I have contended for a long time (and said so here) that heaven is a generic term for all God's creation outside our universe. I think heaven consists of many different universes realms dominions etc. I also think our universe is finite and where it reaches its end there is nothing on the other side of it. Not just nothing there but nothing in its ultimate sense.

I ran across an article by a cosmologist that speaks to those issues. He doesn't make a case for it just discusses it. Anyway, I found it highly interesting.

From the article:

But even if the universe is finite, it doesn't necessarily mean there is an edge or an outside. It could be that our three-dimensional universe is embedded in some larger, multidimensional construct. That's perfectly fine and is indeed a part of some exotic models of physics. But currently, we have no way of testing that, and it doesn't really affect the day-to-day operations of the cosmos.
