Wendell went to be with the lord last week. We went to his funeral Friday and saw a lot of "old" FA people.
It was a God honoring funeral with lots of grandchildren participating and a spirit of rejoicing present. I have been to several funerals that were suppose to be "celebrating" a death. They seemed to be fake - as most people wanted to sorrow. This funeral truely and honestly had a spirit of thankfulness and gratitude to the Lord for His goodness.

Yeah! Juvia had us begin the memorial service by singing, If you Knew How Close the Finish Line Was . . . . It set the stage for a remarkable, God honoring funeral.
Not only were many older FA people present, but what a reward to see not only the legacy that Wendall left in his grandchildren, but to also see other lively and energetic youth present.
Sometimes we just catch a short glimpse of heaven as a dew drop falls like this!

That is a great song! It is one of my all time favorites. A very encouraging song when someone is going through trials and even when they aren't. Reminds us that what we go through now is almost over and the finish line is just ahead. For those who don't know the song the words are as follows. And if for any reason I am not allowed to share the words someone please let me know.
"If you knew how close the finish line was you'd take a deep breath and give it all you've got.
Run this race with endurance, persevere by faith, don't look around, don't stop.
And if you look up straight ahead you'll see the finish line.
The Lord is standing with outstretched arms just beyond.
It's just a short, short time before this race is over, so
persevere and give it all you've got."
At least I believe those are the correct words, if not let me know.
On this Overcomers Online site there is a section that has some of the worship music we use to sing. I would highly recommend going to that part and listen to the songs, very edifying and encouraging.
A couple friends and I went on our annual 26 mile bike ride this past Saturday and we were reminiscing about that song, so it is a blessing to have you mention it, thank you. We sure did have some wonderful worship!
Lord bless your day, Nana.
