I. Chapter 1


A. Introduction

1. Joel 2. We're in last days.
2. Deeper meanings are unfolding for fulfillment
3. Study for picture of whole book.
4. Book is not taught in denominations. Mystery.


B. What it is.

1. vs. 1. A revelation. Something to be revealed. A mystery.
a. The unveiling - Greek.

2. From God to show his servants.

3. vs. 3. Blessed are they that read and hear words of this prophesy.

4. Rev. 22:6-7. These sayings are faithful and true and sent to show servants.

a. Also, Rev. 22:16. These things are to be testified to in churches.


C. Scope of Book

1. vs. 19. Write things which have been (ch.1), things which are (ch. 2-3) and things which shall be hereafter (ch. 4-22).


D. Outline of Book

1. Ch. 1: Vision of the glorified Jesus
2. Ch. 2-3: Christ's message to 7 churches.
3. ch. 4-19: Great Tribulation
4. Ch.20: The Millenium
5. Ch. 21-22: Eternal State (new heavens & new earth)



This is chronological order what's going to happen.

*2nd Rev:15-19 Antichrist breaks covenant, and Great Tribulation starts. Dan. 12:1 Rev. 11:2

#3) 7 yrs. Great Tribulation Rev. 4-19 7 yrs. Rev. 4-19 Divided into 2 periods of 3 1/2 yrs. Dan. 9:27-first half-Israel enters covenant relationship w/Antichrist.

#4) 1,000 yrs. Christ comes with Saints
*1st Rev.4-11:15

#5) Millineum Rev. 20:11-15 Judgment of dead. Eternity ch. 21-22
Great tribulation is supernatural, not natural (atomic bomb, communism), events, Ch. 4-19.



1. John got vision of judgments in 3 series.

a. Sets them forth under: seals, trumpets and vials of wrath.
7 of these

b. Shows first of all a scroll. John sees 7 seals on the scroll
Can't see them all at once. There were seven in all. Under one another. Then under seals, were 7 trumpets. Then out of the trumpet, comes 7 vials of wrath.

1) A scroll that no one can open. Until Lamb of God.
2) Each judgment gets progressively worse.


2. The judgments continue through the end each. All going together.


3. Ch. 4:1. Great tribulation starts.

a. It's future event.


4. Ch. 5. He saw a book. 7 seals. (scroll). Lamb of Judah.


5. Ch. 6. Seals being opened.

a. Runs thru ch. 8. Saw 7 trumpet then.


6. Ch. 8-14. Seven trumpets.


7. Ch. 15. 7 last plagues. (ch. 16-7 vials of wrath)



E. Three views or interpretations


1. Historical - meaning for 7 churches of Asia, except ch. 21-22.

a. Already fulfilled
b. But for servants of God.
1) Says its for future
c. Some say progressively fulfilled through ages and now in tribulation.


2. Spiritual (general view)

a. Not literal, but means for church today.


3. Literal interpretation - right view.

a. 1:19-Write down.
b. Both historical and literal.
c. Don't say something is spiritualized.

1) Like in Garden of Eden, serpent spoke
2) Says frogs came out, they did.
a) Only may be evil spirits



F. Chapter One


1. Vision of glorified Jesus - vs. 1.


2. Unveiling about Jesus, which God gave to Jesus, given to angels, sent to John.

a. John is author. Said he is.
b. Wrote 95 A.D.
c. Banished for gospel's sake. vs. 9. There because he preached
too much.
1) Only original apostle not martyred.


3. Calls a revelation (of something to come)


4. Dan. 12:4-9

a. Told Daniel to seal up and veil because not yet to know.
b. Was for our day.


5. Rev. 22:10

a. Told not to seal the book of prophesy, for times are at hand.
b. Study Daniel and Zechariah.


6. Vs. 2-3

a. Question keeping ch. 4-19 because tribulation
1) But much to keep. ch. 2-3
2) But getting word in our heart to keep


7. Vs. 4-5

a. Him which is, and which was, and which is to come
b. Seven Spirits - Holy Spirit
c. And from Jesus Christ
d. Trinity. Godhead.
e. Kings of earth - we'll reign with Him. (Faithful One)


8. Vs. 7

a. He'll come with clouds, and every eye shall see him and those that pierced Him (Jews).


9. Vs. 9


10. Vs. 10-11

a. He was in the Spirit of the Lord's day.

1) He was caught up in the Spirit.
2) II Cor. 12. Paul was caught up.
3) Prophets visions.
4) Lord's day. First day of week. Sunday

a) Can't be under law of Sabbath.
b) Say no command to change Sabbath to Sunday.
(1) But no command to teach Trinity -- not mentioned in scripture--but he reveals himself.
c) Acts 20:6-7. First church observed Sunday. First day of week.

b. Heard a voice like a trumpet.


11. Vs. 12-16. 7 golden Lampstands seen. (A Menorah was drawn on the original outline GWB)

a. 7 branches in the temple.

b. In midst of lampstand, one like the son of man--his humanity.

1) golden - speaks of his deity

2) eternalness - white hair
a) Dan. 7 vision. Father Ancient of days.

3) eyes a flame of fire - omnipresence. He's everywhere.
4) feet as brass -- judgment and strength
5) voice like many waters- omnipotence
6) right hand 7 stars - power

7) out of mough a sharp two-edged sword--His Spirit
a) Rev. 19:15 -- sword to smite the nations
b) Heb. 4
c) Eph. 6

8) countenance as sun -- His glory.


12. Vs. 17


13. Vs. 18


1. Keys speak of right or ownership -- Hades (not hell--place of departed spirits).
1) He doesn't need keys to hell--Rev. 20 lake of fire--eternal death.


2. In O.T. it's Sheol. A place of departed spirits. Hades.
Just King James uses Hell.
a. American Standard Version is best. Not Revised Standard Version.


3. Righteous go to Abraham's bosom, a separate part of hades (Luke) - paradise. But Eph. 4, no believer ever goes to hades now he led captivity captive and ascendeth up on high to be with Christ.
a. Phil 1. Be with Christ.
b. Were captive in death not torment.


14. Vs. 19.


15. Vs. 20. Jesus interprets what John saw. The symbols are explained.

Revelation


I. Chapter 2 and 3.


A. Generally--book is self-explanatory mostly.

1. God is starting to fulfill it.

2. Picture of book. 1:3--we're expected to have an understanding.

a. William Brannon received revelation on 7 seals.
b. Speaks of works.
c. Gives similar messages.
d. Reward to overcomers.

3. Ch. 1: What was.

4. Ch. 2-3: What is.

5. Ch. 4ff: What shall be.

6. 7 churches described. Named.

a. Christ is Lord of church first.



B. 2:1 Church of Ephesus.

1. Jesus is one who holds churches in his hand and walks in midst.

a. vs. 2:8
b. vs. 2:12
c. vs. 2:18
d. vs. 3:1
e. vs. 3:7
f. vs. 3:14

2. There were not just 7 churches then.

a. But picked out 7 to describe separate spiritual churches of any age.
b. Also, 7 spiritual christians of any age.
c. Although literal, are prophetic meanings.
d. Number seven means completeness.
e. Always to obey what Spirit said to churches--general at end of each.


C. Five-fold order for each 7 churches. Ephesus.

1. Says I know thy works.
a. But labor is different
b. Know our endurance (not patience in Greek).

2. Some think 7 churches are condition of church in church age.
a. Apostolic - Ephesus.

1) Not said to any of other churches.
2) Some support this.

b. William Brannon.

3. Tested apostles. Found some liars.

4. He criticizes them for leaving their first love.

a. What is first love?
1) Not salvation -- he commends their works.
2) Substituted cold formality for joy, zeal, evangelism, etc.
a) Acts 8 - people went out evangelizing, not ministry.

b. Says to repent, or else he'll remove lampstand out of place.

5. But another commendation - hates Nicolatanes.
a. Rulers over people -- an ecclesiastical class.
1) God hates this.

6. Promise to overcomers.
a. No assurance except to overcomers.
b. I Cor. 3 Some will be saved if by fire.
c. Wants us to be overcomers -- says 7 times.


D. Smyrna.

1. Knows works and tribulation, and poverty, and blasphemy of some.

2. Period of persecution.
a. 2nd thru 3rd centuries. Many martyred.
b. Devil will test them.

3. Receive a crown of life.
a. Not hurt of second death.


E. Pergamos.

1. Knows works.
a. Always judges on basis of our works.
b. A seat or headquarters of Satan was there.

2. Those that get into the church then were committing sin.
a. Fornication.
b. Doctirine of Balaam.
c. Doctrine of Nicolatanes

3. Repent, or he'll come
a. Destroy with his word--sword of mouth--judgment.

4. Overcomers can eat of manna, white stone, new name.


F. Thyatira.

1. Last works are greater than the first.

2. One matter against them
a. False prophet leading people astray.

3. False teachers will be destroyed, but also those following after (children--adultery) -Jezebel--deceiving Spirit.

4. Overcomers: reigning and ruling with Christ.


G. Sardis.

1. Not found works perfect
2. Overcomers -- book of life.


H. Philadelphia

1. Nothing but good to this church

2. Vs. 3:10--keep thee from tribulation
a. Must hold on, so no man will take crown by deception, etc.

3. Will write new name, name of God.


I. Laodiceans

1. Works are neither cold nor hot.
a. Certainly a picture of denominational church today.
b. He loves them.

2. Vs. 3:10. Used for evangelization
a. But for Laodiceans
b. It's judgment. Offering repentance.

3. Overcomers: Sit with throne.



Chapter 4 and Chapter 5


A. Begin period of Great Tribulation (ch. 4-9)

1. Dan. 9:27. Divided Period. Halves.
a. First period is Antichrist's scovenant with Jews that breaks in Middle.

2. Division in Ch. 11 for last half in Revelation

a. Antichrist reveals himself and sits in Temple
1) Peace and prosperity for world changes
b. Period of judgment is the Great Tribulation.


B. Ch. 4. Setting up throne of judgment.


C. Ch. 5. Who can open book of judgment?


D. Ch. 6ff. Show judgments.

1. 7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 vials.
a. 21 judgments. Not bombs, tanks, etc.--but supernatural.
1) God could use those for other judgments.

c. Assyrians were atrocious people.
1) But going to be worse in Tribulation.


E. Set up throne for judgment. Ch. 4

1. All future events. vs. 4:1

2. Was caught up in the Spirit 4:2

a. A throne was set.
b. Who was on throne?
1) Describes the Father. No one has seen God.

3. Around throne were 24 elders
a. Crowns - saints

b. White raiment
1) Rev. 19 -- depicts righteousness and glory

c. thrones sitting on

d. overseeing with God for judgments.

e. These are 12 apostles and 12 from tribes of Israel.
1) Also, represent overcomers. Same said of them. 2:26. 5:20 (Kingdom of priests); 3:21 (sit with throne).
2) Not arbitrarily chosen. Israel and church are represented.

4. 4 beasts around throne.
a. These were 4 living creatures (not beasts in Greek).

1) (1) like lion, (2) like ox, (3) like face of man and (4) like flying eagle.
2) We will see them.
3) Always there. Ezek. 1:1-28 Saw 4 diff. creatures

a) May be 8 creatures together, or same. Same faces but seen as having 4 faces, rather than one.
b) Saw wheel within a wheel, going different directions Never turn; Just up straight in that direction. Eyes.

4. Vs. 4:8. Don't cease giving praise.
a) Triune God: 3 holies.


F. Ch. 5: Book

1. Not a book, but a scroll.
a. 7 seals -- seals on a scroll

2. Who is worthy to open the book?

a. But Lion of tribe of Judah, Root of David
1) Couldn't open until went to Cross
2) Will get back what Satan took from him.
3) Judgments overcome his enemies to get back what he has coming.
4) Christ purchase the right at Calvary, but there'll come a time when he'll exercise this right.

b. Saw him as a Lamb.
1) Horns speak of power.
a) 7 horns -- perfect power

2) 7 eyes--perfect omniscience and omnipresence

3) 7 Spirits. Only one Holy Spirit. But 3 manifestations of God.

b. Holy Spirit

c. Elders have been redeemed (vs. 5:9). Out of every nation, etc.
1) We'll overcome and reign on earth

3. This precedes the judgments

4. The creatures (ch. 4)
a. All parts of creation

1) Lion--wild beast: power
2) Ox--domesticated beasts: strength
3) Eagle-Fowls: omnipresence
4) Man - man: intelligence, wisdom, spiritual nature

b. Isa. 22:2 - 7 Spirits of God.
c. Zech. 4
d. 7 in scripture is complete, perfection.

Tape # 3

I. Revelation

A. Chapter 6

1. Great Tribulation begins

a. divided in halves
1) Dan. 9:27. 70th week.
a) Antichrist breaks covenants
2) from ch. 6 thru ch. 11:5

2. Lamb of God opens book (scroll)

3. Purpose of judgments are to complete God's redemptive plan on earth.
a. All bible shows his plan of redemption, but Revelation doesn't
b. Revelation is a book of judgments for completion of plan.
1) judge those who aren't saved.

4. Beginning opening of 7 sealed scrolls

a. 2 series of seals.

1) First four seals are the four horsemen he sees go forth on earth.
2) Three more seals deal with things out of heaven

b. First 4 seals: vs. 1-8.

1) Said come (not come and see--not in Greek).
2) Were living creatures--not angels.
3) These are horses represent judgments
a) opening of seals signify beginning of Daniel's 70th weeks. Dan. 9:27.
b) Zech. 6:1-8

(1) try to connect with these 4 horses, but not same.
(2) brass symbolizes judgment
(a) chariots were coming out as symbols of God's judgment.
(3) last were strong horses.
(4) angel said these are good spirits before God.
(5) this has to do with the same 4 kingdoms prophesied by Daniel

(a) lived at same time as Daniel in Babylon.
(b) 4 horses are going against the 4 powers.
(c) Daniel mentions the nations.
(d) 4 horses: red, black, white, grizzled-&-strong

(I) Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece & Rome
(II) the angel doesn't mention the red horse again.

(A) Zechariah has come out of Babylonian captivity and Babylon has already fallen.

(B) enemies of Israel always came from north--not from east thru Arabian desert, but north through fertile crescent.

(C) Rome came into Palestine to capture from Egypt and from south to conquer.

(D) Roman Empire was conquered but not totally destroyed. Agent of Lord walks to and fro throughout earth for judgment. The strong messenger.

(6) these are angelic messengers.

4) Question about who rides on horses of judgments.
a) Some say it is Christ.
b) But it's antichrist.

(1) William Brannon's vision.
(2) Many biblical interpretations also.
(3) Not Christ, because he's in heaven and not on earth; Christ is opening book and not riding;

5. First seal is white horse.

a) Similarity with judgments by what Christ said
b) Given a crown. Means he's going to rule.
c) II Thess. 2:9-12. He'll conquer thru religious delusions.

(1) Rev. 13:2-4. Where he gets his power. Dragon (Satan) gave him his power. Worship him.
(2) II. Thess. 2:3-4. Sits in Temple - Antichrist.

6. Second seal is a red horse.

a) Takes place from earth--blood. War.
b) A great sword--great destruction and bloodshed.
c) Matt. 24:6-7. Wars.

7. Third seal is a black horse.

a) Famine, pestilence, etc.
b) Set of balances in his hand.
c) Suggestion of famine, and great need and want.
d) Rationing by Antichrist. Rev. 13:16-17. All to obtain a mark to receive goods.
e) Matt. 20. Parable of vineyard.

(1) Cost a man a day's wages to buy one person's food--penny is America.

8. Fourth seal

a) Pale horse. (colors symbolize judgments).

(1) Death and Hades on -- antichrist (Rider is judge).
(2) Power over 1/4 of earth -- 1/4 people destroyed.
(3) Result of other problems.
(4) Symbolism obviously of horse.

9. Fifth seal--vs. 9-11

a) Zech. 14, Rev. 19 -- only time when God (Christ) battles himself--at Armaggedon.

(1) All through Word, God has his agents of judgment

(a) Death angel in Egypt was Satan.
(b) Satan will destroy anything if God allows

b) Scene changes from earth back to heaven.

(1) Saw souls as people -- disembodied spirits
(a) Beheaded or slain
(b) Not overcomers, but saints

(2) Position under alter suggests being under blood

(3) Vs. 11 -- many martyrs to be killed
(a) Rev. 12:11 -- overcome Satan with blood of lamb and word of Testimony.
(b) God loves the church--there are many that are saved.

(1) Clara Grace saw overcomers come back and minister in Great Tribulation.

(4) No soul sleeps between death and resurrection

(a) They even know what goes on on earth
(b) Resting
(c) In heaven, not in Hades.

10. Vs. 12-17. Sixth seal.

a) Heavenly portents poured out.
b) Moon became as blood--not blood, but red.
c) Stars fell from heaven.

(1) Haggai - God will shake earth.

d) All islands and mountains will be moved.
e) Wrath of Lamb -- Lion of Judah when judges.
f) These are heavenly judgments.

(2) Great earthquake.
(3) Sun is going to be darkened.
(4) Heaven departed as a scroll.

g) Literal judgments on the earth. Same talked about all through scripture.

(1) Joel 2:27ff
.
(a) In connection with outpouring of Holy Spirit
(b) Then judgments

(2) Acts 2:16-21
(c) Peter quotes Joel 1:27ff, including judgments

(3) Matt. 24:29.

(4) II Pet. 3:10. Day of the Lord

(5) Amos 8:8-9. Earth darkened.
(a) Zech. 14. That day or night when Jesus returns.

(6) Haggai 2:6-7. Shake heavens and earth.
(a) Heb. 12. Paul quotes.
Ezek. 38:19-20.

(7) Isaiah 13:9-13.
(a) Isaiah 24:1-2

a) Is. 24-27: Little apocalypse or revelation.

Tape #4

Revelation


I. Chapter 7

A. Out of the Seventh Seal in Chapter 8.

1. Is the Seven trumpets--is 7 vials of wrath?

2. But before it comes Chapter 7.
a. God will stop and do something (also ch. 10-11) before he continues.

3. Seventh seal is going to be worse than other.

B. Symbols--look for interpretation, because it's a revelation.
1. But literal if no interpretation in scripture.

C. 144,000 sealed of children of Israel.

1. 12,000 from each of 12 tribes.

2. 4 angels are told to withhold judgments from objects: sea, earth and trees.

3. Who are the 144,000?

a. Not Herbert W. Armstrong's.
b. Not Jehovah Witnesses.
c. Not the Seventh Day Adventists
d. Not the Church--say same as innumerable host.
e. Says in vs. 4 who they are--"of the tribes of the children of Israel."

4. Object of sealing is to mark as belonging to God.

a. Just 144,000 Jews.

1) Not saying how many Jews are saved.
2) But saved from judgments.
3) These are servants of God--not apostates.
4) Paul said all Jews are to be saved.
5) These go alive into Millenium.
6) They could be Christian Jews. Not necessarily.

a) Could be saved from judgments in tribulation.

5. These aren't same 12 tribes of Israel as in O.T.

a. Won't find Levi and Joseph in O.T. as tribes to whom land was divided.
b. When land was divided, Joseph and sons Manasseh and Ephraim in O.T.

1) Not mention Joseph, but 2 sons in O.T.
2) Levi was priest class, and not in O.T.
a) His inheritance was God.

c. So, Ephraim and tribe of Dan are missing.
1) But, with Joseph being Ephraim's father, he is really represented in this list.
2) But Dan is missing entirely.

d. There must be a reason for it.
1) Ancient priests say Dan is missing because antichrist comes out of Dan.

a) Gen. 49:17.
(1) Dan shall be a serpent--Satan is a serpent.

2) Dan is first tribe to go into idolatry.
a) Judges.
b) But back in for millenium.
c) Ezek. 40-48--God is sealing a priestly class for millenium. Could be Dan.

6. Sealing

a. Ezek. 9

1) Scene is God's Spirit or glory is leaving holy of holies and Jerusalem and getting ready to destroy.
2) Judgment begins at sanctuary--where it will today.
3) Rom. 8:15. We've received the spirit of adoption.

a) Eph. 1:13. Seal of Holy Spirit promised.
b) We're sealed against tribulation and judgment.

7. Tells when sealed: between 6th and 7th seals.

a. Before the great tribulation.

D. After this, a great multitude which no man could number.

1. These are they which came out of the great tribulation.

2. Washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.

3. These are not overcomers.

a. Sit-in throne with Jesus. Victorious.

4. Who are these?

a. Come out of all nations, kindreds and tongues.
1) Always nations means Gentiles.
2) Not ever used for Israel.
3) Not all church seen in heaven

b. Jews were seen to be on the earth.
c. But vs. 9ff. are seen up in heaven before the throne.
d. May be loved ones we've claimed who will not be saved until judgments.
e. All who have Holy Spirit and overcome will be taken from tribulation.



II. Chapter 8 7th Seal.

A. Silence in heaven 1/2 hour.

1. Great judgments to happen.

B. 7 Trumpets
1. Prelude to this in vs. 1-5

a. vs. 2. An altar. An angel stood before. Offered incense which is a type of prayer as in O.T.
b. As in Luke 1, for Zechariah, he was ministering at golden alter. People were in court praying.
c. Sees angels in heaven.

1) Incense, came with prayers of saints to God.
2) As soon as prayers, then voices, thunderings, lightenings and earthquakes.

a) Our prayers will be answered to put down sin. Vindicated. Result in judgment.
b) Ps. 18:6-10. Prayer being heard by God.

(1) Note--God rides upon cherubs--what they're for. Also on clouds.
(2) Cherubin were over ark in O.T.

2. First angel sounded trumpet. vs. 6-7

a. Hail, fire--cast on earth.
b. 1/3 of trees burnt up, and all green grass
c. Exodus 9:22-25. Same judgment by God on Egypt.
d. Joel 2: Blood, fire, pillars of smoke.
e. Vegetation was nearly destroyed.

1) Fire and blood literally.
2) Institutional church says trees are men and grass is glory that will be consume if not saved. Not scripture.

3. Second angel sounded trumpet-vs. 8-9

f. Commentators ask how 1/3 part of sea turns to blood.

1) They say must mean Gentile nations.
2) But maybe mountainous mass would cause dispersion of blood into 1/3 part of sea. Or, like the red tide (not the red tide), which doesn't fill all Gulf of Mexico.

g. Hosea 1:3, Zeph. 1:3--destroy fishes.

4. Third angel sounded trumpet. vs. 10-11.

a. fell a great star from heaven.

1) burning as it were a lamp.
2) it fell upon 1/3 part of rivers.
3) and upon fountains of waters.
4) name of star is called Wormwood.

a) 1/3 waters became wormwood

b. Many men died of waters--became bitter. (poisonous).
c. Star is not interpreted here.
1) Some say it's angels -- as in John. But there it's interpreted, but not here.

d. Star must either be diffuse (like gases), or disintegrates, and contaminates.
1) Like, one atom bomb spreads nuclear widely.

5. Fourth angel sounded trumpet. Vs. 12.

a. 1/3 part of sun smitted.
b. 1/3 part of moon.
c. 1/3 part of stars.

d. 1/3 part of them was darkened.
1) day shone not for a third part.
2) night also.

e. These will upset seasons, etc.
1) Jesus speaks of this in Luke 21.

6. Vs. 13. Angel flying through midst of heaven, saying last 3 trumpets are more than judgments, but are worse--being woes.

a. Greek is an eagle--not an angel--which could signify judgment.
1) Eagle can speak, as Baalim's ass, and serpent to Eve. Also, in occult.

A. Four trumpets

1. When opened 7th seal, silence in heaven for 1/2 hour--awesomeness.

2. See 4 terrible judgments.

a. Hail & fire mingled with blood.
1) 1/3 vegetation burned up.
2) Take it literally, unless says "as".

b. As it were a great mountain cast in sea.
1) 1/3 sea became blood
2) 1/3 sea creatures and ships destroyed.

II. Chapter 9

A. Fifth Trumpet. 9:1-11

1. Star fell from heaven on earth

a. given key to bottomless pit.
b. opened pit--smoke.

c. came out locusts with power of scorpions.
1) Not kill, but torment 5 months.
2) People shall seek to die.
3) Shaped like horses, etc.

2. This is the first Woe.

a. Release of demonic creatures from hell.

b. This wasn't a star in 9:1, but an angel.
1) Personal pronoun, and does personal things.
2) Jesus was before holding 7 stars in his hands, but said were 7 angels of church.

c. Bottomless pit is the abyss.
1) Satan will later be bound and cast therein
2) Same word asked by Legion demons if Jesus was going to cast them in the "deep"
3) Same place where angels who sinned are confined. Luke.

d. Creatures

1) Given power to hurt but not to kill.
2) God is calling for repentence in all 65 books of Bible, and here it shows what His judgment will be for non-repentence.
3) These are literal, not interpreted by God.

4) These are locusts, but not same we know
a) Normally eat vegetation.
b) Joel speaks of great locust plague.
c) vs. 4--commanded not to do what locusts do--not eat the vegetation.
d) Inflict pain on man.

e. Description:

1) Head like a horse--even now they do.
(a) Joel 2.

(2) crowns on head
(3) faces of men
(4) hair of women
(5) teeth as teeth of lions
(6) breastplates as it were breastplates of iron
(7) sound of wings as sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
(# eight) tails like scorpions.

2. 5 months to hurt men -- repeats time.

a) Not to those having seal of God in forehead.

B. Sixth Trumpet--Second Woe. vs. 12-21

1. Judgment isn't going to cause all to repent.
a. Vs. 20-21
b. Just curse and blaspheme more.

2. 4 angels are loosed, which had been bound at the River Euphrates.

a. Symbolic of place of Babylon and origin of false religion.
b. They'd been prepared for then.
c. These are evil angels. Fallen.

d. Had army under them.
1) Supernatural horses.
2) 200,000,000
3) Horses in vision.

a) And saw riders--not described
b) Describe horses

(1) breastplates of fire & jacinth & brimstone.
(2) heads as lions.

A. Who is the angel?

1. Description goes beyond an angel.

2. H.F. believes Jesus

a. Like ch. 5, where Jesus only can open book.

b. Often describe Jesus as angel of Lord in O.T.

1) Mal. 3:1 -- behold I shall send messenger (John) and shall send messenger (angel) of covenant.
2) Pre-incarnate Christ described as angel.

c. Angel here comes with a cloud, and always used of God.

1) Jesus comes in a cloud at return.
2) Went before Israel as cloud.
3) Cloud in temple.

1) Same as God.

B. Book?

1. H.F. believes same book, and Jesus only opens.

d. 11:15. The kingdoms of this world are now become kingdoms of our Lord and Christ.

b. Book is opened here in Ch.10 -- has been opening seals already.


C. 7 thunders utter voice.

1. When God, angel or Christ often sounds like thunder.

a. Unlike vs. 1. where told to write.
b. Dan.12:8.

1) God has often given revelations that don't have seeming meaning, but disclosed later.
2) Words are sealed until the end of time.

3. Revelations in bible are mysteries of kingdom.

a. Rev. 11:15--Christ takes kingdom.
b. One basic theme is establishment of God's kingdom on earth.

4. John was given scroll to eat.

a. Told he'll have to prophesy. 10:11
b. Ezek. 3 -- eating God's word means assimilates.

4. In Rev., 2 witnesses take place of Zerubabel and Joshua, and being God's source of revelation to world.

a. Who are they?
b. We know who they are in Zech., but not here.
c. They are prophets.
d. Some say they are Elisha and Enoch, the only 2 who were translated.

1) Destroy enemies by fires.

(1) Ch. 1 -- what he saw
(2) Ch. 2-3: present condition of 7 churches of Asia.
(3) Ch. 4 ff: What shall be hereafter. He doesn't change the theme. The rest of the book is prophesy given.

e) Can't pertain to Christ, because he ascended 70 years before prophesy given.
(1) Not looking at history, but future/prophesy.

2) Church is often called a woman in scripture.

3) Manchild is overcomers--brought back to minister during tribulation.

4) Rev. 2:26-27. Others besides Christ will rule nations with rod of iron --overcomers.

5) Rev. 3:21. Sit on throne and reign. Overcomers.

6) Rev. 5:10. Made kings and priests to rule on earth. Overcomers.

7) Can't be Christ--

a) Satan was waiting to destroy Manchild.
(1) Christ was delivered by being carried to Egypt by parents. But caught up to throne by Manchild.

b) Vs. 5--manchild is caught up to God immediately after birth--but Christ was not for 30 years.

8. We must prepare ourselves as overcomers.

a. Faith doesn't question.
b. We must be prepared.

c. Vision of H.F. on plateau.
1) Looking for another level.

d. Manchild cannot be birthed until overcomers are ready. Eyes, ears, etc., must be ready.

1) All are members of body.
2) Body must be prepared, or hold us all back.

e. Preparing in womb of church.
f. Jesus can't come back until wife has made herself ready. Rev. 19:7.
1) We must come to a place of maturity.

9. War in heaven is after Manchild is caught up, and Satan is cast out.

a. Manchild hasn't been caught up, since Satan hasn't been cast out.

1) Eph. - spiritual wickedness in heavonly places.
2) Though defeated at Calvary, not yet cast down.

10. Not a single woman
a. vs. 6 - singular.

b. vs. 11 - They overcome Satan -- many martyrs.
1) Rev. 20:13. Many martyrs.

c. Rev. 3:10. Overcomers escape the tribulation.(lit. Greek - tribulation, not temptation).

11. Woman is persecuted.

a. vs. 13
b. Then she is caught out of tribulation.
c. Then, after she is caught up, remnant of her seed is persecuted.

d. Rev. 13:7
1) Tribulation: Rev. 11-19.
2) Beast given power over saints. Become martyrs.

e. Rev. 18:1ff God destroys Babylon (stands for world)
1) vs. 4 -- come out of her my people, while judgments are falling on earth.

5) Will be a time when you can neither buy or sell unless part of world system.
a) Will mean have to subscribe and worship antichrist.
b) Saints will find they've been lulled to sleep.

12. Two different groups.

a. Woman preserved for 3 1/2 years.
b. Great tribulation period divides it in 2- 3 1/2 periods.

c. Woman preserved from worst of tribulation.
1) Then Satan persecutes the remnant of her seed.
2) The Manchild is overcomers.

3) Woman -- first group -- (by vision (5 aspects to the rapture)) -- are charismaticswho didn't go all the way. Get baptism, but don't grow.
a) Will be preserved.

4) Remnant - last group - go through the great Tribulation. Noncharismatics. Believe nothing more, and are not satisfied.
a) No joy, peace or victory in it.
b) When thirst and hunger, then get river of life: baptism.
c) Parable of 10 virgins.

13. Woman is in travail right now.

a. Manchild may be born anytime.

b. Can't speed up, or get another Ishmael, as Sarah and Abraham. Of the flesh.

1) We must be prepared.
2) Body must be ready to be caught away.

3) There comes a time when no longer qualify as overcomers.
a. The first fruits.
b. 144,000 to be ready.
c. Chapter 14.
d. Matured sons of God. Would be a tremendous army.
e. H.F. takes number literally: 144,000.

c. Woman is waiting in pain.

d. Church has for centuries rejected the power.

e. In 1900, the Church turned back and asked for baptism. In 1901 in Topeka, Kansas.

1) The 9 months is almost fulfilled.
2) Don't want a weak child. Nor miscarriage, abortion, or premature births.
3) Vision that child's head is coming forth.
4) Kenneth Hagin is a prophet. A sister, Clara Grace, gave a vision. Catching away of matured sons of God (Rom. eight) and not church. I Thess. 4 ---caught up to meet Christ in air.

a) Shown the dead saints. From Abel, ff.
(1) Elijah said at one time he was only one left.
(2) They were pressing thru to resurrection--waiting on us. Become one. I Cor. 15 changed in twinkling of eye. Came back in Great Tribulation to minister to unbelieving church and get them ready for Christ's return.

f. Christianity--is giving up everything. Sell all to get the treasure. Not selfish, pride, flesh, business, future,doctrine -- all to grave, to Calvary.

1) Put self on cross.

2) Then total faith
a) Not poverty
b) He'll supply all our needs.
c) No worries. Food, clothing, roof, etc.
d) But people aren't the same as the system.

2). Apostate churches--don't believe the world.
a) The revelation of black cloud over the system, and people coming out of the light.
b) Whole system is man-made.

D. Beast. 17:8ff

1. The 7 heads are 7 mountains
a. But 7 mountains are called kings (or kingdoms)
b. Jer. 51:25--Babylon is a mountain
c. Dan. 2 - Christ's kingdom is called a mountain

2. 7 Kingdoms
a. 5 fallen, 1 is, and 1 is to come
1) Egypt, Assyria, Babylonia, Medo-Persia, Greece
2) Rome is during John
3) One is to come - antichrist

a) Eight was, and is not, is of 7th.
(1) II Thess. 2-man of perdition-antichrist

(2) Rev. 13:1-3, 14
(a) One of heads wounded unto death, and healed.
(b) Was killed, then lived.

(3) The beast is antichrist. The head is the king on the kingdom.
(a) When 7th is killed and resurrected, and becomes the 8th.

(4) All world believes resurrection.

3. 10 horns. Are 10 kings, having power with beast for 1 hour.

a. Daniel. Antichrist.
b. One mind with antichrist.
c. Make war against the harlot.

1) The false religion will control things for awhile. Harlot.

2) But when antichrist comes to power, then destroys all worship except of himself.

a) II Thess 2 - sits in temple saying God.
b) Satan manifests self in antichrist
c) God was minifested in Jesus as man.
(1) Counterfeit by Satan.

a. In Hebrew 666 = Nero Caesar
1) Fits pattern about antichrist.

b. In Greek, can make Greek term for Latin.
1) Popular theory that it's Pope.
2) Doesn't fit scripture.

c. Many thought Hitler was. Napolian, Luther.

d. He's not trying in vs. 18 to say who it is.
1) Not until he appears will know.
2) H.F. feels that the generation when he rises to power, then will count the number of his name..Believes he appears.

a. Some believe same group.

a) Sealing of 144,000 of all tribes of children of Israel

2. 3 views:

a. Same group as Rev. 7
1) Israelites.

b. Institutional church says these are those redeemed in heaven. But not in heaven, but on Zion.
c. Not same group as Rev. 7.


1) These are the overcomers in Rev. 14.

a) This may be all overcomers
b) I Jn. -- saved: are overcomers of world
c) With baptism: preserved
d) Ministry. Clara Grace Vision

2) Not same group as Rev. 7--

a) Not introduced as the 144,000.
(1) Not introduced as same group.

b) The 144,000 in Rev. 7 are sealed with seal of God in forehead

(1) Rev. 14:3--Redeemed from the earth
(a) Israelites are always identified as such in scripture.

(1) They must be in tribulation
(2) But, in Rev. 14, these are with the Lamb, and not in tribulation. Tribulation is over
(I) Rev. 19.

3. Nature of Group

a. A special group of overcomers.
1) Those who overcome in everything.
a) Walk entirely by faith.

b. They are contrasted with ch. 13 group.
1) Not take mark of beast, but of God.

c. New song to sing.

1) No one could learn song except them.
2) Rev. 5:9-10. Song of redeemed--all can sing it. (Angels can't --redeemed only).
3) But Rev. 14 song can't be sung except by 144,000. Can't learn it.

4) Reason they can sing it.

a) Because of purity. Vs 4. Not just fleshly and moral, but doctrine truth.(1) Not defiled with women--virgins.
(a) Referring to chastity.

(b) Bible speaks often of eunuchs.

(c) Bible speaks of divorce, then remarriage, as adultery. Disciples says better not to marry. Jesus said some are made eunuchs. Some make themselves eunuchs for service of God--but Paul said be ye careful to avoid snare of devil.

(d) H.F. believes these are unmarried, but not all unmarried.

(I) Some of apostles were married-Peter.

(II) Paul didn't marry: can concentrate entirely on serving the Lord.

(III) God ordained marriage. Don't condemn marriage.

(IV) Spiritual chastity--true revelation. Not wrong doctrine. Not denominational doctrines. Not just careless about flesh. These 144,000 have given totally to Jesus--will cost us.

(V) Matt. 25 - Parable of church is talking about whole church.

(A) II Cor. 11:2 - whole body of Christ is called a virgin. Present as chaste virgin to Christ
(B) More than literal virgins.

b) Truthfulness. vs. 5.
(1) No guile-conceit, sharp tongue.
(2) James 3. Our confession. Not negative. Meek spirit.

c) Without fault before throne of God.
(1) Not just thru boood of Jesus.
(2) Perfection--biblical or Christian.
(3) Approved. To stand.

d) First fruits.

(1) O.T. practice of offerings to God, of crops are offered to God, not only to give him the first, but that there will be more from him. These are always the best.

(2) Indication that there'll be more. Not special.

(3) Rev. 17--innumerable multitudes saved out of tribulation.

e) Vs. 4--Ever present with Christ.
(1) Follow him wheresoever he goes.


f) Can be those living at the time Christ calls.

(1) Dead overcomers are behind the veil, seeking out.
(2) Many people to come to perfection--144,000. Total consecration.
(a) Word becomes bread--live for it.

D. 3 angelic messengers-3 messages

1. Proclamation of everlasting gospel

a. Vs. 6-7. Worship and fear God.
b. These messages occur between 6th & 7th trumpet. Then 7th plague or bowl of wrath.

c. Hour of God's judgment is come
1) The last call
2) This is in tribulation
3) Great multitude saved out of it
4) Two witnesses are present
5) May be ministry thru people or angelic proclamation.

2. Proclamation of fall of Babylon.
a. Fell actually in ch. 17 & 18.

3. Proclamation of harvest of the wicked.

a. Vs. 9, 19-20.
b. Reaping by Christ with sickle as judgment.
c. Also, reaping by angel.
d. But angels really reaped.

1) Same as Matt. 13.
2) One judgment, but 2 aspects

e. Nature of judgment
1) Vs. 19-20
2) This could be literal of blood up to bridles.



II. Chapter 15.

A. Sets forth 3rd and final woe, with ch. 16.

1. Which is 7th trumpet.
2. Ch. 15 is intro to ch. 16 (Battle of Armaggedon)

B. All nations will come and worship before Jesus.
1. 15:4

C. Temple in heaven. 15:5

D. Saw a sign in heaven - vs. 1.

1. Rev. 12:1 is a sign of woman. Birth of overcomers.
2. Rev. 12:3 is another sign - great red dragon, Satan thrown out.
3. Rev 15:1 is third sign - 7 angels of final judgment

E. Saints that overcame

F. Ex. 15:1-11

1. Song of Moses
a. Redeemed--had victory over antichrist
b. A song of deliverance.

2. Thru series of judgments

a. 7 seals of book opened by Jesus
b. Then under 7th seal, 7 trumpets sounded by angels
c. Then on 7th trumpet, 7 vials of wrath and 3 woes are same.

3. Literal temple in heaven
a. Pattern on earth is from heaven.

4. First vial

a. Noisome & grievous sore on men.
b. Vs. 1-9. General judgments on whole earth
c. Sores wouldn't heal.
d. Duplication of many of plagues of Egypt

5. Second vial

a. On sea. Became blood. All died in sea.

b. All had souls.
1) Not distinguished from animals, but God's spirit.

c. 10 plagues of Egypt - Exodus.

d. Also, Rev. 8 - 1/3 of creatures died, but here is all--universal.

6. Third vial.

a. Poured out rivers and fountains
b. Said God is righteous

1) They thirsted after blood, so gave it to drink
2) Shed blood of saints and prophets.

7. Fourth vial

a. Upon sun. Scorch men by fire.
b. Men just blasphemed more.

8. Fifth vial

a. Upon seat (headquarters of beast)
1) Not general judgment

b. Darkness is everywhere.

9. Sixth vial.

a. Upon river Euphrates. Dried up.
b. Way of the kings of east prepared.
c. Is a big, long, river.

1) Flows from Armenia (Europe) to Persian Gulf. 1800 miles. 3-1200 yrd. wide 30' deep.
2) Natural boundary separates East from the West--2 worlds
3) Babylon is built right on it

a) Most listed city in Bible
b) Symbolized anti-God forces.

d. Enables great hordes of forces of east to come in to Armaggedon.

e. Prepare for Battle of Day of Lord.

1) Armageddon.

a) Mountain-plain in Palestine
b) Valley of Meggido
c) Mountain - Har

10. Seventh vial

a. Poured out vial in air.
1) Eph. 2, 6 -- Satan's domain -- in heavenlies.

b. On earth too -- a great earthquake

1) Haggai 2. Joel. Heb. 23. Amos
2) Jerusalem was divided into 3 parts.
3) Cities of nations fall
4) Babylon is destroyed.
5) Every island fled away and mountains were not found.

a) Ezek. 40-48. Temple, etc., to be built. This must have topography changed.

b) Zech. 12:14. Topography to be changed.

c) A great hail. Big blocks.
1) Men blasphemed God.


B. Chapter 17

1. Ch. 17-18: 2 Babylons.

I. Chapter 17-18

A. 2 Babylons.

1. Ch. 17 - Religious system
2. Ch. 28 - Political, commercial system
3. Rev. 17:18

a. Woman is great city
1) Not only harlot, false religion.

b. City of merchandise.
1) Rev. 18:9-11ff

4. Question about what city

a. Some say world system
b. One says Jerusalem
c. Prevailing view (no one knows). Either Rome or literal Babylon.

1) Rome is too limited for comprehensive picture.
a) Was great, and view is that to be reformed.
b) Not universal view.

2) Babylon restored literally.

a) Nebachadnezzer.

b) Nothing there----now.
(1) River Euphrates goes beside it.

c. Arguments for---

(1) Is. 13:6--destruction of Babylon is day of Lord--future, at judgment.
(2) Zech. 5:5-11. Predicts future restoration of commerce to Babylon.

(a) Land of Shinar - Babylon.
(b) 2 symbols of commerce: ephaah and talent of lead, with woman (symbolic of wickedness).

d) All wars start around economics
(1) Believe Babylon will be restored as commercial economic center.

e) Garden of Eden was there.

(1) Ancient cultures all started there.
(2) Abraham was from there.
(3) Euphrates divides world. Great. 1800 miles centrally located to all world. The bible world.

f) Iran and Iraq are restored--Babylonia and Perisa--today.
(1) Also, Israel took barren dessert, and in 20 years, is blooming city.

g) Rev. 14:8, 15:19, 18:10--literal Babylon falls.
(1) affect all the governments of the world.



II. Chapter 19

A. Marriage supper of lamb. Vs. 1-10.

1. vs. 11ff. Supper of God--different
2. Wife has made herself ready.

a. Not Israel.
1) Zech. 14. Christ deals with Israel after He returns, but not here yet until after supper.
a) Also, Israel in judgment. Comes to Mount of Olives Acts 1.

2) Zech. 12:10. Every Israelite will see him return. Those that pierced him. They will repent.
a) A spirit of grace poured out on Israel.

B. Vs. 11ff.

1. Coming back to War.
2. Battle of Armaggedon
a. Call to battle. Ch. 16

3. A tiered crown. Many levels.
4. Armies from heaven--

a. Saints--clothed with white linen--righteousness.
b. I Thess. 3; Zech. 14

C. Supper of God.

1. Call of the buzzards - eat flesh of kings, etc.
2. Antichrist and armies gathered to make war.

3. Antichrist and False Prophet were cast into lake of fire alive.
a. Overcome supernaturally. Word as sword by mouth.

b. God is dealing directly with them-not die, but cast alive.
1) Whole world sees this.
2) World thinks he's invincible.


III. Ch. 20. Millenium.

A. Binding of Satan.

1. Angel came down from heaven and bound and cast in bottomless pit.
a. Should deceive nations no more until 1000 years fulfilled.

2. Called millenium - 1000 years.
a. No war, peace, etc.

3. Bound so not to deceive nations.

a. Denominations teach he was bound at cross and we're in millenium.

1) But wars, etc., show not.

2) Satan isn't bound now.
a) I Pet. 5:8 -- Satan goes about to devour.
b) I Tim. 6 - wrestling
c) I Cor. - God of this world.
d) Prince of air

b. Ch. 12 - Satan isn't cast out until manchild is caught up

1) Manchild is future overcomers.
2) Satan cast out of heaven.

B. First resurrection - deals with saints.

1. Vs. 4. Those that are martyred, etc.
2. 3 groups
a. Apostles reign with Christ over Israel.

b. II Tim. 2:12.
1) Rev. 2:26-27
2) Overcomers will reign.
3) Rev. 5:10
4) Rev. 3:21

c. Third group - martyrs. vs. 4
1) Souls of them beheaded for witness of Jesus.

C. Satan loosed after millenium.

1) Bound with a chain (?)
a. Jude. I Peter. Bound with chains of darkness.

2. Gog and Magog.

a. Ezek. 37-38-39
b. Clearly symbolize rebellious nations against God.
c. Area of Russia.
d. Remnant of nations in Russian area.
e. Fire came down from heaven to destroy them.

3. God will deal with his enemies supernaturally.

a. Pray, faith, etc.
b. Pray for Russia.

D. Satan was cast into lake of fire. 20:10

E. Second Adam (Christ) will restore all things first Adam lost.

1. Satan will deceive after millenium like he did with Adam.
a. Have spiritual free choice.

2. Satan is a deceiver.

F. Great White Throne Judgment. Vs. 11ff.

1. Dead judged according to books, according to works.

2. Second death--cast into lake of fire.
a. No one here is found in book of life.
b. Those not raised in 1st resurrection.

3. The Lost Dead.
4. Death and hades. Sea. - All cast.

5. This is final judgment.
a. Nations judged before millenium.
b. Saints judged for marriage supper.



IV. Chapter 21 and Chapter 22 together.

A. This is the eternal state after the millenium.

B. Chapter 21

1. After the millenium.

2. A new heaven and new earth

a. First heaven and first earth passed away.
b. No more sea. Won't need boundaries to separate nations.
c. No sorrow, pain, death, nor crying, no tears, the source will be gone.
d. The temple (tabernacle) will be with us.

e. The greatest evidence of man's mortality is pain--will be removed.
1) Former things are passed away.

f. Talking to overcomers. Vs. 7

g. All sinners shall be cast into the lake of fire: fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murdereers, whoremonger, sorcerer, idolatry, all liars
1) This is for the character of persons.

3. New Jerusalem.

a. This is already prepared for us by Jesus--goes to prepare, with many mansions.
b. Abraham looked for an invisible city.

c. Gal. 4:26.
1) Compared to Jerusalem above.
2) Paul was caught up to paradise.

d. Heb. 12:22.
1) The heavenly Jerusalem.

e. Heb. 13:14
1) Seek a city to come.

f. Gates are named by 12 tribes of Israel.
g. Built on the foundation of the apostles.

h. Golden reed to measure the gates.
1) A perfect cube.
2) 1500 miles cubic (12,000 furlongs).

i. No temple in it--for God and Lamb are the temple.

j. No light--glory of God is light.
1) Nations that shall be saved.
2) Kings of earth--in the new dispensation are the overcomers. Rule and reign.

C. Chapter 22

1. Pure river of life from throne of God.

a. Trees that give their fruit.
b. Leaves for healing of nations.

c. Questions why we need food or nations healing.
1) But, like adam, who had to eat out of the tree of life
2) This is a mystery of God.

2. Reign for ever and ever. vs. 5

3. Blessed is he that keeps the prophecy of this book.

a. We must know them. Not a mystery.

b. Perfected saints in past times can minister to us.
1) Elijah and Moses appeared.
2) John is one of prophets.
3) But worship God.

4. Vs. 19 - take away from the words of this prophecy--denominations do this.
