Christian Universalism...all will be saved
We've been taught about the false doctrine of universalism, which is embraced by several different religious groups throughout the world. But I believe there is an increasing number, that in the past were accepted as as 'christian', who have joined a group believing the doctrine of 'Christian Universalism' and their belief is that eventually all will be saved. There's even a Christian Universalism Association.
I was supprised to find that someone whom I'd been reading their blogs and seemed a solid brother in The Lord with scriptural comments and edifying words was a promoter of this teaching. Then he jumps into this sale of Christian Universalism(not someone that I knew about his background), it was so 'out of left field' that I thought he was just trying to get people to discuss it, but no, he believes it. The scriptures he quoted to attempt to prove his position were...I Thess.5:9-10; John 12:32; Phil.2:10-11; I Corth.15:22; Rom.11:26-27; I Tim.4:10
As I started checking it out, I find that it's not a new doctrine, and that (if the info is accurate) even the founders of the Anabaptist believed this.(I always agreed with much of the teachings of the Anabaptist.)
Anyone ran across anyone with this doctrine?

What caused me to post on this subject was that the person who was defending and promoting 'christian universalism' was someone who I saw as a brother in The Lord and was enjoying what he had been blogging.(and I'm not saying he's not saved, hopefully he's just off on this doctrine and The Holy Spirit will lead him to the truth as he follows after The Lord) We know there are groups that embrace this doctrine and expect such from them, but this guy suprised me. He was right on with many of the same things that was taught by HEF.
I'm sure there are different degrees and depths to what different people believe concerning this false doctrine, but I think his take was that people will pay for their sins but just not for eternity.(and will ultimately be saved, based on John 12:32 and other scriptures that the KJV translates as 'all' ) Reminds me a bit of Michael The Disciple and his belief in the 'Oneness' doctrine, got a lot of things right, very sincere and devoted, but........
