I'm wondering if anyone knows what happened to Cal and Audie. They played music together, and put out a tape or two. I'm looking for their "Abundantly Satisfied" tape, in particular. They wrote some really good scriptural songs. Anyone still have their tapes?

Knowing Cal, I doubt that. I heard a rumor that Audie had moved from the area, and had backslidden. I knew them and the Roach family (Sherwood, Mary Jo, Andy)and after they left (were kicked out, actually) FA, we had meetings in Sherwood and Mary Jo's home. It was a time of healing for those of us who were kicked out. I think there were a lot of rumors passed around after the big meeting where about 30 or so people were kicked out of FA. I left voluntarily, but my brother was kicked out, and vilified by name from the pulpit.

I see on the Tomax site that Audie G. has recently responded. Apparently the rumors of him backsliding were just that, rumors. As for the rumor that they got into JDS, I seriously doubt it. My brother has maintained some contact with Cal Roach, and if Cal was into JDS, my brother would have known it, and would have set him straight. I can say with absolute certainty that neither my brother nor myself has ever believed that Jesus died spiritually. We rejected that false doctrine before HF even preached against it.

I don't know anything about them except what our pastor told us. A lot of stuff happened back then. Lots of rumours about everyone. I think it is much more important where are spiritually now.

I agree, and that is in part the reason for my inquiry. What your pastor told you is inaccurate as far as I know. It might have been better if he had simply said "I don't know", rather than pass on a rumor.

I am waiting to hear back from Audie, and his post on the tomax site indicates that he is still walking with the Lord. My brother has indicated that Cal is still walking with the Lord, as well. Now there are some here who might define walking with the Lord as staying true to the FA teaching, but I don't think that definition is binding. I think there are at least some here who would agree.

You might want to describe "FA teaching" for us to understand what you're saying or implying.

Looking around the threads here should give you an idea. Rather than try to go into a lengthy synopsis (and be told about what I missed), I think that possibly the reason that some heard that Cal and Audie got into JDS (Jesus Died Spiritually) and left, is this: I know for a fact that Cal and his family left because of the big shakeup wherein Bill Schwan, and some 20 or 30 others were unceremoniously and publicly kicked out for supposedly teaching against Hobart, which was, in actuality, a lie. Now, I know that some here might take issue with me calling it a lie, but the fact is, that is what it was. Things, words, and actions were taken out of context, traps were laid to catch the supposed villains, and a kangaroo court was held to lend legitimacy to it. It's unfortunate, given all that FA stood for, but these are the facts. There were some whose behavior would not have survived the light of scrutiny, and things were covered up to make sure that never happened. Anyone who thinks that could not possibly have happened, do not understand the measures that some will go to to protect not only themselves, but the "hero" and "role model" they imagined Hobart to be.

Anyway, I have heard recently from Audie, and hope to continue corresponding with him. He is still walking with the Lord, and attending a church. I am still hoping to find a good copy of "Abundantly Satisfied" which I want to get onto CD, and make available for anyone who would like a copy.

If anyone still has a copy, or knows someone who does, please, please, let me know here, and I will pursue it. I really would like to rescue that tape from oblivion.
