I think in the not too distant future water will be in very short supply around the world. I ran across this verse in my bible reading and thought I would pass it on. It would be one to keep in mind for the future.
Isaiah 41/17&18
When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

We had a county wide shortage last week due to some storms that passed through the area. Apparently there was some damage done to the water system and the authorities were telling people not to drink the water without boiling it first. Problem was, the power was out in many sections!
This isn't necessarily what you were talking about but it goes to show how quickly things we take for granted can be taken away.

Speaking of taking things for granted, most of Alabama has been under an extreme drought for almost 3 months with the main lake Birmingham uses for water over 75% dried up. We finally had rain last night with more expected later today.
I just wanted to say I'm grateful and want to give praise and thanks unto The Lord. I try to daily express my gratitude and give thanks, not taking anything we are given for granted, but this rain was very much needed.
btw: I heard someone say the other day that gratitude unexpressed wasn't really gratitude. If we're really thankful, or really love someone, we show it in some way. Verbally is good, but actions that reflect thanksgiving and love are even better.
