For those of you that don't know.

Tom Hamilton passed away yesterday (April 7th). He was in his office working on his sermon for Sunday when the Lord called him Home.

Thanks Mark, my heart goes out to his family and those in Shelbyville who will miss him the most.

Grandom sent me an email informing me of his passing that I read just before logging in to OO this morning.

Yes, prayers for his family and flock. Sounds like he was dedicated to the end!

James, tell Grandom we really miss his wisdom (and him too! <grin>). Maybe he'll grace us with a visit!

Blessings,
William

That's sad to hear in one sense, my heart goes out to the family. Its amazing how many people we knew have already went on to be with the Lord.

My wife and I went to the Sunday afternoon "Memorial" Service and "Afternoon get-together" at his daughters.

Here's a little more information on his passing: He was working Tuesday evening on the next nights message, He had two scriptures written out, Phil 3:21 The changing of our mortal bodies and James 4:14 We do not know tomorrow - plan for today! Life is as a mist - here, gone.

Brother Tom then leaned back in his chair and went to "sleep". The coroner told the family that he had never seen a death like this, no struggle o fighting, just peace. He died healthy.

A shepherd never abandons his sheep, not if he's a true shepherd . Of all the pastors/teachers (shepherds) that I knew of within FA circles (and I sure didn't know them all) Tom Hamilton and Bobby Freeman (Auburn, Al.) are the only two who remained faithful to their calling. Again this isn't a judgment of the other dozens of 'faith' ministers, but just to say to my knowledge, they both were faithful until the time The Lord called them home.
