deeper insight will reveal how though Jonah didn't want to go to Nineveh. God used that to make his wise point. God would send him to a people who Jonah was afraid of. They were so wicked God would destroy them if not repent in 40 days. They were so bad Jonah would go the other direction. He would even disobey God.

A supreme manifestation of love and mercy would show how much God would forgive Gentiles and Jews. God was doing this to show he loved his people and wanted them to repent. He would show people more wicked than his people at that time could be forgiven upon repentance.

What Jonah did worked for the good. He would see how his not wanting to go would show disobedience and end in I will use the word hell here to help understanding for some.
Also we see that God and his mercy is unlimited to how a person's sins are. Nineveh and Jonah both would be used to call Israel to repentance.

In Matt. 13:29-30 we see Jesus telling about the wheat and the tares. compare that with Jonah 4. God was concerned with the women , children and much cattle. So should God destroy all Nineveh.

God uses wisdom in all his judgment's. He could destroy a whole nation, but he will spare if their are 10 righteous. (Abraham).

Though it appears that Esther and Mordecai would be enough, the prayers of all the people in unity brought the day of Purim. Big faith brought about a great deliverance. and a good day. Esther 8:17.

faith-- forsake all I trust him. Baal-- believe apostacy all lost. bible-- believe in bible life eternal.
