Hi everyone!
Been awhile since I've lightened (don't like the word darkened) these halls.
Lots been happening with me and God is still good.
Spiritual side of things, we are listening to Keith Moore (not related to Beth Moore) which has encouraged us back in the faith walk. Same with Andrew Wommac, God used him to deliver my wife out of depression.
Now, I know that some cringe at Andrew Wommac, and I don't know the whole story, but we don't follow him all the time, just time and time again.
Keith Moore on the other hand has a lot of faith message and was Ken Hagen's junior so to speak, and as far as I can see, Keith Moore is the only minister who gives his stuff away for free (not this 'suggested donation' thing) due to the Lord's leading.
While I know he fellowships with K. Copland, I don't think he's totally sold on JDS like Copland - which I heard Copland say it again last year at a Believer's Conference my wife attended. I wanted to hear what she hears to discuss things later so I went - thank God for the light we received from Bro. Freeman!
I was re-reading about TAF and Lakeland 'revival' discussion here, and how people are so hungry to see the manifestation of our Lord. It still takes faith, and God isn't in the show business.
Anyway, I can see the famine in the land from hearing the Word of God, and at the same time wonder how much longer we, as a church, can go before the effects of starvation sets in. To the hungry heart, every bitter thing is sweet.
I see Steven Hill on Facebook, and chatted a bit with him, he's still hurting from the rejection he got from FA and the fallout when it disintegrated.
He's into the Father's Love, which is great, but not sure if the faith walk is promoted per se.
Have a step-daughter who became gay and married her wife, and they now have a child by Artificial Insemination. Talk about leaning on God's love. I don't understand things, through her friends I see a lot of hurting people, but at the same time they think they are normal.
One thing from all this - I am not as critical or quick to be judgmental and condemn gays to hell. I think that is where the legalism came in. We know about what God did to Sodom and G, so will it happen again? We all heard about SF being wiped out, but before that happens, I think Las Vegas has to go first
But yeah, it is getting harder to hear other ministries due to the compromise (like God gave cancer to one fellow to bring them closer to Him) and so on. One thing we appreciate is Keith Moore's sermons talk against that stuff. So refreshing to hear someone else speak it.
http://www.moorelife.org/mlmindex.php
Not promoting his ministry but from what I've heard over the past 5 years hasn't had any alarms go off, if anything encouraged me to hold onto my faith in God's goodness, provision and health.
http://www.flcbranson.org/listseries.php?xml=rss/ThePeaceOfG od.xml has some great worship music that helped us in times of trouble.
Again, not pushing him, but did a search on here for 'moore' and only came up with a one liner about Beth Moore, so curious as to if anyone has listened to Keith Moore.
cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,
I have 'hear of' and seen Keith Moore, he is a regular on the cable/dish/satellite TV religious networks. From what I've heard from him and from the people he associates with, I think he is part of the "Word of Faith" movement. I made myself a promise to refrain from criticizing every false ministry 'out there'...so I will only say this, birds of a feather, flock together.(that may just be a southern saying or it may be universally known. <grin>)
While the Bible teaches that the just shall live 'by faith', and that without faith it's impossible to please God; the message being taught today by Kenneth Copeland, Ted Shuttlesworth, Keith Moore, Mike Murdock, and the list goes on and on of WOF teachers...has been twisted to become something God never intended. Yes He wants us to prosper; yes, He wants us to be in health; yes, He wants us to walk by faith. BUT, there is a huge group of teachers(and a even larger group of followers) who have turned the pure gospel of Jesus Christ into a 'name it, claim it' false prosperity gospel; an unbiblical faith message concerning healing; and into various errors and doctrines.(JDS among others)
Discernment has never been more critical than right now, we're (Christians) being bombarded with false doctrines and teachings by FALSE teachers/prophets/apostles/evangelist/pastors from every side; and the sad truth is that to stand up and say so labels one as being 'critical'. Imagine Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, or Jesus being here today...probably wouldn't be too popular in 'christian' circles. "Hey now Jesus, who you calling wolves and vipers...don't you know brother so-n-so has a 'world wide ministry' and is highly thought of by kings and presidents? What's your problem, he quotes scripture. What'da ya mean You never knew them?"(Matt.7:22-23)
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”

That's the best way I have ever heard that put. Well said.
One thing from all this - I am not as critical or quick to be judgmental and condemn gays to hell. I think that is where the legalism came in. We know about what God did to Sodom and G, so will it happen again? We all heard about SF being wiped out, but before that happens, I think Las Vegas has to go first.
I've felt that way for a long time but have been very hesitant to say so. Here or among my circle of acquaintance. The whole issue came up for me several years ago with someone very close to me who is gay. So I did some reading. The result was I ended up with a great deal of compassion for these people. Caught in a sin they can't get out of. What is so ironic is the very christian church that condemns them is the same church who apparently can't help them!!??
I think the sin is disgusting but at the same time why is it our business what people who have no other way to express their life do in the midst of the heathen culture that surrounds us. I think the biblical point of view is . . . what happens in the church is our business what happens in the world is theirs.
Here are the two books I read. I didn't change my opinions on the subject at all. I still think it is disgusting. But it left me with a deep sense of compassion which I think is biblical.

Mark:
Thanks for the kind words and agreeing with me, these are a hurting people.
Yes some of it is just pure perversion (talk about an oxymoron of words), and some of it is 'curiosity', but a lot can be traced to single parents and society acceptance of it as a choice.
I wonder if the estrogen and other growth hormones they put in beef, chicken, and milk has something to do with this as well.
James:
Thanks for responding, I was wondering why it was so quiet in here even with 24+ viewers.
While the WOF have perverted the gospel into a money racket, I find Keith Moore more balanced in love, prayer and conviction in his messages.
I guess the proof is he believes the Lord told him not to charge for the messages and music, and he followed his conviction.
No other preacher I know did that, even Bro. Freeman with the tapes. I know personally John and Mark who worked at the tapes, as a job and income, so basically I can see both sides of that idea, but the real point is walk by faith.
I did however disagree at the time with Bro. Freeman's stance about worship leaders and other musicians not being able to sell their tapes. To me, that was a double standard.
Why I posted Keith Moore, there are readers here who don't attend church because it doesn't line up totally with FA teaching, or are bound by "demon's behind every rock" mentality, as I had it, so I'm sure others do.
I cried out to the Lord I need bread and Keith Moore has filled that void, ironically via my wife's deliverance. I say ironically because of my narrow thinking in that how can a WOF and JDS preaching deliver someone?
JDS is still heretical and I write to K.Copland and K.Moore about it when it is shared. K.Moore doesn't speak about it in his messages or services (which are broadcast live Friday nights and Sunday mornings), so I think K.Hagen's influence and his heart towards the Lord keeps that point off to the side.
Anyway, I share this for those who need more than the 80's tapes to live off of.

I just wanted to say Tom that there are faith ministers who post their material on line. Mike Guthrie over in Virginia does. A bro down in Alabama as well. Tom Hamilton streams his meetings live and archives the audio on the site. I wish more of them would do that.

If you are looking for solid biblical teaching why not check out John Piper's site? He's got messages online from 1980 through the present and they are pretty sound, theologically speaking.
http://www.desiringgod.org/
He's got some good messages on suffering (you know, that subject no one likes to think about!) that helped me tremendously.
His concept of 'Christian Hedonism' is unique and especially insightful.
Quote: | Christian hedonism is the truth that "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him." Therefore, if we are going to glorify God as we ought, the pursuit of joy is not optional—it is essential. We not only may, but ought to pursue our maximum pleasure—in God. -- John Piper
