He died today at 93. He wrote on a lot of practical issues and was probably the foremost theologian today on Puritan life and theology.
His legacy for me personally was that it was mostly him that provided a ladder big enough for me to see over the walls the faith message had built around me. Walls of fear and pride and maybe other issues as well. I don't think HEF intended it that way and I'm not trying to be critical but I think he was a little too unaware of what was going on in his own ministry and following.
He was on my mind today and then I logged on and saw he was gone. Even though I know where he is it leaves me a little sad as he has been such a fixture in my life.
Anyway I'd thought I would post for anyone else that is interested.
