Good Morning Brothers and Sisters
Awake and again I say awake. Come on in the coffee is brewing.
Isn`t God and His word absolutely amazing. I awoke this morning with scripture ratteling around in my brain and I thought what
A blessing. I had a dream and two people one very close to me was testifying in a church about how powerfull the devil is.I think
That`s what woke me up. I said NO,No, that`s not true. Greater is he that is in us then he that is in the world 1Jn 4:4. That brought up
This thought in my mind. Isn`t interesting the Bible tells us to flee temptations 1 cor 6:18 flee fornication, 1cor10:14 flee from idolatry.
2titus 2:22 flee youthful lusts but praise God in James 3:7 it says resist the devil and he will flee from you. Isnt that just the greatest. Resist
and he will flee us. I`ll grant you that resisting is a war, 2cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnel, but mighty through God
To the pulling down of strong holds. We win Brothers and sisters. The victory is ours. Oh praise His Holy name. Bless you Jesus.
Wasn't that a great first cup of coffee.
There is still plenty left to drink yet. I`m here in the coffee shop keeping the pot warm.
Blessings to all.

Morning Bro,
Yep, that's much better than some sweet roll full of unhealthy ingredients. He has no power over us unless we allow it, and when we resist him, he must flee. That is a powerful position for a christian to be in, but it only works because of JESUS and what HE did at THE CROSS through the shedding of HIS BLOOD.

I'm still seeing visions....
(course, I'm still a kid.....)

ps.the coffee smells great,
how bout teaching that young
fellar, Gary, how to brew it.

AMEN....
COME QUICKLY LORD JESUS...
I know I've sensed an urgency within my spirit to seek to walk in that which He's shown me as never before. I'm feeling a burden for others that hasn't always been present in my life as it should be. I have witnessed a change in our interacts with each other that I know is the workings of The Holy Spirit. He wants His bride to be spotless at His return, and it will, reguardless of what it now apears to be.

As I set here in the coffee shop this morning enjoying the aroma of fresh coffee, I guess by my solitary self because you all are out
Earning money to pay for my social security. Bless you. I was reflecting on the hymn Joy to The World.
Joy to the world, The Lord is come. Sadly there is not much joy in the world except to His children. There could be joy for the whole world.
How many will sing this song this season and it really means nothing to them other then a catchy tune that`s synonymous to the
Holiday.Sorta like here comes Santa Claus.
The Lord has indeed come but He is not there Lord. They are quite happy with the baby in the manger but don't make him Lord of there life.
It`s Been said that people are very happy with the Lord being in heaven blessing them like a celestial Santa Claus but they don't want to see
Him on His throne. Let every heart prepare Him room. Wouldn`t that be great. And heaven and nature sing. Probably the only two places
Where true worship is done.Ever listen to the birds in the morning. I love to hear them because in my mind they are praising their heavenly
Father in worship and thanksgiving.
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains repeat the sounding joy. Is it any wonder the creation groans for His return?
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
SO as I set here contemplating what could be, reality sets in and I say Joy to the world, The King has come and He is coming again this
Time not as a little baby by a mighty King. Hallelujah.
Come quickly Lord Jesus
Blessings to all.

Ah finally you have provided an opportunity to challenge the grey matter under the grey hair ( what remains) thereof.
I did not have the opportunity to study biblical theology under HEF. I came in after a lot of the heavy teachings if you will.
You said "In Biblical Theology, we were taught that God cannot do 'evil' nor can He be tempted with it, but He uses various methods with which to perform His judgments, mostly involving things related to 'mother nature' or to be more accurate ' the natural order of creation'. In doing so, He may also employ the services of 'the destroyer' to do such, as he is only all too happy to destroy that which God has created."
I don't see that God using nature as you stated as being works of evil. Evil to me is sin and should be be a no brainer that God cant sin nor can He tolerate it. So thus the teaching in biblical theology is correct that God cannot do evil.Let me ask you this. Going way back to Noah, God instructed him to build an ark and that it was going to rain, Was God using the Devil or was it not God Himself who sent the rain that destroyed all the men, women, and children that were not in the ark? Gen 6:17Behold, I even I, do bring a flood to destroy all flesh. I suppose that man in his puny understanding of God would come to the conclusion that was evil.God is a God of severe punishment to those who do not follow Him. It can happen in this lifetime and cerntainly in eternity. Hell is full of nonbelievers, sinners if you will who did do evil. That does not make God evil. If fact it makes Him just.
I wonder if Hef ever taught on Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city and theLord has not done it?
Digressing just a moment from acts of nature when God had the Israelites totally wipe out all the ites and mites and icks and ticks of the people who inhabited the land right down to women and children I suppose that some would consider Him evil. "My ways are not your ways nor my thoughts your thoughts" the word has said.
Back to nature ? No I say the works of almighty God. Jer 10:12 He hath made the earth by His power,He hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His discretion.V13When He uttereth His voice there is a multitude of waters in the heavens,
And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, He maketh lightning's with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of His treasures.
Nah 1:3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.
Most do not want to hear of the wrath of God and yet a cursory study of the word quickly displays His wrath. As I said in a previous post, "Most don't have a problem with God being in His work shop maybe holding the earth together and dispensing blessings here and there but don't let Him be on his throne ruling with absolute sovereignty and Power doing as He wills when He wills. IMO to many people don't really know who God is and therefore ascribe works to the Devil without realizing that God is in absolute control. Does He use Satan? Sure He does. The book of Job tells us that. Does he protect His children? Sure as you stated Ps 91 tells us that IF we meet the conditions.
So Hombre I`m not sure if you were disagreeing with my previous post that God is in control so hopefully I have clarified my previous position.
Blessings to all

Well I see yoz guys done covered bout everything pertaining to pagamas, from cards to trees, from gifts to drunkeness, from surfeiting to seasonal songs,
btw: I thought 'joy to the world' was lyrics from a 'Three Dog Night' song where Jeremiah was a bullfrog...but then again...it's been a while.
And since I done come in on the backend of the conversations, I'll just add the real reason for the season, IMO, and get back in my cage.
The REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON IS RETAIL SALES...
So get on out there and support your local merchants...
And don't worry about those increasing credit card interest rates, if anyone gets in a tight,
Ole Grandom will give ya a loan outta his SS retirement, after all, he says ya'll are paying for it...
Oh! I guess ya'll are giving new meaning to...

Gary,
Speaking of coffee, I ran in to an upscale market(grocery store that caters to the wealthy) Thursday and they were giving out samples of various foods and drink. I tried some fancy bean named decaf coffee with a natural sweetner and a flavored creamer; gotta admit, it was good, especially for a non coffee drinker. I can see how so many people drink coffee, but what I tried was something like $16.00 per lb. I don't know how much coffee that will yeild after the beans are ground, but it seems a bit more than Dunkin Donuts or Micky D's....course, it's probably better tasting too. It crossed my mind to just buy some of the beans, for the aroma.
Dick and Ron both sent pictures of the snow yesterday, I think they're trying to influence me to want to move up there... It's beautiful to look at, but I like a warmer climate.
BTW: What's an organic farmers cookie? Are they good?
Could you send me a dozen?

Gary you are in luck,
There is a group of people out there that worship this man dressed in red.
This cult, is really not that old.
They use a tree as part of there ritual of worship and affection.
Unlike Christianity, the man in red, Always says YES to what ever you ask.
He is multi-culture, anyone can partake in this worship, good or bad.
This man in red, appears to have super natural powers, he sees and hears everything !
I have heard, that some have even prayed to him for front teeth.
This group only masses once a year for an all out ritual.
This group claims, that the ritual, is part of a celebration of the birth of some one
named Jesus…..tho that name is rarely used amidst it followers and there children,
very little is know about this Jesus.
Please use caution if you join this cult:
If you try to leave or deny the power of this man In red, you will be put out of your
Church, you could even lose your job. People will persecute you, they will call you
Names.
That’s really not a problem, most people that have entered this cult never come out. Tho there has been a few that have escaped.
I hope this helps.

( it's in the 70's this morning...don't ask what's predicted for tomorrow ) I remember the seminar at the Adam's Mark there in Indy, in 84-85, and all the snow. It was the most I had ever seen. But in '93 we got the perfect storm here in Alabama and it snowed between 12" and 14" in just a few hours. It was beautiful at first, til the power went out and I had to resort to using a propane fish cooker to heat the house.(sounded like a jet engine blowing blue flame everywhere, kinda dangerous)
Opps, am I scaring you off? You might what to keep driving til you hit the Gulf of Mexico, that way, William, Dick, Ron, Gary, and I could come visit ya and go deep sea fishing. So when you're picking out the boat, be sure to get one big enough for all of us...

Yeah, if I was gonna be a coffee drinker, I'd have to do the whole ritual, grind the beans and everything...I love the aroma, I coulda spent the day in the coffee section; they had oak barrels filled with all the different type beans, a roaster, and grinders; it was neat.

Gary, I agree with you about sugar, I've not bought any in 8-9 years. At first I used Xylitol as a substitute for a couple of years, then went to Stevia. The last 4-5 years I've not used anything but a little honey( when I have hot green tea ). We get natural sugars from most fruits ( which I eat daily )and that gives our bodies all we need. Of course, I get sugar from ice cream, my one 'bad' eating habit; but I limit myself to a small amount a couple times per week. There's a small mom and pop bakery here that specializes in natural whole wheat baked breads and they also have granola and a small selection of healthy cookies with all good stuff and Stevia or honey or molasses for sweetners. They're expensive, but I decided years ago that this body was the only one I was gonna have til I saw Jesus; so I'd rather spend extra for fresh and healthy foods. And we know that eating healthy and exercise is only part of our responsibilities, we must feed daily on The Word and exercise ( or put it to use in our lives ) our faith to receive of the promise of Ps. 91....long life.

I’ll take 2 lumps and a little honey. Have ya got any of that non pasteurized milk?
Wow, I’ll take the deep fried bacon, 2 eggs over easy and fried taters.
Have ya got any grits or liver mush ? If not, I’ll just have the pancakes on the side
With butter milk to wash it all down.
Thanks Bro Dick,

I’ll see what I can do after I finish eating……It’s the dog, I can’t get close
To Dick when the dog is awake! I need to be very quiet…..Shhhhhhh !
Bro Dick,
I’d rather have a dip of snuf and a little redman chew, with some ice tea to wash it down.
Then we could head down to the Waffle House or White Castle for lunch.

I have to agree. I was getting over a serious illness and was weak. I had not eaten properly for a couple of years. I followed a healthy lifesyle for about a year. People commented on how healthy my skin, weight, etc. looked. It was expensive and work to cook the right way. I also walked faithfully and felt great!
At this time, I have fallen off of the wagon due to being so busy in my life. I know that is no excuse, but it is hard to try to keep it all going at once.
Your post makes me want to, as Lois says, give it a go again!
My husband and I drink healthy shakes from ReLiv. I am not that impressed with the company yet. I just buy it for us. It has brought his numbers down; blood pressure, sugar, and all of the fat counts. They also have a neat energy shake. He drinks it all day at work and loves it.
Just some "food" for thought.
Blessings, GWB

GWB,
When I think of country music and Kentucky, I think of Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass music. But there's a guy named John Conlee who had a song about 'Rose Colored Glasses' with some lyrics that have stuck in my memory. Something about these rose color glasses that I'm looking through, show only the beauty, but hide all the truth. I don't know if that song triggered the phrase,'viewing things through rose colored glasses' or if the saying inspired the song, but there's truth in it.

Really? I thought, Bluegrass is synonymous with Kentucky and Bill Monroe is the father of Bluegrass,
so Bill Monroe must be from Kentucky. Sounded logical to me....Nashville, Indiana, eh?
You wouldn't be pulling my leg again would you?
Nah, I'm definitely not a country music buff, my music roots are in rock and roll...60's, 70's.

Hombre,
I agree concerning what a 'party' for Jesus would be like. I'm believing for the brethern gathering in Knoxville this weekend, to experience the presence of The Holy Spirit there, in both the worship and teachings. You're right, once a person taste of the 'REAL' presence of God, there's no settling for the imitation.
To quote the 'theologian' you quoted, "the only problem with that, is that you can't exorcize truth." another thing I heard him say was..."to attempt to exorcise from one, the truth, is an exercise in futility." Or in Jesus' words, "My sheep hear My voice..." or " I am the way, the truth, and the life..." or as Gal.4:9 says,"But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?"

Yep, I'm confused... but hey, I was up till 3AM this morning... I've got an excuse!
It is that durn Procmail setting... that stuff must have been written by a ~nix~head!
I wrote this earlier... about the email clients... since you use gmail you might find it interesting:
**********************
If you like 'old-school' stuff, you've got to try out Alpine (formerly
Pine). It is really the best client for power users.
I've got ten or eleven email addresses that must be monitored and Alpine
does it better than anything else I've found. It is a text-based program
(so much for the pretty and nice!) that allows you quickly do almost
anything that needs to be done via email. (They even have a MAC version
Hombre!)
All of my email addresses are set up using IMAP (but it will work with
POP as well), which allows me to constantly be 'logged in' to the mail box
and receive instant notifications about incoming mail. I've spent the last
few days converting my POP accounts to IMAP which seems to be the best
thing going.
If you use Gmail you can actually set it up to gather up to five accounts
and then use Alpine to access Gmail without going to the trouble of
converting the accounts individually. Imagine being able to instantly get
all of your email without ever logging into Gmail! No mouse clicks, no
hindrances, just fast keystroke commands that keep you productive.
Alpine works great from the start right out of the box, but if you are a power-user, it has
some awesome features!
I've been away from MS Outlook for some time now (because of the constant
stream of hacker-attacks) and used Opera as both a web browser and email
client, but now, with the new PC Alpine, I don't see myself ever going
back! I quit using Pine (Alpine's predecessor) a few years back but I wish I had never left.
Blessings,
William
I want to believe!

Well, I guess I can pour out the coffee and clean out the pot. I hung around all day, kept the coffee fresh and hot, but looks like everyone was watching football. Maybe I'll catch up with somebody in the morning, first one in can make the coffee...
I hope the additions to the forum by William hasn't frightened off everyone. Nothing has changed unless you subscribed to the new e-mail feature.
Hope everyone has a blessed and prosperous new year...

What's the deal with state lotteries, do people vote to have them in each individual state or is it something the state legislature controls? In Alabama you can't even play Texas Hold'em or Bingo, yet we have dog racing tracks that broadcast horse racing from all over. Georgia has a lottery, Florida has a lottery and horse racing, Tennessee has a lottery, and Mississippi has casino's and riverboat gambling. So the people in Alabama go to church and get on charter buses and head over to the casino's in Mississippi and give them their money. Yet when it comes time for a vote, it always gets defeated.
I'm not for gambling, lotto's, dog tracks, slot machines, or what have ya; and since I don't vote I guess I shouldn't have an opinion. But it seems to me that the hypocrisy I see all around is worse than in the places where it's legal. Many people I encounter in my profession are 'church members' yet have gambling earnings. But when it's time to vote, they wear the "vote NO" stickers...???? I just don't get it...
In trying to find something positive about Obama, I think I have...he's in favor of a national playoff for college football...

That was a good cup of coffee. I may add that when the tempter comes he has to contend with the Holy Spirit in us. If we stay in God's presence and please him, we are sure to have that shield of faith protecting us.
What a blessing we have when we can say I have no sin. To be helpful the scripture that says he that says he has no sin is a liar. That scripture is not talking about saints. A Christian has no sin. That is how we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
We can commit sin, but then we ask forgiveness and get it under the blood. amen??? We make mistakes and sometimes miss the mark but so did Peter and James and John. Our attitude should be resisting sin. It doesn't hurt God but it does us. We don't want to grieve the Holy Spirit. If we do we will be down on our face repenting after trials and troubles come to put our self life to death. Our cross.
It feels good to know if we are asked about sins in our life we can say I don't have any. We can know this when we sense God's presence in our lives. We have a inner witness all is okay. hold on to that it's okay statement--that is true joy. come quickly Lord Jesus hallelujah.
faith-- forsake all I trust him. Baal-- believe apostacy all lost. bible-- believe in bible life eternal.
