect.). Same with people as 'Christians', measuring themselves against others rather than seeking to be Christ-like as revealed in His Word.

James,
Speaking of books, I am presently reading the story of Condoleezza Rice.
What is a real eye opener is that Birmingham was totally racist in the sixties and seventies. Bull Connor the local mayor was totally racist and he tried everything in his power to keep it that way.
I'm almost rolling on the floor laughing at the thought of someone in America who grew up in the generation we did not being aware of the racism issues. I have lived in Montgomery, Alabama during the early 70's and Birmingham the last 9 years.(the hotbed of racial tension and social/racial change over the last 50 years.) You musta had your eyes tightly squeezed shut...LOL
Do you remember any of this taking place as a young person while growing up in the South?
I remember it very well...too well! When I told you my grandfather was a member of the Klu Klux Klan I wasn't joking...
I would of been a teenager during this time. I guess we were sheltered from what was taking place in the South back then.
Sheltered, or your teachers in school used different text books for American history. lol
Her life growing up in the South is a very interesting story to say the least. I would never of dreamed Birmingham was one of the hotbeds for racism.
I never 'dreamed' anyone didn't know that. Just in case you're still in the dark concerning racism, it's still alive and well today...it lives in the hearts of ignorant, prideful, fearful, lost people who need Jesus...and they live in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and Indiana; not just in the Deep South.

James,
To be totally honest here, "no" we did not know and they did not teach on this in school. There was several black students in our school and they were close friends with all of us.
I do remember when Kennedy was shot but I don't know if I actually knew the motive of why he was murdered. It was just a tragic event that took place in Texas.
I don't think in Indiana they had segregated areas. We all used the same water fountains, restaurants or whatever. You must remember back in history many in this state helped the Black people escape to Canada. But even this was not taught in our schools I learned it after I became a Christian.
In fact I read a book after becoming a Christian, about a man who was still a slave in the south during the sixties, he finally ran away and escaped. His book is very interesting its about the life of Robert Sadler.
I don't remember you telling me you had relatives in the clan. They existed around here but I did not know it until the late seventies.
Sorry that was not part of the scene here at all. My best friend in the Military was black he was from Pennsylvania.
Maybe it was different for others here but I don't remember my family ever saying anything racist or hateful towards the black race.
One more thing, we did not have tv back then like they do today, so the news was not part of our lives.
Gary
