If it weren't so sad it would be funny.
After a steady diet of compromise decade after decade has the Christian Church really come to the point that they are willing to bid "god speed" to their favorite candidate in tomorrow's election?
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
My question is: Does voting = bidding "god speed" to your favorite candidate?
Will Christians really cheer when they play "Hail[God Speed] to the Chief?"
I'd rather sing "God save the Queen"... at least it might be a bit more scriptural.
This is what happens when one starts down the road of compromise... compromising your beliefs in order to support a so-called christian nation... tsk, tsk.
Now it is a choice between a self-confessed Christian who supports abortion and a Mormon who denies the deity of Jesus Christ.
Christians everywhere have certainly backed themselves into a corner. Unfortunately, many don't even know it.
Blessings,
William

Well, I've certainly 'backed' myself(as well as 'painted' myself) into a corner, more times than once; but this is one corner I'm not in.(but that is by God's Grace) All I can say is, Lord, open our (the Body of Christ/Christians) eyes. It has to be Him doing it because people just don't/won't listen to what The Word says. I've shared about political activist by Christians and what The Bible says and just get told I should get on down there and register and do my Christian duty to vote for...whoever is running against 'him', even if he is a Mormon. Now look at what the 'conservative christian right' has done, they have supported and voted for the man who wasn't who God had ordained to be president of the United States for the next 4 years. But hey, nobody wants to face that fact. Compromise? Yes, this is another area of compromise by the church, to go along with many, many others.
I pray for whomever is leading this nation, that we may live peacable lives and continue to openly share Christ, whether I agree with their morals and ethics or not. But the clock is ticking, Jesus IS coming back, and the time is far nearer than when we first believed.
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us,”

When I was a kid growing up in public school (grade1-8) We used to sing that every morning. Do the Lords prayer too.
Did you read Huckabees comments re the recent shooting? Somehow we have equated xianity with our western culture. As in the two are synonymous.

I didn't see Huckabee's comments but I'd go further and say more specifically -- it has been equated with the republican party...
Repubs = Good (God)
Dems = Evil (Devil)
Unfortunately Paul's assessment, when applied to this century, was wrong: most ARE ignorant of Satan's devices.
