I often meditate on the scripture in Galatians 3:13-14, I was thinking about this one day and wondered what exactly are the Blessings of Abraham. The scripture says:

Gals. 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written), "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree", that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I was wondering what exactly are the blessings of Abraham, is there a list of things the Lord would do for him and his descendants?

I went back to Genesis and read the account several times, from what I can tell the Lord told him that his seed would be as the stars in the Heavens and the Lord would make him the Father of a great nation. At that time I could not find enough information so I looked at Galatians again and thought this would give me a clue to what Paul was saying.

We've been redeemed from the curse of the law, so this blessing will come upon us Gentiles, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

I'm working on looking into scripture without reading into it,
from the way we were taught I wanted to look at scripture and see if anything was being pulled out of context or added into it.

Let the Bible speak for itself because God has spoken this word to us. I'm believing the Holy Spirit will give me the understanding and wisdom to know the word of the Lord.

I'm not saying here that anyone was guilty of this but I wanted to see the Word for myself and understand it by the Spirit. The promise to us, that the Spirit would lead and guide us in all truth. Praise God.

I ran across a prophecy that said: Luke 1:70-75 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us, To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant, The oath He swore to our father Abraham:
To grant us that we, Being delivered from the hand of our enemies, Might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

What a blessing, no matter what is going on in this old world with all these hate groups accusing Christians of having hate,
when we are only telling them what the Lord said, we can rest in the fact that God will deliver us from their hands and we can serve Him without fear.

Anyway that blessed me when I read it. No matter what we hear going on in this world, we are the citizens of Gods Kingdom and we know that His Will shall be done on this earth.

If anyone knows of any more scriptures along this line that mention Abraham and what his blessings were I would appreciate to hear them.

In Him,
Gary
