Israel the natural olive tree.

Romans 9-11 speaks to God's plans for Israel. In a nutshell, it means the kingdom belongs to them. God has temporarily partially set aside Israel so us gentiles can be brought into God's kingdom. He also makes the point that through all of history and even today, there has always been a believing remnant of Jews.

Is. 11/11 says there will be a second gathering of Jews back into their land. We saw that beginning in the last century. Modern Israel is also the fulfillment of Ezek. 37.
Ezek 38-39 is yet to be fulfilled but I believe is on the horizon. Bro. Freeman in his deeper life book had much to say on the subject of Israel.

To any of us that have sat under the faith message this is probably old news. There is something else in Rom. 11 though that as far as I am aware I've never heard anyone speak to.

Rom. 11/17-30

Vs. 18-21 Boast not against the branches (Israel). But if you boast you bear not the root but the root thee . . . The branches were broken off that I might be grafted in . . . Be not high minded but fear . . . If God spared not the natural branches take heed lest he also not spare thee.

In light of the almost hysterical anger hatred and anti-semitism all over the world today toward Israel the entire Christian church should take serious heed to this warning.
I think that "sometimes" this is the reason some give heed to seducing spirits or allow too much unbelief to fill their heart or take the mark of the beast or . . . and walk right out of Jesus' kingdom. In other words they are a grafted in wild olive branch broken off by a sovereign God.

I think the anger hatred and anti-semitism seen all over the world today is going to get much much worse. Following the war of God and Magog there will arise an unreasoning resentment eventually culminating in an implacable hatred. Christians should be warned not to get caught up in it. There are entire denominations that have a very low level of antipathy toward them. Including the one I grew up in. There is also a high level of ignorance among Christians about modern Israel and God's intentions for them.

They are obviously not above criticism but think there is a line one can't cross when it comes to Israel. The warning is there to keep God's people on the narrow path. As I said "sometimes" this is the reason some have departed from the faith. They went too far and a sovereign God cut them off.

Since you're quoting Chesterton what do you think about another--two and two make four, and leaves are green in summer-- and that would be--the Church is pretty much grafted in branches?

I'm not feeling so hot right now (trial) so pardon me if I don't express this very well but doesn't it seem that the Church (real born-again believers) have flipped the script? It's as if this grafted-in status is somehow better than being a natural branch.

Yes, I agree with you concerning being careful about our criticisms and attitudes toward God's Wife!

Blessings,
William
