I went through a trial recently where I was all but overwhelmed. It wasn't sickness or money or anything material really. I didn't have any real idea what to do so I took refuge in Ps. 91 and speaking in tongues. I came to the conclusion that as long as I could speak in tongues I could not be defeated so I refused to be afraid.

As long as we can speak in tongues we're on top of things. Even if doesn't look like it. Even if everything (seems?) to be falling in pieces around us. We can never be defeated if we continue to speak in tongues.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God.
11Cor. 10/4 The devil has no defense against it. Paul said he spoke in tongues more than anyone. Sometimes the only way we can express our faith is to speak in tongues.

Jesus said he would never leave us or forsake us and one proof of that is that we can continue to speak in tongues. If we can speak in tongues we know that God is still with us and one way or another we will get through.

I Thank God thru Jesus Christ that I am able To Pray in Tongues.
I would have very little to say other wise.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Not sure if I've already posted this or not but have you ever thought about tongues in relation to Romans 10:17?

:: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We hear all of the time this verse used in connection with the Scriptures and I'm in total agreement with that but think about it with relation to 'tongues'.

If we believe that 'tongues' are inspired by the Holy Ghost, making 'tongues' the WORD OF GOD, can we not then conclude that 'faith' comes as we hear these 'Words of God' flowing from our own mouths?

I don't know how much 'tongue speaking' the early Church participated in--Paul certainly seemed to practice tongue speaking a lot--but think about the kind of mountain-moving-faith they had and ask yourself the question--is this the missing element in today's Church?

I mean, really... So then FAITH COMETH by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD OF GOD.

Blessings,
William

I think the churches of today have neglected the Gifts of The Holy Spirit, they believe in them, but they don't practice them in the assembly.
I've never related Tongues to Rom 10:17, but I know praying in tongues is needed and it works. Lol.
Last week at church, I was teaching on Eph 6 Armor of God, when I got to verse 18 I stopped them and said praying in Tongues is part of our Armor, so for
2 minutes I made every one Pray in Tongues out loud in public.I stressed the need for the Gifts to be in operation in our assembly to enable us to be an effect
witness for Jesus Christ and the pastor said....Amen ! We as a body are working towards that goal. Thank you Jesus !
