So I'm sitting here minding my own business, scrolling through a bunch of woodworker videos on Youtube and then it starts. Slowly, at first, then rapidly I'm being bombarded with 'End of the World' video suggestions. Now I've been a Christian for like 44 years and I've heard more than my share of end-of-the-world sermons... and I, for the most part, believe them. (Not the ones that give us the date and time, of course, but those that approximate that we are nearing the end are okay in my book.)
Alright, so I turn on news and see that, hey! people are rioting in the streets, burning down buildings, the national guard has been mobilized, earthquakes, fires burning out west, masked people walking around giving interviews, even news anchors are reporting through masks... I don't know what they are saying though, cause I'm old and it all just sounds like mumbling to me (Simon & Garfunkel's "...people talking without speaking", comes to mind; from their song: Sound of Silence) but the visuals are enough and I'm thinking--what did I miss? Is this the end?
I keep getting messages from "woke" people (the horrendous grammatical error aside) telling me that "black lives matter" (which, by the way, I've always known... they, along with all of the other colors, too... well, I'm not sure who the 'blue' people are but I'm sure google will be a friend and help me out here) and then my feed is suddenly covered up with the announcement that Millie Weaver has been arrested.
Now, I'm in real trouble here. How could I have missed the arrest of Millie Weaver? I feel shamed. I don't even know who this person is.
I check to see if my wife and daughters are still here thinking that I might have missed the rapture... whew! they are!
I feel like I've just awakened (is that the proper usage of the word? maybe I awoke? how about this-- I feel like I just woke up from my sleep? I don't know if I'm 'woke', 'awake' or what but it seems like everybody else knows how to use the word so I trust that you understand!) from a deep sleep.
And where did all of these prophets come from? The Youtube feed is filled with people prophesying about this thing and that thing (some of them say that they've spent hours in heaven) where was I when all of this was happening?
Don't get me wrong, I've spent years telling people (really those that are called cessationists, people that don't believe in the present day gifts of the Holy Spirit) that God's gifts are just as real today as they were in the first century.
Then, lo and behold, I'm informed that the 'deep state' is going down!
Is that what we used to call the Illuminati? or is it those folks that covered up the JFK assassination? I need to get up to speed on this stuff before it goes down. I guess I'll just go with the JFK angle because I recently heard that Bob Dylan released a new song about that.
Okay, I think I'm getting the picture here from my feed:
--The END probably is coming next month or the month after.
--The JFK shooter/s are going to be exposed. (Next month or the month after.)
I might need just a little help on this one: who is going to take down the 'deep state'? Is it the looters? the Christians? the Democrats? the Republicans? the Youtube prophets? maybe that guy that spent 5 hours in heaven having a conversation with... you know who? Is it going to be Trump? (unless he's one of 'them'?)
I'm feeling pretty small here... 44 years isn't what it used to be.
If someone could just tell me who Millie Weaver is, I might be well on my way to being up-to-speed (now that is an old-fashioned phrase that we oldsters used to use... back in the day when we were groovy and cool.)
