As I was studying the chap. 3, the Lord shows much more that is there. Because of the popular get money scheme it is really the most viewed. God bless if I'm not talking to you.

The significant understanding is when the people who teach tithing are being confused about shadows and types, that is saying the the Levites are the leaders of the church who you should be giving tithes to. How do they say that? They say according to that passage in chap. 3: God requires us to give 10%.

Don't leave, there is a big surprise for you.
If we go by the type of Levites being examples for the church of today, then we must include in that shadow of what was being said about those Levites. It must also apply for today. They cannot be seperated.
In Mal.2:8 we have there that they corrupted the covenant with Levi. All the offerings brought by different peoples were done by a unrighteous heart.
In 3:3 The sons of Levi were not bringing a offering of righteousness. v.4 it was not pleasant to God. Before moving on, do you see that the shadow of tithing for today would have to include unrighteous preachers who demand tithes.

Now we have more. it appears that tithing is the main issue because more details are given. That is if you are stuck in chap. 3:. Mal.1:6 two times it is said the priests despise God's name.
1:10 God will not accept their offerings.
Mal. 2:1-2 God says the priests are already under a curse , even on their blessings. Read Gal. 3:10 They who are under the law are under a curse. They were tithing in O.T. and yet under a curse. Because they offer corrupt offerings and despise God's name. Gal. 3:10 is N.T.. Those offerings not accepted either.

Mal. 2:10 Another issue is they were partial to the law. They must do the whole law or none is good.
Mal. 2:14-16 Another issue--marriage and divorce. which God hated.
v.17. everyone that does evil is good in God's sight. Boy could I get on another path here. Just relate this to the church today--enough said. They say where is the God of judgement? Playing with fire here?

Ch. 4:1-6 v.1 God's judgement. the v.2-6 encouragement by the Lord.

ch. 3:15 3 misconceptions. we call the proud happy,(with their world which is doomed)

they who work wickedness are set up, (making progress), they who tempt God ( test or try his patience).
3:7 see Col. 2:14 the ordinances that were against us were nailed to the tree. Therefore law and ordinances don't apply from the Mosaic. Now we give freely from the heart and not as a requirement.

God even gave grace in the O.T. If you unwillingly didn't pay your tithe or other requirements, you had Lev. 5:15.
He shall offer a Ram for a trespass offering. In measure to the shekel of the sanctuary which was the ransom atoning money. It was called the Bekah. The Ram and the shekel that was a picture of Christ. in ther N.T. He is called the Lamb of God and paid the price for our ransom and atonement.

The key is that Malachi deals with several issues even the whole nation of Israel Mal. 3:9 . tithing was just a part of the law. God had many issues in Mal. being dealt with. They thought it was vain to serve God. (didn't pay to do). Being delivered from a eternal punishment is pay enough. Also a life of fellowship with a God who answers prayers of faith for all things. He is sovereign to protect us from all who hate us. There is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Rom. 8:1

faith-- forsake all I trust him. Baal-- believe apostacy all lost. bible-- believe in bible life eternal.
