Biden said the Russians are going in on Tuesday. I'd be surprised if it happens. I think they will find a way out.
One issue though is that it is quite expensive to move that much military into position as they have. Expensive just for a show of force. It looks like they have everything they own in there. So why is he doing it? Maybe just to show the world Russia is not just a paper bear. I don't really know I just don't think it is going to happen.
The whole issue of Europe/Russia has been badly handled by successive US administrations. The expansion of NATO was completely unnecessary. It took away the one defense Russia had in the west. That being buffer states between them and NATO.
Other than supplying arms there isn't much NATO can do. I don't think sanctions are worth much either. Too much of Europe depends on Russian natural gas.
So for what it is worth a somewhat uneducated opinion . . . I just don't think it is time.

Well, they did. I don't know if it's possible to figure out what Russia or China's motives are, other than world dominance. Throughout history nations have wanted to dominate other weaker nations for various reasons; expand their boarders, to get access to more resources, ect.
I don't think Putin trembles in fear at the words of President Biden.

Ya they did. I was actually surprised. It will be interesting to see where all this goes now in the world. Both Russia and China seem to be asserting themselves. Actually, I think the biggest takeaway from this is going to be where it goes in the months/years ahead. Afghanistan was a real debacle and showed up the weaknesses in NATO.

Hi Mark and James,
Do you see that as Russia is on the move they (and others with them) will eventually come down to Israel? (as in Ez. 38 & 39)
Marilyn.

I do for sure. I don't think it is here yet but it's on the horizon. Going to be some interesting times. A lot of the Christian world is talking about it.
At this point the war doesn't seem to be going all Russia's way. If they start losing (or not winning) they could just leave the irregulars from Syria and Chechnya there pull out and let it turn it into a war like Syria. That might suit their purpose as well.

Thanks Mark,
I think Amir has helped a lot of people get up to speed with this. I also think the war will go on for quite a while and the economic fallout, even in our nation, (Australia) will help people to start to take stock of life, as inflation bites.
What is your view on that?

I like Amir. He seems to have some very good sources.
I think this will be one of those pivotal moments in world history. It seems most of the world has pulled together on it. Doesn't seem to be going all Russias way either although that could be western propaganda. They're talking about economic fallout here in Canada too. Not sure how that is going to play out. It's sure to have an impact on the energy situation.

Putin/Russia seems to have badly miscalculated with this war. It's not going as quickly as they thought it would. Plus it seems the whole world almost has turned against them.
Going to be a huge impact economically. Food/energy/fuel are all going up.
Whether they win or lose the war it is not going to turn out well. Back off or lose the war and it just leaves a very angry Russia with a tremendous lack of face. Something that has always seemed to me to be very important to Putin.
I can't help wondering if the American leadership has handled this very well. Going back over several administrations. The expansion of NATO for eg has served no purpose whatsoever. Of course, that is my relatively uneducated opinion.
I think this is all the lead-up to the war of Gog/Magog. There are quite a few others saying it too.

I get a newsletter dealing almost entirely with Canadiana but the editor is very conversant with military and foreign affairs. I thought this one on Ukraine was quite good so I posted it.
From the piece . . .
As the conflict drags on, I find myself considering this more and more, both in terms of how it could happen and, more ominously, what that would mean for the rest of us. And increasingly, I'm fearing the conclusion I'm coming to: the more successful Ukraine is at repelling invading forces, the more perilous the conflict is going to become for the rest of the world.

Well it seems like half the Christian world thinks this is a leadup in one way or another to the war of Gog and Magog. Even Hank Hannegraf weighed in on it. Although he doesn't think so. I think it will eventually end up there.
Won't be this year though. I'm going to Israel in the fall.

LOL...
I know you're kidding (I think, anyway) but how well does this reflects our thoughts? God needs to alter His plans to fit our lives and plans. Come back Lord Jesus... but not right now, I'm going on vacation, or I want to see my grandkids grow up, or I'm doing this or that...me, me, me.
