Hi,
Gary is going to get me in hot water using a dictionary.
Marylin,
I see "cantankerosity" because you come up with some
idea and then proceed in a head strong manner - as if
you are correct for sure. To me that is being cantankerous.

Some thoughts...(from the viewpoint of a male's hardwired brain...lol)
*Jman, I found it a bit odd that you used the word "cantankerous" in your conversation with Marilyn, in that I had just used it in a PM conversation with Gary the day before(although I mispelled it).correction: I used the word "contankersous" in message 10449 on Nov 30, not in a PM to Gary, sorry. It's Marilyn's fault, her vast expansion of topics and threads are messing up my 'wiring'...LOL Then I saw the link William provided and that answered my question.....we're 'wired' that way...That provided my morning laugh!
Marilyn, I noticed you mentioned you didn't believe denominations and organizations were scriptural and yet you refer to writtings by a person who seems to be involved with these denominations(Apostolic Church of Australia). Would you share whether you're still part of this 'apostolic' movement or have you came out from it, and if so, why? Also you say that you were taught what you know by apostles...is that why you are so convienced you're right in what you present? I can see a parallel between you being influenced by a man you respect and believe and most of us in our relationship to a man we respected and believed...hummm.
I'd rather someone open a can of worms than roll a hand grenade into the room...

James,
About `cantankerous,` as they say `you aint seen nothing yet!!!!`
( lol)
Now about denominations - I probably should have said, as the Apostolic denomination also says, `You can`t prove denominations from scripture & you can`t prove they are not also.`
Yes I was in that denomination, being 3rd generation. However I can separate the revelation that God gave to the Apostles of that denomination & the structure of man. I do believe that God is working through people with a heart after Him whether they go to denominational meetings or not. When I visit different friends & they are going to a meeting I will go with them but it is not how I/we operate now.
The main reason I stopped going to regularly organised public meetings is that it took all my time, being involved in the music & teaching (oops) sharing (!!!!)with others. I believed that God desired me to reach out to those who don`t go to organised public meetings & that has proven fruitful over the past 7 years - not `belonging` (!!!!) to a denomination.
I did enjoy my years of being in denominations and received much good teaching, fellowship growth etc. However this is the way I`ve chosen or see that God would have me walk, now.
About the `revelation,` & I `so believe I`m right attitude,` I`m sorry if that is how it comes over, but like you & all of us we believe ..... till we are convinced otherwise. And I do believe we are mature enough here to give each other a go.
Promise, no grenades. Marilyn

Sage,
So glad you have asked that question as I would love to share more with you. Now because I see it may bring on more discussion I have asked William yet again to make a new category for this topic.
It is the topic that I would eventually be working towards but we need to establish some foundations together in what we believe & also to work through some errors before I present what I have been taught.
So will post on this new site as William sees fit to make it.
Marilyn.

Marylin,
Do you realize that if you must lay groundwork before you
can describe the upcoming doctrine to people who have been in the Word
for 4 decades that it appears that you have a "new" doctrine
to share.
This raises suspicions.
It would be nice if you would say - Here is the doctrine
I want to share in overview, and now I will show you
the Scriptures as to why I believe it.

You can go ahead and start listing the errors you've been taught and we'll try helping you see the truth as we examine them......<smile>
Oh! My bad, did you possibly mean you need to work through some errors 'we've' been taught?
Just attempting to make a point, not trying to be offensive. Again, personal interrupation(or that of a denomination) of yet to be fulfilled prophecy doesn't equate to Biblical doctrine and can't be presented as absolute truth, although we know it happens daily by many 'groups/denominations'.
In fact, most of us have been there and done that, and have more that a cute tee shirt to show for it... lessons learned that humbled.
Additional note: Jman posted before I could, same impressions, though!

James,
Yes I can see how I would have come across. Thank you for pointing it out. So already you can see I need to watch how I comment. As we`re all not in glory yet I think there will be some fine tuning for all of us by the Lord`s Holy Spirit.
The foundations I mentioned are having to work through relating, as we are doing now, & also to find what we believe as we have all had teachings, & experiences & read some & thought some etc etc.
Keeps us on our toes. Marilyn.
