Sitting with no bible or thoughts about anything then it came to my mind. It was something in the past I wanted to know. This is a jaw dropping verse. Many have mocked it and said see God forsook Jesus and he was crying out. Some say he was a sinner. others he became sin.

Maybe you better get a tissue, because this verse is almost like a miracle.

A. why does Jesus say Eli twice. I know more than one reason but in this verse he is using a Jewish custom. Eli is him using the double to get attention to what he is saying. He is making a point.

Look at Matt. 27: 41-43. Look what the chief priests and elders and scribes say. v.43 b. for he said I am the son of God. In Jn. 10:15,17,18, Jesus says in these verses God his father.

In Jn. 10:33 The leaders say not for good works but because of blasphemy. thou being a man make yourself God. That is why he went to the cross. Now when he says Eli Eli he is calling his father. Also he is the son. He is there suffering for that. To come down from the cross would be to save himself and show he was the father's son.

Same v.1 The word helping in Hebrew is Yeshuah. it is same as save. Eli plus Yeshuah== father and son. The son is Jesus in N.T. That is all for now. God bless. today is Oct 31.

faith-- forsake all I trust him. Baal-- believe apostacy all lost. bible-- believe in bible life eternal.
