Take a look at this article. Why are they comparing Obama to Jesus?

http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/inauguratio n-poster-likens-obama-to-jesus.html

This is very strange indeed!

Yep, very strange indeed!

He doesn't have a lot of support here in the south which makes it difficult to take this mania seriously but apparently the hysteria is real... some are almost worshiping the man.

William

This made me think of the AntiChrist coming forth to the world.

Not saying this guy is him but it sure sounds like someone thinks he is someone.

I know everybody has been saying this for years, but I think we are closer to the end of time then what we realize.

William, your comment about the lack of support the president got in the south made me think, so I looked up the results of the 2012 presidential election. Barack Obama got 38.4% of the votes in Alabama, that's nearly 40%, which means almost 60% of Alabama voters voted for M. Romney, the Mormon guy. And now some are refering to President Obama as Jesus, or a saviour figure. I noticed Jamie Foxx's name mentioned, since he's a comedian you'd think he could find some great material for his act from those two guys.( I could )

Imagine how big of an impact the 'real' AntiChrist will make when he shows up...and he probably won't even demand that 'american christians ' give up their guns.

Obama might have been the savior in some people's eyes but no more than Romney was in the eyes of the Christian Republican party! <grin>

Think about this, in one person (Obama) we have a man that people are comparing to Jesus, and marketing him the saviour of america...and in the other (Romney) is a man who's religion believes in men becoming god's in their own worlds. The quest for power is indeed intoxicating...

I pray both of them come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

I honestly could see Obama stepping into the world scene in some political move.

At work today the lady had the tv on for the inauguration, Obama mentioned about his gay brothers, more reform, and the need for greater change that as he said, "the American people want".

Then some cheesy preacher gets up and prays for the gays and the rest of us. The media has control of this new age mindset and their pushing it to the limit. They kept bringing up about peace and prosperity under Obama's reign.

We may all see a total drastic change take place in the next four years.

Its been a year since this article was published and we've yet to see all this prosperity that was to come on the scene.

I happened to notice the painting in the article (never paid attention to it before), and it looks like the statue of liberty is wearing a burka with a ak-47 in her hand. (Well kind of!), and what's with all the buzzards flying around in the painting about? Is she holding a barrel of oil as well?

What's the old Chinese proverb, "A picture is worth a thousand words". The painting is about as strange as the article.

It appears everything on the world scene is increasingly getting worse. Russia taking over the Ukraine, while Jihad terrorists are reclaiming Iraq. Hamas is constantly bombing Israel while the world says nothing. The price of oil is almost 4.00 a gal in our area.

The times are sure changing.

In Him,
Gary

Just so you can see that someone is 'paying attention' Smile ...you must mean the price of gas is almost $4.00 a gallon in your area.....because oil is about $4.00 a quart around this area.

But the times, they are changing, for sure. I'm so grateful we have something to focus on besides the negative, the positive promise of Jesus' return (the one and only Saviour) and the coming Kingdom of God, when all men will behold the Glory of God... that's great news.

I don't know if being aware of world events is being negative. Jesus said many events would be taking place and to be aware of the times.

I guess if you were on some denominational love boat it could be considered negative. Very Happy

Your right my mistake its gas not oil.

I'm not going to take that statement personally, but for those who are chosing a boat (to get on), are you suggesting that the right one would be the "nondenominational no-love boat" in order to see clearly that world events going on around us are to be considered as 'positive' and should be the focus of followers of Christ?

btw: In no way was I thinking or suggesting that 'you' were being negative, I was just offering encouragement and a reminder that we have much better things to focus on, should we choose.

I was re-reading this thread and found this youtube video from 2009. It references a European Parliament speech where Gordon Brown was castigated for his role in nearly bankrupting their economy. The same speech could be given in the US today. So much for all of the the 'savior' talk... it has all but died here.

Very good video clip. I think people do realize that this present administration has fallen short of helping the country. I've heard talk at work where people are concerned that nothing is being done to help the economy.

Take notice that the media is already making Hillary look like the answer to all our problems as a nation. People are easily swayed by the media.

The other side of the coin is that all these world events are paving the way for the Antichrist to come on the scene.

Failing economies, and finances gets every ones attention pretty fast. There's still a lot of money floating around but wages are not keeping up with inflation. I hope what I am trying to convey is understandable.

I agree though the savior status has been swept under the rug. Thankfully we can "rest" in the Lord knowing He is in control.

In Him,
Gary
